1 Asi umwe murume wainzi Ananiasi, naSafira mukadzi wake, wakatengesa nhumbi dzake,
But a certain man named Khananya, with Sapphira, his wife, sold a possession,
2 akazvisiira pamutengo, mukadzi wake achizivawo, akauya nechimwe chikamu, ndokuisa patsoka dzevaapositori.
and kept back part of the price, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part, and put it at the apostles' feet.
3 Asi Petro wakati: Ananiasi, Satani wazadzirei moyo wako kuti ureve nhema kuMweya Mutsvene, nekuzvisiira pamutengo wemunda?
But Kipha said, "Khananya, why has Satana filled your heart to lie to the Rukha d'Qudsha, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
4 Uchiripo hauna kuramba uri wako here, watengeswa wakange usi musimba rako here? Sei waisa mumoyo mako chiito ichi? Hauna kureva nhema kuvanhu, asi kuna Mwari.
While you kept it, did not it remain your own? After it was sold, was not it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to people, but to God."
5 Zvino Ananiasi achinzwa mashoko awa, wakawira pasi, akapera; kutya kukuru ndokuwira pamusoro pevese vakanzwa zvinhu izvi.
Khananya, hearing these words, fell down and died. Great fear came on all who heard it.
6 Nemajaya akasimuka akamuputira ndokutakurira kunze vakamuviga.
The young men arose and wrapped him up, and they carried him out and buried him.
7 Zvino zvakaitika maawa anenge matatu apfuura, kuti mukadzi wake asingazivi zvaitika wakapinda.
About three hours later, his wife, not knowing what had happened, came in.
8 Petro ndokumupindura akati: Ndiudze kana matengesa munda nezvakadai? Ndokuti: Hongu, nezvakadai.
Kipha answered her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for so much." She said, "Yes, for so much."
9 Petro ndokuti kwaari: Sei matenderana kuedza Mweya waIshe? Tarira, tsoka dzevaviga murume wako pamukova, newe vachakutakurira kunze.
But Kipha asked her, "How is it that you have agreed together to tempt the Rukha of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out."
10 Ipapo akawira pasi pakarepo patsoka dzake, akapera; majaya akapinda akamuwana afa, akamutakurira kunze ndokuviga nechepamurume wake.
She fell down immediately at his feet, and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.
11 Kutya kukuru ndokuwira pamusoro pekereke yese nepamusoro pevese vakanzwa zvinhu izvi.
Great fear came on the whole church, and on all who heard these things.
12 Uye nemaoko evaapositori kwakaitwa zviratidzo nezvishamiso zvizhinji pakati pevanhu; uye vese vaiva nemoyo umwe muberere raSoromoni.
By the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. They were all with one accord in Shelemun's porch.
13 Asi pavamwe kwakange kusina munhu wakashinga kuzvisanganisa kwavari; asi vanhu vaivakudza.
None of the rest dared to join them, however the people honored them.
14 Uye vatendi vakanyanya kuwedzerwa kuna Ishe, zvaunga zvinoti zvevarume zvikati zvevakadzi.
More believers were added to the Lord, crowds of both men and women.
15 Zvekuti vatakurira kunze varwere munzira dzemuguta, uye vakaradzika pamibhedha nepanhovo, kuti kana Petro achiuya, kunyange mumvuri udzikatire umwe wavo.
They even carried out the sick into the streets, and put them on cots and mats, so that as Kipha came by at the least his shadow would fall on some of them.
16 Zvino kwakaunganawo chaunga chemaguta akapoteredza kuJerusarema, vachitakura varwere, nevaitambudzwa nemweya yetsvina, vakaporeswa vese.
Crowds also came together from the cities around Urishlim, bringing sick people, and those who were tormented by unclean spirits: and they were all healed.
17 Zvino mupristi mukuru akasimuka, nevese vaiva naye vari sangano reVaSadhusi, vakazara negodo,
But the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy,
18 vakaisa maoko avo pavaapositori vakavaisa mutirongo revanhu vese.
and laid hands on the apostles, and put them in public custody.
19 Asi mutumwa waIshe neusiku wakazarura mikova yetirongo akavabudisa akati:
But an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors by night, and brought them out, and said,
20 Endai, mugomira muchitaura mutembere kuvanhu ese mashoko eupenyu uhu.
"Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life."
21 Zvino vakati vanzwa, vakapinda mutembere mangwanani-ngwanani vakadzidzisa. Asi mupristi mukuru wakasvika nevaiva naye, vakakokera dare remakurukota pamwe neungano yese yedare revakuru revana vaIsraeri, vakatumira mapurisa kutirongo kuti vauiswe.
When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak, and taught. But the high priest came, and those who were with him, and called the council together, and all the elders of the people of Israyel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.
