Sudije 8
1 A ljudi od plemena Jefremova rekoše mu: šta nam to uèini te nas ne pozva kad poðe u boj na Madijane? I vikahu na nj žestoko.
And they said to him [the] man of Ephraim what? [is] the thing this [which] you have done to us to not to summon us that you went to fight against Midian and they quarreled! with him with force.
2 A on im reèe: pa šta sam uèinio tako kao vi? nije li pabirèenje Jefremovo bolje nego berba Avijezerova?
And he said to them what? have I done now like you ¿ not good [are] [the] gleanings of Ephraim more than [the] grape harvest of Abiezer.
3 Vama je u ruke dao Gospod knezove Madijanske, Oriva i Ziva; pa što ja mogoh uèiniti tako kao vi? Tada se utiša duh njihov prema njemu kad tako govori.
In hand your he has given God [the] commanders of Midian Oreb and Zeeb and what? have I been able to do like you then it relaxed spirit their from on him when said he the word this.
4 A kad Gedeon doðe na Jordan, prijeðe preko njega s trista ljudi koji bjehu s njim, a bjehu umorni goneæi.
And he came Gideon the Jordan towards [was] passing over he and three hundred the man who [were] with him [were] exhausted and pursuing.
5 Pa reèe ljudima Sokoæanima: dajte nekoliko hljebova narodu koji ide za mnom, jer su umorni, a ja gonim Zeveja i Salmana careve Madijanske.
And he said to [the] people of Succoth give please round loaves of bread to the people which [is] at feet my for [are] exhausted they and I [am] pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna [the] kings of Midian.
6 A glavari Sokotski rekoše mu: je li pesnica Zevejeva i Salmanova veæ u tvojoj ruci da damo hljeba tvojoj vojsci?
And he said [the] officials of Succoth ¿ [is] [the] hand of Zebah and Zalmunna now in hand your that we will give to army your bread.
7 A Gedeon im reèe: kad mi Bog preda Zeveja i Salmana u ruku, tada æu pomlatiti tjelesa vaša trnjem iz ove pustinje i draèom.
And he said Gideon therefore when gives Yahweh Zebah and Zalmunna in hand my and I will thresh flesh your with thorns of the wilderness and with briers.
8 I otide odande u Fanuil, i reèe Fanuiljanima isto onako, a oni mu odgovoriše kao što odgovoriše ljudi u Sokotu.
And he went up from there Penuel and he spoke to them like this and they answered him [the] men of Penuel just as they had answered [the] men of Succoth.
9 Zato i ljudima Fanuiljanima reèe: kad se vratim zdravo, razvaliæu tu kulu.
And he said also to [the] men of Penuel saying when return I in peace I will tear down the tower this.
10 A Zevej i Salman bijahu u Karkoru, i vojska njihova s njima, oko petnaest tisuæa, što ih god osta od sve vojske istoène; a pobijenijeh bijaše sto i dvadeset tisuæa ljudi koji mahahu maèem.
And Zebah and Zalmunna [were] in Karkor and armies their [were] with them about fif-teen thousand all those [who] remained of all [the] army of [the] people of [the] east and those [who] fell [were] one hundred and twenty thousand man [who] drew [the] sword.
11 I otide Gedeon preko onijeh što žive pod šatorima, s istoka Novi i Jogveji, i udari na vojsku kad vojska stajaše bezbrižna.
And he went up Gideon [the] way of those [who] dwell in tents from [the] east of Nobah and Jogbehah and he attacked the army and the army it was security.
12 A Zevej i Salman pobjegoše, a on ih potjera, i uhvati dva cara Madijanska, Zeveja i Salmana, i raspudi svu vojsku.
And they fled Zebah and Zalmunna and he pursued after them and he captured [the] two - [the] kings of Midian Zebah and Zalmunna and all the army he routed.
13 I vrati se Gedeon sin Joasov iz boja prije sunèanoga roðaja.
And he returned Gideon [the] son of Joash from the battle from to [the] ascent of Heres.
14 I uhvati momka iz Sokota, i ispitiva ga; a on mu popisa knezove Sokotske i starješine, sedamdeset i sedam ljudi.
And he captured a young man one of [the] men of Succoth and he enquired of him and he wrote down to him [the] officials of Succoth and elders its seventy and seven man.
15 Pa kad doðe k Sokoæanima, reèe: evo Zeveja i Salmana, za koje mi se rugaste govoreæi: je li pesnica Zevejeva i Salmanova veæ u tvojoj ruci, da damo hljeba umornijem ljudima tvojim?
And he came to [the] men of Succoth and he said here! Zebah and Zalmunna whom you taunted me saying ¿ [is] [the] hand of Zebah and Zalmunna now in hand your that we will give to men your weary bread.
16 I uzevši starješine onoga mjesta i trnja iz pustinje i draèe dade na njima ugled Sokoæanima.
And he took [the] elders of the city and [the] thorns of the wilderness and the briers and he taught with them [the] men of Succoth.
17 I kulu Fanuilsku razvali i pobi ljude tamošnje.
And [the] tower of Penuel he tore down and he killed [the] men of the city.
18 Potom reèe Zeveju i Salmanu: kaki bjehu ljudi koje pobiste na Tavoru? A oni rekoše: taki kao ti; svaki bješe na oèima kao carski sin.
