1 anantara. m naviinam aakaa"sama. n.dala. m naviinaa p. rthivii ca mayaa d. r.s. te yata. h prathamam aakaa"sama. n.dala. m prathamaa p. rthivii ca lopa. m gate samudro. api tata. h para. m na vidyate|
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away: and the sea was no more.
2 apara. m svargaad avarohantii pavitraa nagarii, arthato naviinaa yiruu"saalamapurii mayaa d. r.s. taa, saa varaaya vibhuu. sitaa kanyeva susajjitaasiit|
And I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven, from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 anantara. m svargaad e. sa mahaaravo mayaa "sruta. h pa"syaaya. m maanavai. h saarddham ii"svarasyaavaasa. h, sa tai. h saarddha. m vatsyati te ca tasya prajaa bhavi. syanti, ii"svara"sca svaya. m te. saam ii"svaro bhuutvaa tai. h saarddha. m sthaasyati|
And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them: and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them, their God.
4 te. saa. m netrebhya"scaa"sruu. ni sarvvaa. nii"svare. na pramaark. syante m. rtyurapi puna rna bhavi. syati "sokavilaapakle"saa api puna rna bhavi. syanti, yata. h prathamaani sarvvaa. ni vyatiitini|
And he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death; neither shall there be any more sorrow, nor crying, nor pain; for the former things have passed away.
5 apara. m si. mhaasanopavi. s.to jano. avadat pa"syaaha. m sarvvaa. ni nuutaniikaromi| punaravadat likha yata imaani vaakyaani satyaani vi"svaasyaani ca santi|
And he that sat upon the throne said: Behold, I make all things new. And he said to me: Write, for these words are true and faithful.
6 pana rmaam avadat samaapta. m, aha. m ka. h k. sa"sca, aham aadiranta"sca ya. h pipaasati tasmaa aha. m jiivanadaayiprasrava. nasya toya. m vinaamuulya. m daasyaami|
And he said to me: It is done; I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him that thirsts, I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 yo jayati sa sarvve. saam adhikaarii bhavi. syati, aha nca tasye"svaro bhavi. syaami sa ca mama putro bhavi. syati|
He that overcomes, shall inherit these things, and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 kintu bhiitaanaam avi"svaasinaa. m gh. r.nyaanaa. m narahant. r.naa. m ve"syaagaaminaa. m mohakaanaa. m devapuujakaanaa. m sarvve. saam an. rtavaadinaa ncaa. m"so vahnigandhakajvalitahrade bhavi. syati, e. sa eva dvitiiyo m. rtyu. h| (Limnē Pyr )
But the fearful, and the unbelieving, and the detestable, and murderers and lewd persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. (Limnē Pyr )

And there came one of the seven angels that had the seven cups full of the seven last plagues; and he talked with me, saying: Come hither, and I will show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.
10 tata. h sa aatmaavi. s.ta. m maam atyucca. m mahaaparvvatame. mka niitve"svarasya sannidhita. h svargaad avarohantii. m yiruu"saalamaakhyaa. m pavitraa. m nagarii. m dar"sitavaan|
And he carried me away in spirit to a mountain, great and high, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
11 saa ii"svariiyaprataapavi"si. s.taa tasyaastejo mahaargharatnavad arthata. h suuryyakaantama. nitejastulya. m|
having the glory of God: that which gave it light was like a most costly stone, like jasper-stone, brilliant as crystal.
12 tasyaa. h praaciira. m b. rhad ucca nca tatra dvaada"sa gopuraa. ni santi tadgopuropari dvaada"sa svargaduutaa vidyante tatra ca dvaada"sa naamaanyarthata israayeliiyaanaa. m dvaada"sava. m"saanaa. m naamaani likhitaani|
It had a wall, great and high; and it had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel;
13 puurvvadi"si trii. ni gopuraa. ni uttaradi"si trii. ni gopuraa. ni dak. si. nadi. si trii. ni gopuraa. ni pa"sciimadi"si ca trii. ni gopuraa. ni santi|
on the east, three gates; on the north, three gates; on the south, three gates; and on the west, three gates.
