< Yoonis 3 >
1 Haddana mar labaad ayaa eraygii Rabbigu u yimid Yoonis oo ku yidhi,
This message from the Lord came to Jonah the second time,
2 Kac, oo waxaad tagtaa magaaladaas weyn oo Nineweh, oo waxaad iyada ku wacdidaa wacdiska aan kuu sheegayo,
“Arise, go to that great city, Nineveh, and proclaim to it the message that I tell you.”
3 Sidaas daraaddeed Yoonis wuu kacay oo wuxuu tegey Nineweh siduu eraygii Rabbigu ku amray. Haddaba Nineweh waxay ahayd magaalo aad iyo aad u weyn, oo waxay isu jirtay intii saddex maalmood loo socdo.
So Jonah started for Nineveh, as the Lord commanded. Now Nineveh was so large a city that it took three days’ journey to cross it.
4 Markaasaa Yoonis wuxuu bilaabay inuu magaaladii dhex galo in maalin socod ah, oo intuu qayliyey ayuu yidhi, Weli waxaa u hadhay afartan maalmood, dabadeedna Nineweh waa la afgembiyi doonaa.
Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, and he proclaimed, “Forty days more and Nineveh shall be overthrown.”
5 Markaasaa dadkii Nineweh Ilaah rumaysteen, oo waxay ku dhawaaqeen in la soomo, oo kii ugu wada weynaa ilaa kii ugu yaraa inta ka dhex leh waxay wada xidheen dhar joonyad ah.
And the people of Nineveh believed God; and they ordered a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.
6 Oo warkiina wuxuu gaadhay boqorkii Nineweh, oo isna intuu carshigiisii ka kacay ayuu dharkiisii quruxdasanaa iska bixiyey, oo wuxuu huwaday dhar joonyad ah, dambasna wuu ku fadhiistay.
And when word came to the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his robe, dressed in sackcloth, and sat in ashes.
7 Oo wuxuu sameeyey naado, oo Nineweh gudaheeda ayaa lagu faafiyey amarkii boqorka iyo saraakiishiisa oo leh, Dad iyo duunyo, lo' iyo ido toona, yaan midna wax dhadhamin, oo yaanay wax cunin, biyona cabbin.
And he made this proclamation and published it in Nineveh: “By the decree of the king and his nobles: People, beast, herd, and flock shall not taste anything; let them not eat nor drink water.
8 Laakiinse dad iyo duunyoba dhar joonyad ah ha la wada huwado, oo Ilaah xaggiisa aad ha loogu qayliyo; oo mid kastaaba ha ka leexdo jidkiisii xumaa iyo dulmiga gacmihiisa ku jira.
Let both people and animals put on sackcloth and let them cry earnestly to God; let them each turn from their evil ways and from the deeds of violence which they are doing.
9 Bal yaa og in Ilaah ka noqon doono oo cadhadiisa kulul ka jeesan doono iyo in kale, si aynaan u halligmin?
Who knows? God may relent and avert his fierce anger, so that we may not die.”
10 Oo markaasaa Ilaah wuxuu arkay shuqulkoodii iyo inay iyagu ka noqdeen jidkoodii xumaa, kolkaasaa Ilaah wuxuu ka noqday sharkii uu sheegay inuu iyaga ku samaynayo; oo taasna ma uu samayn.
When God saw that they turned from their evil course, he relented the evil which he said he would do to them, and did not do it.
