First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone—

for kings and all those in authority—so that we may lead tranquil and quiet lives in all godliness and dignity.

3 Mahi asa, le Pathien mi Sanminringpu râisân ruo piel ania:

This is good and pleasing in the sight of God our Savior,

4 ama'n mi murdi sanminringa an om rang le chongtak an riet rangin a nuom ngâi ani.

who wants everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

5 Pathien hih inkhat vai aoma, male Pathien le miriemngei minchunpu inkhat vai aom nôka, miriem Khrista Jisua hah,

For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,

6 miriem jât pumpui ratanna ranga ân pêkpu hah ani. Maha Pathien'n mi murdi sanminring rangin a nuom ti azora taka riet minthâr ani,

who gave Himself as a ransom for all—the testimony that was given at just the right time.

7 male masika han kêng keima hi taksônna le chongtak thurchi phuong rangin, Jentailngei kôm tîrton le minchupua tîr ki ni. Milak tho mu unga; chongtak kêng ki ril!

For this reason I was appointed as a preacher, an apostle, and a faithful and true teacher of the Gentiles. I am telling the truth; I am not lying about anything.

8 Koiindang inkhôm tina pasal Pathiena ânpêk ngeiin an kut inthieng ngei pharin, takminsi loiin le inkhal loiin chubaitho senla ngei ku nuom ani.

Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.

9 Ma angdênin, nupangngei khom sillebomngei ahundôr le satak le balam takin invo senla ngeia, samphierin mini, rângkachakin mini, lungmantamin mini, rovo mantamin mini invo no rese ngei ku nuom sa,

Likewise, I want the women to adorn themselves with respectable apparel, with modesty, and with self-control, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,

10 hannirese, nupang sakhuotienga mi inti ngei ha chu an inhoi lam takin sin sân invo rese ngei.

but with good deeds, as is proper for women who profess to worship God.

11 Nupangngei chu dâirekin le rangâiinchîna murdi'n an inchu rang ani.

A woman must learn in quietness and full submissiveness.

12 Mi minchu rangin mini, aninônchu pasal chunga rachamnei rangin mini phal mu unga; an dâirek ngêt rang ani.

I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; she is to remain quiet.

13 Asikchu Adam hah sin bak ania, male kêng Eve hah sin ani.

For Adam was formed first, and then Eve.

14 Male huonga om hah Adam nimaka; nupang ha ke huongin aoma, Pathien balam a siet ani.

And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman who was deceived and fell into transgression.

15 Aniatachu nupang hah nâingei a neina sikin sanminringin om atih, taksônna le lungkhamna male inthiengna ngei leh inpâkpuiloiin duoiloiin a tuongdier ngâiin chu.

Women, however, will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith, love, and holiness, with self-control.
