1 Nokufamba kwenguva, Dhavhidhi akakunda vaFiristia vakava pasi pake, uye akatora Metegi Ama kubva mumaoko avaFiristia.
After this it happened that David struck the Philistines, and subdued them, and David took the bridle of Ammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 Dhavhidhi akakundawo vaMoabhu. Akavavatisa pasi akavayera netambo. Aiti akaera kaviri netambo vanhu ivavo vourayiwa, asi avo vaipinda pachiero chikamu chimwe chete kubva muzvitatu vaitenderwa kurarama. Naizvozvo vaMoabhu vakaitwa varanda naDhavhidhi uye vakabvisiswa mutero.
He struck Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. The Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
3 Pamusoro paizvozvo, Dhavhidhi akarwisa Hadhadhezeri mwanakomana waRehobhi, mambo weZobha, paakaenda kundotorazve nyika yaiva mujinga morwizi Yufuratesi.
David struck also Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.
4 Dhavhidhi akamutorera ngoro dzamabhiza chiuru, vachairi vengoro zviuru zvinomwe navarwi vaifamba netsoka zviuru makumi maviri. Akaremadza makumbo eshure amabhiza ose kusiya kwezana rimwe chete raikweva ngoro.
And David took from him a thousand of his chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for one hundred chariots.
5 Zvino vaAramu veDhamasiko vakati vauya kuzobatsira Hadhadhezeri mambo weZobha, Dhavhidhi akauraya zviuru makumi maviri nezviviri pakati pavo.
When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck of the Arameans two and twenty thousand men.
6 Akaisa mapoka avarwi munyika yavaAramu yeDhamasiko, vaAramu vakava varanda vake vakabvisiswa mutero. Jehovha akaita kuti Dhavhidhi akunde kwose kwose kwaakaenda.
Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus; and the Arameans became servants to David, and brought tribute. Jehovah gave victory to David wherever he went.
7 Dhavhidhi akatora nhoo dzegoridhe dzakanga dziri dzamakurukota aHadhadhezeri, akauya nadzo kuJerusarema.
And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem, which, later on, were also taken by Shishak king of Egypt in the days of Rehoboam son of Solomon when he went up to Jerusalem.
8 Mambo Dhavhidhi akatora ndarira zhinji kwazvo kubva paTebha neBherotai, maguta akanga ari aHadhadhezeri.
From Tebah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took a very great amount of bronze.
9 Zvino Tou mambo weHamati akati anzwa kuti Dhavhidhi akanga akunda hondo yose yaHadhadhezeri,
When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer,
10 akatuma mwanakomana wake Joramu kuna Mambo Dhavhidhi kundomukwazisa nokumukorokotedza pamusoro pokukunda kwaakanga aita Hadhadhezeri pakurwa, uye akanga amborwisana naTou. Joramu akauya nemidziyo yesirivha neyegoridhe neyendarira.
then Toi sent Hadoram his son to king David, to greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And he brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze.
11 Mambo Dhavhidhi akakumikidza midziyo iyi kuna Jehovha, sezvaakanga aita nesirivha negoridhe yakanga yabva kundudzi dzose dzaakanga akunda dzinoti:
The King also dedicated these to Jehovah, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;
12 Edhomu neMoabhu, vaAmoni navaFiristia, neAmareki. Akakumikidzazve zvaakanga apamba kubva kuna Hadhadhezeri mwanakomana waRehobhi, mambo weZobha.
of Edom, and of Moab, and of the people of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
13 Uye Dhavhidhi akava nomukurumbira paakadzoka kundouraya gumi rezviuru nezviuru zvisere zvavaEdhomu paMupata weMunyu.
And David made a name for himself when he returned from defeating the Arameans. And Abishai son of Zeruiah defeated the Edomites in the Valley of Salt--eighteen thousand.
14 Akaisa mapoka avarwi munyika yose yeEdhomu, vaEdhomu vose vakava varanda vaDhavhidhi. Jehovha akaita kuti Dhavhidhi akunde kwose kwaakaenda.
And he put a garrison in Edom, and all the Edomites became servants of the King. Jehovah gave victory to David wherever he went.
15 Dhavhidhi akabata ushe pamusoro peIsraeri yose, achiita zvakarurama nezvakanaka kuvanhu vose.
And David reigned over Israel, exercising justice and righteousness for all his people.
16 Joabhu mwanakomana waZeruya aiva mukuru wehondo; Jehoshafati mwanakomana waAhirudhi aiva muchengeti wemidziyo,
And Joab the son of Zeruiah was in charge of the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
17 Zadhoki mwanakomana waAhitubhi naAhimereki mwanakomana waAbhiatari vaiva vaprista; Seraya aiva munyori;
and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abiathar the son of Ahimelech, were priests; and Shisha was scribe;
18 Bhenaya mwanakomana waJehoyadha aiva mutariri wavaKereti navaPereti; uye vanakomana vaDhavhidhi vaiva vapi vamazano vamambo.
and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada supervised the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were chief ministers.
