Числа 24
1 И видев Валаам, яко добро есть пред Господем благословляти Израиля, не иде по обычаю своему в сретение волхвованием, и возврати лице свое в пустыню.
When Balaam saw that it pleased Jehovah to bless Israel, he did not go, as at the other times, to meet with omens, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
2 И возвед Валаам очи свои, узре Израиля ополчившася по племеном: и бысть Дух Божий на нем.
Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.
3 И восприим притчу свою рече: глаголет Валаам, сын Веоров, глаголет человек истинно зряй,
He took up his parable, and said, "Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eye was closed says;
4 глаголет слушаяй словеса Крепкаго, иже видение Божие виде во сне: отверсты очи его:
he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of Shaddai, falling down, and having his eyes open:
5 коль добри доми твои, Иакове, и кущы твоя, Израилю:
How goodly are your tents, Jacob, and your tents, Israel.
6 яко дубравы осеняющыя и яко садие при реках, и яко кущы, яже водрузи Господь, и яко кедри при водах:
As valleys they are spread forth, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes which Jehovah has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.
7 изыдет человек от семене его, и обладает языки многими: и возвысится паче Гога царство его, и возрастет царство его:
Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.
8 Бог изведе его из Египта, якоже слава единорога ему: пояст языки враг своих и толщы их измождит, и стрелами своими устрелит врага:
God brings him out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox. He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.
9 возлег почи яко лев и яко скимен: кто возбудит его? Благословящии тя благословени, и проклинающии тя прокляти.
He couched, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed."
10 И разгневася Валак на Валаама, и плесну руками своими, и рече Валак к Валааму: кляти тя врага моего призвах, и се, благословил еси их в третие:
Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, "I called you to curse my enemies, and, look, you have altogether blessed them these three times.
11 ныне убо бежи на место свое: рекох, почту тя: и ныне лиши тя Господь славы.
Therefore now flee you to your place. I thought to promote you to great honor; but, look, Jehovah has kept you back from honor."
12 И рече Валаам к Валаку: и послом твоим, ихже послал еси ко мне, не рекох ли, глаголя:
Balaam said to Balak, "Did I not also tell your messengers who you sent to me, saying,
13 аще ми даст Валак храмину свою полну сребра и злата, не могу преступити слова Божия, еже сотворити е зло или добро от мене самаго: елика аще речет ми Бог, сия возглаголю?
'If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can't go beyond the word of Jehovah, to do either good or bad in my heart. I will say what God says'?
14 И ныне, се, иду до места своего: гряди, присоветую тебе, что сотворят людие сии людем твоим, в последняя дни.
Now, look, I go to my people: come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days."
15 И восприим притчу свою рече: глаголет Валаам сын Веоров, глаголет человек истинно зряй,
He took up his parable, and said, "Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eye was closed says;
16 слышай словеса Божия, умея умение Вышняго и видение Божие видевый во сне: отверсты очи его:
he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of Shaddai, falling down, and having his eyes open:
17 покажу ему, и не ныне: ублажаю, и не приближается: возсияет звезда от Иакова, и востанет человек от Израиля и погубит князи Моавитския, и пленит вся сыны Сифовы:
I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and will crush the forehead of Moab, and the crown of all the sons of tumult.
18 и будет Едом наследие, и будет наследие Исав враг его, и Израиль сотвори крепость:
Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemies, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.
19 и востанет от Иакова, и погубит спасаемаго от града.
Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city."
20 И видев Амалика и восприим притчу свою, рече: начало языков Амалик, и семя их погибнет.
He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, "Amalek was the first of the nations, But his latter end shall come to destruction."
21 И видев Кенеона и восприим притчу свою, рече: сильно селение твое: и аще положиши на камени гнездо твое,
He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, "Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.
22 и аще будет Веору гнездо коварства, Ассириане пленят тя.
Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur carries you away captive."
23 И видев Ога и восприим притчу свою, рече: горе, горе, кто жив будет, егда положит Бог сия?
He took up his parable, and said, "Alas, who shall live when God does this?
24 И изыдут из рук Китиейских, и озлобят Ассура, и озлобят Евреов, и сами вкупе погибнут.
But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction."
25 И востав Валаам отиде, возвратився на место свое: и Валак отиде к себе.
Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