And he said to Zebah and to Zalmunna where? [are] the men whom you killed at Tabor (and they said *L(abh)*) like you like them one [was] like [the] appearance of [the] sons of the king.
19 A on reèe: to bjehu moja braæa, sinovi moje matere. Tako Gospod bio živ! da ste ih ostavili u životu, ne bih vas pogubio.
And he said [were] brothers my [the] sons of mother my they [by] [the] life of Yahweh if you had let live them not I killed you.
20 Tada reèe Jeteru prvencu svojemu: ustani, pogubi ih. Ali dijete ne izvuèe maèa svojega, jer se bojaše, jer bješe još dijete.
And he said to Jether firstborn his arise kill them and not he drew the young man sword his for he was afraid for still he [was] a young man.
21 Tada reèe Zevej i Salman: ustani ti, uloži na nas; jer kakav je èovjek onaka mu je i snaga. I ustavši Gedeon pogubi Zeveja i Salmana, i uze mjeseèiæe koji bijahu o vratovima kamila njihovijeh.
And he said Zebah and Zalmunna arise you and fall on us for [is] like the man strength his and he arose Gideon and he killed Zebah and Zalmunna and he took the ornaments which [were] on [the] necks of camels their.
22 Potom rekoše Izrailjci Gedeonu: budi nam gospodar ti i sin tvoj i sin sina tvojega, jer si nas izbavio iz ruke Madijanske.
And they said [the] man of Israel to Gideon rule over us both you as well as son your as well as [the] son of son your for you have delivered us from [the] hand of Midian.
23 A Gedeon im reèe: neæu vam ja biti gospodar, niti æe vam sin moj biti gospodar; Gospod æe vam biti Gospodar.
And he said to them Gideon not I will rule I over you and not he will rule son my over you Yahweh he will rule over you.
24 Još im reèe Gedeon: jedno æu iskati od vas: da mi date svaki grivnu od plijena svojega. A grivne imahu zlatne, jer bjehu Ismailjci.
And he said to them Gideon let me ask from you a petition and give to me everyone earring of plunder his for earrings of gold [belonged] to them for [were] Ishmaelites they.
25 I odgovoriše: daæemo drage volje. I razastrvši haljinu bacaše na nju grivne, svaki od plijena svojega.
And they said certainly we will give [them] and they spread out the garment and they threw there towards everyone earring of plunder his.
26 I bješe na mjeru zlatnijeh grivana što iziska tisuæa i sedam stotina sikala zlata, osim mjeseèiæa i lanèiæa i haljina skerletnijeh, što nošahu carevi Madijanski, i osim litarova, što bijahu oko vrata kamila njihovijeh.
And it was [the] weight of [the] earrings of gold which he asked for one thousand and seven hundred gold apart from the ornaments and the pendants and [the] garments of purple that [were] on [the] kings of Midian and apart from the necklaces which [were] on [the] necks of camels their.
27 I Gedeon naèini od toga opleæak, i ostavi ga u svojem gradu Ofri; i ondje sav Izrailj stade èiniti preljubu za njim, i bi Gedeonu i domu njegovu zamka.
And he made it Gideon into an ephod and he placed it in city his in Ophrah and they acted as prostitutes all Israel after it there and it became for Gideon and for household his a snare.
28 Tako biše pokoreni Madijani pred sinovima Izrailjevijem, i više ne digoše glave. I zemlja bi mirna èetrdeset godina za vijeka Gedeonova.
And it was subdued Midian before [the] people of Israel and not they repeated to lift up head their and it was at peace the land forty year[s] in [the] days of Gideon.
29 I otišav Jeroval sin Joasov osta u svojoj kuæi.
And he went Jerub-Baal [the] son of Joash and he dwelt in own house his.
30 A imaše Gedeon sedamdeset sinova, koji izidoše od bedara njegovijeh, jer imaše mnogo žena.
And to Gideon they belonged seventy sons [who] came out of thigh his for wives many they belonged to him.
31 A inoèa njegova, koja bijaše u Sihemu, i ona mu rodi sina, i nadje mu ime Avimeleh.
And concubine his who [was] in Shechem she bore to him also she a son and he made name his Abimelech.
32 Potom umrije Gedeon sin Joasov u dobroj starosti, i bi pogreben u grobu Joasa oca svojega Avijezerita u Ofri.
And he died Gideon [the] son of Joash in old age good and he was buried in [the] tomb of Joash father his in Ophrah of [the] Abi-ezrite[s].
33 A kad umrije Gedeon, opet sinovi Izrailjevi èiniše preljubu za Valima, i postaviše sebi Val-Verita za boga.
And it was just when he had died Gideon and they turned back [the] people of Israel and they acted as prostitutes after the Baals and they made for themselves Baal-Berith into god.
34 I ne sjeæaše se sinovi Izrailjevi Gospoda Boga svojega, koji ih je izbavio iz ruku svijeh neprijatelja njihovijeh unaokolo,
And not they remembered [the] people of Israel Yahweh God their who delivered them from [the] hand of all enemies their from round about.
35 I ne uèiniše milosti domu Jerovala Gedeona prema svemu dobru što je on uèinio Izrailju.
And not they did loyalty with [the] house of Jerub-Baal Gideon according to all the good which he had done with Israel.
