Amos 3
1 Èujte rijeè koju govori Gospod za vas, sinovi Izrailjevi, za sve pleme koje sam izveo iz zemlje Misirske, govoreæi:
Hear ye this word, which Yahweh hath spoken, concerning you, ye sons of Israel, —concerning the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt saying: —
2 Samo vas poznah izmeðu svijeh plemena zemaljskih, zato æu vas pohoditi za sva bezakonja vaša.
Only you, have I acknowledged, of all the families of the ground, For this cause, will I visit upon you all your iniquities.
3 Hoæe li dvojica iæi zajedno, ako se ne sastanu?
Can two walk together, —except they meet?
4 Hoæe li riknuti lav u šumi, ako nema lova? hoæe li laviæ pustiti glas svoj iz peæine svoje, ako ne uhvati što?
Will a lion roar in the forest, when, prey, he hath none? Will a young lion utter his voice out of his den, when he hath made no capture?
5 Hoæe li ptica pasti u mrežu na zemlju, ako nema zamke? hoæe li se dignuti mreža sa zemlje, ako se ništa ne uhvati?
Will a bird fall upon a net to the earth, when there is no, snare, for it? Will a net rise from the ground, when it hath, captured nothing?
6 Hoæe li truba trubiti po gradu, a narod da ne dotrèi uplašen? hoæe li biti nesreæa u gradu, a Gospod da je ne uèini?
Or a horn be blown in a city, and, a people, not tremble? Or calamity happen in a city, and, Yahweh, not have wrought with effect?
7 Jer Gospod Gospod ne èini ništa ne otkrivši tajne svoje slugama svojim prorocima.
Surely My Lord Yahweh, will do, nothing, —except he have disclosed his secret unto his servants, the prophets!
8 Kad lav rikne, ko se neæe bojati? kad Gospod reèe, ko neæe prorokovati?
A lion, hath roared, Who will not fear? My Lord Yahweh, hath spoken, Who can forbear to prophesy?
9 Oglasite po dvorovima Azotskim i po dvorovima u zemlji Misirskoj, i recite: skupite se na gore Samarijske i vidite velike nerede u njoj i nasilje u njoj.
Announce it over the palaces in Ashdod, and over the palaces in the land of Egypt, —and say ye—Gather yourselves together upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold ye—the great disorders in the midst thereof, and the oppressed within her.
10 Ne znaju èiniti pravo, govori Gospod, sabiraju blago nasiljem i grabežem u dvorima svojim.
Therefore do they not know how to do right, Declareth Yahweh, who are treasuring up violence and spoil in their palaces.
11 Zato ovako veli Gospod Gospod: neprijatelj je oko zemlje i oboriæe ti silu tvoju, i oplijeniæe se dvorovi tvoji.
Therefore—Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, An adversary! Yea round about the land, —and he who shall bring down, from thee, thy strength, And spoiled shall be thy palaces.
12 Ovako veli Gospod: kao kad pastir istrgne iz usta lavu dvije golijeni ili kraj od uha, tako æe se istrgnuti sinovi Izrailjevi koji sjede u Samariji na uglu od odra i nakraj postelje.
Thus, saith Yahweh, Just as a shepherd rescueth, out of the mouth of the lion, a couple of shankbones, or the tip of an ear, so, shall be rescued the sons of Israel, who are tarrying in Samaria, in the corner of the divan, and on the damask of the luxurious couch.
13 Èujte i zasvjedoèite u domu Jakovljevu, govori Gospod Gospod Bog nad vojskama.
Hear ye and bear witness, throughout the house of Jacob, —Commandeth My Lord, Yahweh, God of hosts:
14 Kad pohodim Izrailja za grijehe njegove, tada æu pohoditi i oltare Vetiljske, i odbiæe se rogovi oltaru i pašæe na zemlju.
That, in the day I visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, then will I punish, concerning the altars of Bethel, So shall the horns of the altar, be broken off, and they shall fall to the ground;
15 I udariæu kuæu zimnu i ljetnu kuæu, i propašæe kuæe od slonove kosti, i nestaæe velikih kuæa, govori Gospod.
And I will smite the winter house along with the summer house, —and the houses of ivory, shall be destroyed! and the great houses, shall disappear, Declareth Yahweh.
