1 Ну те фэли ку зиуа де мыне, кэч ну штий че поате адуче о зи!
Boast not thyself of to-morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
2 Сэ те лауде алтул, ну гура та, ун стрэин, ну бузеле тале!
Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
3 Пятра есте гря ши нисипул есте греу, дар супэраря пе каре о причинуеште небунул есте май гря декыт амындоуэ.
A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's vexation is heavier than they both.
4 Фурия есте фэрэ милэ ши мыния, нэвалникэ, дар чине поате ста ымпотрива ӂелозией?
Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before jealousy?
5 Май бине о мустраре пе фацэ декыт о приетение аскунсэ.
Better is open rebuke than love that is hidden.
6 Рэниле фэкуте де ун приетен доведеск крединчошия луй, дар сэрутэриле унуй врэжмаш сунт минчиноасе.
Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are importunate.
7 Сэтулул калкэ ын пичоаре фагуреле де мьере, дар пентру чел флэмынд тоате амэрэчуниле сунт дулчь.
The full soul loatheth a honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
8 Ка пасэря плекатэ дин куйбул ей, аша есте омул плекат дин локул сэу.
As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
9 Кум ынвеселеск унтделемнул ши тэмыя инима, аша де дулчь сунт сфатуриле плине де драгосте але унуй приетен.
Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart; so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.
10 Ну пэрэси пе приетенул тэу ши пе приетенул татэлуй тэу, дар ну интра ын каса фрателуй тэу ын зиуа неказулуй тэу: май бине ун вечин апроапе декыт ун фрате департе.
Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity; better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
11 Фиуле, фий ынцелепт ши ынвеселеште-мь инима, ши атунч вой путя рэспунде челуй че мэ батжокореште!
My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that taunteth me.
12 Омул кибзуит веде рэул ши се аскунде, дар проштий мерг спре ел ши сунт педепсиць.
A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the thoughtless pass on, and are punished.
13 Я-й хайна, кэч с-а пус кезаш пентру алтул, я-л зэлог ын локул уней стрэине!
Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; and hold him in pledge that is surety for an alien woman.
14 Бинекувынтаря апроапелуй ку глас таре дис-де-диминяцэ есте привитэ ка ун блестем.
He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.
15 О стряшинэ, каре пикурэ некурмат ынтр-о зи де плоае, ши о невастэ гылчевитоаре сунт тот уна.
A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike;
16 Чине о опреште паркэ опреште вынтул ши паркэ цине унтделемнул ын мына дряптэ.
He that would hide her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand betrayeth itself.
17 Дупэ кум ферул аскуте ферул, тот аша ши омул ацыцэ мыния алтуй ом.
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
18 Чине ынгрижеште де ун смокин ва мынка дин родул луй ши чине-шь пэзеште стэпынул ва фи прецуит.
Whoso keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit thereof; and he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.
19 Кум рэспунде ын апэ фаца ла фацэ, аша рэспунде инима омулуй инимий омулуй.
As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.
20 Дупэ кум Локуинца морцилор ши адынкул ну се пот сэтура, тот аша нич окий омулуй ну се пот сэтура. (Sheol h7585)
The nether-world and Destruction are never satiated; so the eyes of man are never satiated. (Sheol h7585)
21 Че есте тигая пентру лэмуриря арӂинтулуй ши купторул пентру лэмуриря аурулуй, ачея есте бунул нуме пентру ун ом.
The refining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold, and a man is tried by his praise.
22 Пе небун, кяр дакэ л-ай писа ку писэлогул ын пиуэ, ын мижлокул грэунцелор, небуния тот н-ар еши дин ел.
Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar with a pestle among groats, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
23 Ынгрижеште бине де оиле тале ши я сяма ла турмеле тале!
Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds;
24 Кэч ничо богэцие ну цине вешник ши нич кунуна ну рэмыне пе вечие.
For riches are not for ever; and doth the crown endure unto all generations?
25 Дупэ че се ридикэ фынул, се аратэ вердяца ноуэ, ши ербуриле де пе мунць сунт стрынсе.
When the hay is mown, and the tender grass showeth itself, and the herbs of the mountains are gathered in;
26 Меий сунт пентру ымбрэкэминте ши цапий, пентру плата огорулуй;
The lambs will be for thy clothing, and the goats the price for a field.
27 лаптеле капрелор ць-ажунӂе пентру храна та, а касей тале ши пентру ынтрецинеря служничелор тале.
And there will be goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household; and maintenance for thy maidens.
