Провербеле 17
1 Май бине о букатэ де пыне ускатэ ку паче декыт о касэ плинэ де кэрнурь ку чартэ!
Better is a dry morsel and quietness therewith, than an house full of feasting with strife.
2 Ун аргат ку минте стэпынеште песте фиул каре фаче рушине ши ва ымпэрци моштениря ку фраций луй.
A servant that dealeth wisely shall have rule over a son that causeth shame, and shall have part in the inheritance among the brethren.
3 Тигая лэмуреште арӂинтул ши купторул лэмуреште аурул, дар Чел че ынчаркэ инимиле есте Домнул.
The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.
4 Чел рэу аскултэ ку луаре аминте ла буза нелеӂюитэ ши минчиносул плякэ урекя ла лимба нимичитоаре.
An evil-doer giveth heed to wicked lips; [and] a liar giveth ear to a mischievous tongue.
5 Чине ышь бате жок де сэрак ышь бате жок де Чел че л-а фэкут; чине се букурэ де о ненорочире ну ва рэмыне непедепсит.
Whoso mocketh the poor reproacheth his Maker: [and] he that is glad at calamity shall not be unpunished.
6 Копиий копиилор сунт кунуна бэтрынилор ши пэринций сунт слава копиилор лор.
Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.
7 Кувинтеле алесе ну се потривеск ын гура унуй небун; ку кыт май пуцин кувинтеле минчиноасе, ын гура унуй ом де вицэ алясэ!
Excellent speech becometh not a fool: much less do lying lips a prince.
8 Даруриле пар о пятрэ скумпэ ын окий челор че ле примеск: орьынкотро се ынторк, избындеск.
A gift is [as] a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.
9 Чине акоперэ о грешялэ каутэ драгостя, дар чине о поменеште мереу ын ворбириле луй дезбинэ пе приетень.
He that covereth a transgression seeketh love: but he that harpeth on a matter separateth chief friends.
10 О мустраре пэтрунде май мулт пе омул причепут декыт о сутэ де ловитурь пе чел небун.
A rebuke entereth deeper into one that hath understanding than an hundred stripes into a fool.
11 Чел рэу ну каутэ декыт рэскоалэ, дар ун сол фэрэ милэ ва фи тримис ымпотрива луй.
An evil man seeketh only rebellion; therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him.
12 Май бине сэ ынтылнешть о урсоайкэ жефуитэ де пуий ей декыт ун небун ын тимпул небунией луй.
Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.
13 Челуй че ынтоарче рэу пентру бине ну-й ва пэрэси рэул каса.
Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house.
14 Ынчепутул уней черте есте ка слобозиря унор апе; де ачея, курмэ чарта ынаинте де а се ынтеци.
The beginning of strife is [as] when one letteth out water: therefore leave off contention, before there be quarrelling.
15 Чел че яртэ пе виноват ши чел че осындеште пе чел невиноват сунт амындой о скырбэ ынаинтя Домнулуй.
He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the righteous, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.
16 Ла че служеште арӂинтул ын мына небунулуй? Сэ кумпере ынцелепчуня?… Дар н-аре минте!
Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to buy wisdom, seeing he hath no understanding?
17 Приетенул адевэрат юбеште орькынд ши ын ненорочире ажунӂе ка ун фрате.
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
18 Омул фэрэ минте дэ кезэшие, се пуне кезаш пентру апроапеле сэу.
A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his neighbour.
19 Чине юбеште чертуриле юбеште пэкатул ши чине-шь зидеште поарта пря ыналтэ ышь каутэ пеиря.
He loveth transgression that loveth strife: he that raiseth high his gate seeketh destruction.
20 Чел ку инимэ префэкутэ ну гэсеште феричиря ши чел ку лимба стрикатэ каде ын ненорочире.
He that hath a froward heart findeth no good: and he that hath a perverse tongue falleth into mischief.
21 Чине дэ наштере унуй небун ва авя ынтристаре ши татэл унуй небун ну поате сэ се букуре.
He that begetteth a fool [doeth it] to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.
22 О инимэ веселэ есте ун бун ляк, дар ун дух мыхнит усукэ оаселе.
A merry heart is a good medicine: but a broken spirit drieth up the bones.
23 Чел рэу примеште дарурь пе аскунс ка сэ сучяскэ ши кэиле дрептэций.
A wicked man taketh a gift out of the bosom, to pervert the ways of judgment.
24 Ынцелепчуня есте ын фаца омулуй причепут, дар окий небунулуй о каутэ ла капэтул пэмынтулуй.
Wisdom is before the face of him that hath understanding: but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.
25 Ун фиу небун адуче неказ татэлуй сэу ши амэрэчуне челей че л-а нэскут.
A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.
26 Ну есте бине сэ осындешть пе чел неприхэнит ла о глоабэ, нич сэ ловешть пе чей де ням алес дин причина неприхэнирий лор.
Also to punish the righteous is not good, [nor] to smite the noble for [their] uprightness.
27 Чине ышь ынфрынязэ ворбеле куноаште штиинца ши чине аре духул потолит есте ун ом причепут.
He that spareth his words hath knowledge: and he that is of a cool spirit is a man of understanding.
28 Кяр ши ун прост ар трече де ынцелепт дакэ ар тэчя ши де причепут дакэ шь-ар цине гура.
Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: when he shutteth his lips, he is [esteemed as] prudent.