14 nagaryyaa. h praaciirasya dvaada"sa muulaani santi tatra me. saa"saavaakasya dvaada"sapreritaanaa. m dvaada"sa naamaani likhitaani|
And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 anara. m nagaryyaastadiiyagopuraa. naa. m tatpraaciirasya ca maapanaartha. m mayaa sambhaa. samaa. nasya duutasya kare svar. namaya eka. h parimaa. nada. n.da aasiit|
And he that talked with me had a measure, a golden reed, that he might measure the city, and its gates, and its wall.
16 nagaryyaa aak. rti"scaturasraa tasyaa dairghyaprasthe same| tata. h para. m sa tega parimaa. nada. n.dena taa. m nagarii. m parimitavaan tasyaa. h parimaa. na. m dvaada"sasahasranalvaa. h| tasyaa dairghya. m prastham uccatva nca samaanaani|
And the city lies square: and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs: the length, and the breadth, and the hight of it are equal.
17 apara. m sa tasyaa. h praaciira. m parimitavaan tasya maanavaasyaarthato duutasya parimaa. naanusaaratastat catu"scatvaari. m"sadadhikaa"satahastaparimita. m |
And he measured the wall of it, a hundred and forty-four cubits, the measure of a man, that is, of an angel.
18 tasya praaciirasya nirmmiti. h suuryyakaantama. nibhi rnagarii ca nirmmalakaacatulyena "suddhasuvar. nena nirmmitaa|
And the wall of it was built of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.
19 nagaryyaa. h praaciirasya muulaani ca sarvvavidhamahaarghama. nibhi rbhuu. sitaani| te. saa. m prathama. m bhittimuula. m suuryyakaantasya, dvitiiya. m niilasya, t. rtiiya. m taamrama. ne. h, caturtha. m marakatasya,
And the foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every costly stone: the first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;
20 pa ncama.m vaiduuryyasya, sa.s.tha.m "so.naratnasya, saptama.m candrakaantasya, a.s.tama.m gomedasya, navama.m padmaraagasya, da"sama.m la"suuniiyasya, ekaada"sa.m.serojasya, dvaada"sa.m mar.tii.sma.ne"scaasti|
the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, crysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.
21 dvaada"sagopuraa. ni dvaada"samuktaabhi rnirmmitaani, ekaika. m gopuram ekaikayaa muktayaa k. rta. m nagaryyaa mahaamaarga"scaacchakaacavat nirmmalasuvar. nena nirmmita. m|
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, like clear glass.
22 tasyaa antara ekamapi mandira. m mayaa na d. r.s. ta. m sata. h sarvva"saktimaan prabhu. h parame"svaro me. sa"saavaka"sca svaya. m tasya mandira. m|
And I saw no temple in it: for the Lord God the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple.
23 tasyai nagaryyai diiptidaanaartha. m suuryyaacandramaso. h prayojana. m naasti yata ii"svarasya prataapastaa. m diipayati me. sa"saavaka"sca tasyaa jyotirasti|
And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God gave it light, and the lamp of it is the Lamb.
24 paritraa. napraaptalokanivahaa"sca tasyaa aaloke gamanaagamane kurvvanti p. rthivyaa raajaana"sca svakiiya. m prataapa. m gaurava nca tanmadhyam aanayanti|
And the nations shall walk by the light of it; and the kings of the earth bring their glory and their honor into it.
25 tasyaa dvaaraa. ni divaa kadaapi na rotsyante ni"saapi tatra na bhavi. syati|
And its gates shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 sarvvajaatiinaa. m gauravaprataapau tanmadhyam aane. syete|
And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
27 parantvapavitra. m gh. r.nyak. rd an. rtak. rd vaa kimapi tanmadhya. m na pravek. syati me. sa"saavakasya jiivanapustake ye. saa. m naamaani likhitaani kevala. m ta eva pravek. syanti|
And there shall not enter it any thing unclean, or that does what is detestable, or that makes a lie: but those who are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
