Leviticul 12

1 Și DOMNUL i-a vorbit lui Moise, spunând:

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2 Vorbește copiilor lui Israel, zicând: Dacă o femeie rămâne însărcinată și naște un copil de parte bărbătească, să fie necurată șapte zile; conform cu zilele separării, pentru infirmitatea ei, să fie necurată.

Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: If a woman having received seed shall bear a man child, she shall be unclean seven days, according to the days of the separation of her flowers.

3 Și în ziua a opta prepuțul lui să fie circumcis.

And on the eighth day the infant shall be circumcised:

4 Și să continue în sângele curățirii ei treizeci și trei de zile; să nu atingă niciun lucru sfânt, nici să nu intre în sanctuar, până când zilele purificării ei vor fi împlinite.

But she shall remain three and thirty days in the blood of her purification. She shall touch no holy thing, neither shall she enter into the sanctuary, until the days of her purification be fulfilled.

5 Dar dacă ea naște un copil de parte femeiască, atunci să fie necurată două săptămâni, ca în separarea ei, și să continue în sângele curățirii ei șaizeci și șase de zile.

But if she shall bear a maid child, she shall be unclean two weeks, according to the custom of her monthly courses, and she shall remain in the blood of her purification sixty-six days.

6 Și când zilele curățirii ei sunt împlinite, pentru un fiu, sau pentru o fiică, să aducă un miel de un an, ca ofrandă arsă și un porumbel tânăr sau o turturea, ca ofrandă pentru păcat, la ușa tabernacolului întâlnirii, la preot;

And when the days of her purification are expired, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring to the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, a lamb of a year old for a holocaust, and a young pigeon or a turtle for sin, and shall deliver them to the priest:

7 Acesta să le aducă înaintea DOMNULUI și să facă ispășire pentru ea; iar ea să fie curățată de scurgerea sângerării ei. Aceasta este legea pentru cea care a născut parte bărbătească sau parte femeiască.

Who shall offer them before the Lord, and shall pray for her, and so she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that beareth a man child or a maid child.

8 Și dacă nu este în stare să aducă un miel, atunci să aducă două turturele, sau doi porumbei tineri; unul pentru ofranda arsă și celălalt ca ofrandă pentru păcat; și preotul să facă ispășire pentru ea, iar ea să fie curată.

And if her hand find not sufficiency, and she is not able to offer a lamb, she shall take two turtles, or two young pigeons, one for a holocaust, and another for sin: and the priest shall pray for her, and so she shall be cleansed.
