< Xabaquuq 1 >
1 Kanu waa waxa culus ee uu Nebi Xabaquuq arkay.
The oracle of which Habakkuk the prophet, had vision:
2 Rabbiyow, ilaa goormaan kuu qayshadaa, oo adna aadan i maqlayn? Dulmi baan kaaga qayshadaa, oo namana aad badbaadisid.
How long, O Yahweh, have I called out, and thou wouldst not hear me? Have I kept crying unto thee of violence, and thou wouldst not save?
3 Bal maxaad xumaan ii tustaa oo aad qallooc iigu jeedisaa? Waayo, waxaa hortayda yaal halligaad iyo dulmi, oo waxaa kor u kaca dirir iyo dagaal.
Wherefore shouldst thou let me see iniquity, and, wrong, shouldst let me behold, and, force and violence, be straight before me, —and there should have ever been someone who, contention and strife, would uphold?
4 Sidaas daraaddeed sharcigii waa dabcay oo caddaaladduna hore uma socoto, waayo, kii sharrow ah ayaa hareereeya kii xaq ah, oo sidaas daraaddeed garsooridda waa la qalloociyaa.
For which cause, benumbed is the law, and there is never any going forth of justice, —for, the lawless, doth circumvent the righteous, for which cause, justice doth go forth perverted?
5 Bal eega quruumaha dhexdooda, ka fiirsada oo aad u yaaba, waayo, maalmihiinnii waxaan samaynayaa shuqul aydaan rumaysan doonin in kastoo laydiin sheego.
Behold ye, among the nations, and look around, Yea stand stock still—stare, —for, a work, is being wrought in your days, ye will not believe, when it is recounted.
6 Waayo, bal eega, waxaan soo kicinayaa reer Kaldayiin oo ah quruuntaas qadhaadh oo degdegga badan oo dhulka ballaadhkiisa mara inay hantiyaan meelo la dego oo ayan iyagu lahayn.
For, behold me! raising up the Chaldeans, the bitter and headlong nation, —that marcheth to the breadths of the earth, to take possession of habitations, not his.
7 Iyagu waa kuwa laga cabsado oo aad looga baqo; xukunkooda iyo sharaftoodu iyagay ka soo baxaan.
Awful and fearful, is he, —from himself, his decision and his uprising, proceed.
8 Fardahoodu way ka sii dheereeyaan shabeelka, oo way ka sii cabsi badan yihiin yeyda fiidka, oo fardooleydooduna way iskala bixiyaan, haah, oo fardooleydooduna meel fog bay ka yimaadaan, oo waxay u soo duulaan sida gorgor u soo degdegaya inuu wax dhufsado oo cuno.
Then, swifter than leopards, are his horses, and, more sharply they attack, than evening wolves, and forward have leapt his chargers, —Yea, his chargers, from afar, will come in, they will fly as an eagle hath hastened to devour.
9 Dhammaantood waxay u yimaadaan inay wax xoogaan, oo damaca wejigooduna waa sida dabaysha bari, oo waxay urursadaan maxaabiis sida cammuudda u badan.
Solely for violence, will he come, the intent of their faces, is—To the east! And he hath gathered, as the sand, a captive host;
10 Cadowgu boqorro wuu quudhsadaa, oo amiirrona wuu fududaystaa, oo qalcad kastana wuu ku qoslaa, waayo, intuu ciid tuulaa ayuu iska qabsadaa.
And, he, over kings, will make merry, and, nobles, will be a scorn to him: he, at any fortress, will laugh, once he hath heaped up dust, he hath captured it!
11 Markaas sida dabayl buu u dhaafi doonaa, oo wuu sii gudbi doonaa, oo dembi buu lahaan doonaa kan xooggiisu ilaah u yahay.
Then, hath he become arrogant in spirit, and hath committed excess, and so is guilty, —this his violence, is due to his god.
12 Rabbiyow, Ilaahaygiiyow, kayga Quduuska ahow, sow adigu weligaaba ma aad jiri jirin? Annagu dhiman mayno. Rabbiyow, isaga waxaad u diyaarisay xukun, oo waxaad u xoogaysay edbin, kaaga Dhagaxa weyn ahow.
Art not, thou, from of old, O Yahweh, my God, my Holy One? Thou diest not! O Yahweh, to judgment, hast thou appointed him, and, O Rock, to correction, hast thou devoted him:
13 Waxaad tahay mid indhihiisu ka sii daahirsan yihiin inay wax shar ah eegaan, oo qalloocna ma fiirin kartid, haddaba bal maxaad u fiirisaa kuwa khiyaanada sameeya? Oo maxaad u aamusan tahay marka sharrowgu liqo ninka isaga ka sii xaq yahay?
[Thou] whose eyes are too pure to look with approval on wrong, to respect oppression, canst not endure, —Wherefore, shouldst thou respect the treacherous? Be silent, when the lawless, swalloweth up, one more righteous than he?
14 Oo maxaad dadka uga dhigtaa sida kalluunka badda, iyo sida waxa gurguurta oo aan lahayn mid iyaga u taliya?
So wouldst thou have made Men, like the fishes of the sea, —like the creeping thing that hath no ruler over it:
15 Isagu dhammaantood ayuu jillaab ku soo qaataa, oo shabaggiisuu ku soo qabsadaa, oo intuu shabaggiisa ku soo wada urursado ayuu soo jiitaa, haddaba sidaas daraaddeed wuu reyreeyaa oo farxaa.
All of which, with a hook, one bringeth up, raketh together with his drag, and hath gathered with his net, —
16 Haddaba sidaas daraaddeed allabari buu u bixiyaa shabaggiisa, oo fooxna wuu u shidaa shabagguu jiita, maxaa yeelay, iyaga ayaa qaybtiisii ku barwaaqowday, oo quudkiisiina aad iyo aad batay.
On which account, he is glad and exulteth: on which account, he sacrificeth to his Net, and burneth incense to his Drag; because, thereby, rich, is his portion, and his food—fatness!
17 Haddaba miyuu shabaggiisa madhin doonaa, oo miyuu quruumaha had iyo goorba layn doonaa, isagoo aan u tudhin?
Shall he, on this account, empty his net? And, the continual slaying of nations, deem to be no pity?
