1 Zvino nemusi wekutanga wevhiki, mambakwedza, vakauya kuguva, vakatakura zvinonhuhwira zvavakange vagadzirira, nevamwe vanavo.
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2 Zvino vakawana ibwe rakakunguruswa kubva paguva.
They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3 Vakabva vapinda vakasawana mutumbi waIshe Jesu.
They entered in, and did not find the body of the Lord Yeshua.
4 Zvino vakati vakakanganiswa kwazvo nazvo, zvino tarira, varume vaviri vakamira navo vakapfeka nguvo dzinopenya;
It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, look, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
5 zvino vachiri kutya, ndokukotamisa zviso pasi, varume vakati kwavari: Munotsvakirei mupenyu pavakafa?
Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
6 Haasi pano, asi wamuka; rangarirai kuti wakataura sei kwamuri achiri muGarirea,
He is not here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galila,
7 achiti: Mwanakomana wemunhu anofanira kukumikidzwa mumaoko evanhu vezvivi, nekurovererwa pamuchinjikwa, uye pazuva retatu amukezve.
saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?"
8 Zvino vakarangarira mashoko ake.
Then they remembered his words.
9 Zvino vakadzoka vachibva kuguva, vakaudza zvinhu izvi zvese kuvanegumi neumwe nekune vamwe vese.
And returning from the tomb, they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.

Now they were Maryam Magdelaitha and Yukhan and Maryam the mother of Yaquv and the other women with them told these things to the apostles.

These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they did not believe them.

But Kipha got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.

And look, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emaus, which was about seven miles from Urishlim.

They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
15 Zvino zvakaitika kuti vachitaurirana nekubvunzana, Jesu amene wakaswedera akafamba navo,
It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Yeshua himself came near, and went with them.
16 asi meso avo akange abatwa kuti vasamuziva.
But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
17 Zvino wakati kwavari: Mashoko ei awa amunokurukurirana muchifamba, uye makasuruvara?
And he said to them, "What are these words that you are exchanging with each other as you walk?" And they stood still, looking sad.

One of them, named Qalyopa, answered him, "Are you the only stranger in Urishlim who does not know the things which have happened there in these days?"
19 Zvino akati kwavari: Zvinhui? Ivo vakati kwaari: Zviri maererano naJesu weNazareta, waiva murume muporofita ane simba pachiito nepashoko pamberi paMwari nevanhu vese;
He said to them, "What things?" They said to him, "The things concerning Yeshua, the Natsraya, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;
20 uye kuti vapristi vakuru nevatongi vedu vakamukumikidza sei kuti atongerwe rufu, uye vakamuroverera pamuchinjikwa.
and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;

Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they did not see him."
25 Zvino iye akati kwavari: Haiwa imwi vekusanzwisisa, uye mune moyo ine chinono kutenda zvese vaporofita zvavakataura!
Then he said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken.
26 Ko Kristu wakange asingafaniri kutambudzika nezvinhu izvi, ndokupinda pakubwinya kwake here?
Did not the Meshikha have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?"
27 Ndokutanga kuna Mozisi nekuvaporofita vese, akadudzira kwavari mumagwaro ese zvinhu zviri maererano naye.
Beginning from Mushe and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 Zvino vakaswedera kumusha kwavakange vachienda; iye ndokuita sewopfuurira.
They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
29 Asi vakamumanikidza, vachiti: Garai nesu, nokuti koda kuvira, uye zuva ranyura. Ndokupinda kunogara navo.
They urged him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over." He went in to stay with them.

It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.
31 Zvino meso avo ndokuzarurwa, ndokumuziva; iye ndokunyangarika kwavari.
Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.
32 Zvino vakataurirana vachiti: Moyo wedu wanga usingapisi mukati medu here paanga achitaura nesu munzira, nepaanga achitizarurira magwaro?
And they said to one another, "Weren't our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?"
33 Zvino vakasimuka neawa iroro, vakadzokera kuJerusarema, vakawana vanegumi neumwe vakaungana nevaiva navo,
They rose up that very hour, returned to Urishlim, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,
34 vachiti: Ishe wamuka zvirokwazvo, waonekwa naSimoni.
saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Shimon."

They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

As they said these things, Yeshua himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace be to you."

But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
38 Zvino akati kwavari: Munonetsekerei, uye mifungo inomukirei mumoyo yenyu?
He said to them, "Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39 Tarirai maoko angu netsoka dzangu, kuti ndini ndomene. Ndibatei, muone, nokuti mweya hauna nyama nemafupa, sezvamunoona ndinazvo.
See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones, as you see that I have."
40 Zvino wakati areva izvi akavaratidza maoko netsoka.
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41 Zvino vakati vachigere kutenda nekuda kwekufara vachishamisika, akati kwavari: Mune chinodyika pano here?
While they still did not believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"
42 Zvino vakamupa nhindi yehove yakagochwa neyezinga reuchi.
And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish.
43 Iye ndokutora akadya pamberi pavo.
And he took it and ate in front of them.
44 Zvino wakati kwavari: Awa mashoko andakataura kwamuri ndichiri nemwi, kuti zvinhu zvese zvinofanira kuzadziswa, zvakanyorwa pamurairo waMozisi, nepavaporofita nepaMapisarema maererano neni.
And he said to them, "This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the Law of Mushe, the Prophets, and the Psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled."
45 Ipapo akazarura kunzwisisa kwavo, kuti vanzwisise magwaro.
Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.
46 Ndokuti kwavari: Zvakanyorwa saizvozvi, saizvozvowo zvakafanira Kristu kutambudzika, nekumuka kubva kuvakafa zuva retatu,
He said to them, "Thus it is written, for the Meshikha to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

and that repentance leading to forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Urishlim.

You are witnesses of these things.
49 Zvino tarirai, ini ndinotuma chivimbiso chaBaba vangu pamusoro penyu; asi imwi garai muguta reJerusarema, kusvikira mafukidzwa nesimba rinobva kumusoro.
And look, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
50 Zvino akavatungamirira kunze kusvikira Bhetaniya, ndokusimudza maoko ake akavaropafadza.
He led them out as far as Beth-Naiya, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 Zvino zvakaitika achavaropafadza, akaparadzana navo, akakwidzwa kudenga.
It happened, while he blessed them, that he departed from them, and was carried up into heaven.
52 Zvino vakamunamata, vakadzokera kuJerusarema vane mufaro mukuru;
They worshiped him, and returned to Urishlim with great joy,
53 uye vakagara nguva dzese mutembere, vachirumbidza nekutenda Mwari. Ameni.
and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God.