22 Asi mapurisa akati achisvika, akasavawana mutirongo; akadzoka akapira shoko,
But the officers who came did not find them in the prison. They returned and reported,
23 achiti: Tirongo zvirokwazvo takawana rakavharwa nekuchengetedzwa kwese, nevarindi vamire panze pamberi pemikova; asi tati tazarura, mukati hatina kuwana munhu.
"We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside."
24 Zvino mupristi nemutungamiriri wetembere nevapristi vakuru vakati vanzwa mashoko iwayo, vakasava nechokwadi pamusoro pavo, kuti izvi zvichazovei.
Now when the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this.
25 Zvino kwakasvika umwe akavaudza achiti: Tarirai, varume vamakaisa mutirongo vamire mutembere vachidzidzisa vanhu.
One came and told them, "Look, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people."
26 Zvino mutungamiriri nemapurisa vakaenda vakauya navo kwete nesimba, nokuti vaitya vanhu kuti vasatakwa nemabwe.
Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them.
27 Vakati vavauisa vakavamisa pamberi pedare remakurukota. Mupristi mukuru ndokuvabvunza,
When they had brought them, they set them before the council. The high priest questioned them,
28 achiti: Hatina kukurairisai kuti musadzidzisa nezita iri here? Zvino tarirai, mazadza Jerusarema nedzidziso yenyu, uye muchishuva kuuisa ropa remunhu uyu pamusoro pedu.
saying, "Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Urishlim with your teaching, and intend to bring this man's blood on us."
29 Zvino Petro nevaapositori vakapindura vakati: Zvakafanira kuteerera Mwari kupfuura vanhu.
But Kipha and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than people.
30 Mwari wemadzibaba edu wakamutsa Jesu, iye wamakauraya imwi, mukaremberedza pamuti.
The God of our fathers raised up Yeshua, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree.
31 Iye uyu Mwari wakamusimudza neruoko rwake rwerudyi, ave Muvambi neMuponesi, kupa Israeri kutendeuka nekanganwiro yezvivi.
God exalted him with his right hand to be a Leader and a Savior, to give repentance to Israyel, and forgiveness of sins.
32 Uye isu tiri zvapupu zvake zvezvinhu izvi, neMweya Mutsvenewo, Mwari waakapa avo vanomuteerera.
We are witnesses of these things; and so also is the Rukha d'Qudsha, whom God has given to those who obey him."
33 Zvino vakati vanzwa vakashatirwa kwazvo, vakarangana kuvauraya.
But they, when they heard this, were furious, and wanted to kill them.
34 Ipapo kukasimuka umwe padare remakurukota, muFarisi wainzi Gamarieri, mudzidzisi wemurairo, waikudzwa nevanhu vese, akaraira kuti vaapositori vabudiswe chinguva chidiki.
But one stood up in the council, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Law, honored by all the people, and commanded to put the men out for a little while.
35 Ndokuti kwavari: Varume VaIsraeri, zvichenjererei maererano nevanhu ava, zvamoda kuita.
He said to them, "You men of Israyel, be careful concerning these men, what you are about to do.
36 Nokuti mazuva ano asati asvika kwakamuka Tudhasi, achiti iye pachake wakange ari munhu, uwandu hwevanhu hunenge mazana mana vakazvisanganisa naye; iye wakaurawa, nevese vaimuteerera neuwandu hwavo vakaparadzirwa, vakava pasina.
For before these days Todah rose up, making himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed, and came to nothing.
37 Shure kweuyu kukamuka Judhasi muGarirea, pamazuva ekuverengwa, akakwevera vanhu vazhinji shure kwake; iyewo wakaparara, nevese vakamuteerera neuwandu hwavo vakaparadzirwa.
After this man, Yehudah of Galila rose up in the days of the enrollment, and drew away some people after him. He also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.
38 Zvino ikozvino ndinoti kwamuri: Sudurukai kuvanhu ava, muvarege, nokuti kana zano iri kana basa iri riri revanhu, richaparadzwa.
Now I tell you, withdraw from these men, and leave them alone. For if this counsel or this work is of human origin, it will be overthrown.
39 Asi kana zviri zvaMwari, hamugoni kuzviparadza; kuti zvimwe muwanikwe muchirwa naMwariwo.
But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them, and you would be found even to be fighting against God."
40 Vakamuteerera; uye vakati vadanira vaapositori kwavari vakavarova, vakavaraira kusataura muzita raJesu, vakavaregedza.
They agreed with him. Summoning the apostles, they beat them and commanded them not to speak in the name of Yeshua, and let them go.
41 Naizvozvo vakabva pazviso zvedare remakurukota, vachifara kuti vakafanirwa nekuzvidzwa nekuda kwezita rake.
They therefore departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.
42 Uye mazuva ese mutembere nepaimba imwe neimwe havana kumira kudzidzisa nekuparidza Jesu Kristu.
Every day, in the temple and at home, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming that Yeshua is the Meshikha.
