1 Regii 13
1 Şi, iată, a venit un om al lui Dumnezeu din Iuda prin cuvântul DOMNULUI la Betel; şi Ieroboam stătea în picioare lângă altar pentru a arde tămâie.
And behold, by the word of the Lord, a man of God went from Judah to Bethel, when Jeroboam was standing over the altar, and burning incense.
2 Şi el a strigat împotriva altarului prin cuvântul DOMNULUI şi a spus: Altarule, altarule, astfel spune DOMNUL: Iată, un fiu se va naşte casei lui David, pe nume Iosia; şi pe tine, el va oferi pe preoţii înălţimilor, care ard tămâie pe tine şi oase de oameni vor fi arse pe tine.
And by the word of the Lord, he cried out against the altar. And he said: “O altar, O altar! Thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, a son will be born to the house of David, Josiah by name. And upon you, he will immolate the priests of the high places, who now burn incense upon you. And upon you, he will burn up the bones of men.’”
3 Şi a dat un semn în acea zi, spunând: Acesta este semnul despre care DOMNUL a vorbit: Iată, altarul va fi despicat şi cenuşa care este pe el va fi vărsată.
And he gave a sign on the same day, saying: “This will be the sign that the Lord has spoken. Behold, the altar shall be torn apart, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.”
4 Şi s-a întâmplat, când împăratul Ieroboam a auzit spusa omului lui Dumnezeu, pe care a strigat-o împotriva altarului din Betel, că şi-a întins mâna de la altar, spunând: Prindeţi-l. Şi mâna pe care o întinsese împotriva lui, s-a uscat, astfel încât nu a putut să o tragă din nou la el.
And when the king had heard the word of the man of God, which he had cried out against the altar at Bethel, he extended his hand from the altar, saying, “Apprehend him!” But his hand, which he had extended against him, withered. And he was unable to draw it back to himself.
5 Altarul de asemenea s-a despicat şi cenuşa s-a vărsat de pe altar, conform cu semnul pe care omul lui Dumnezeu îl dăduse prin cuvântul DOMNULUI.
Also, the altar was torn apart, and the ashes were poured out from the altar, in accord with the sign that the man of God had predicted by the word of the Lord.
6 Şi împăratul a răspuns şi a zis omului lui Dumnezeu: Roagă acum faţa DOMNULUI Dumnezeului tău şi roagă-te pentru mine, ca mâna mea să îmi fie refăcută. Şi omul lui Dumnezeu a implorat pe DOMNUL şi mâna împăratului i-a fost refăcută din nou, şi mâna a devenit precum era înainte.
And the king said to the man of God, “Entreat the face of the Lord your God, and pray for me, so that my hand may be restored to me.” And the man of God prayed before the face of the Lord, and the hand of the king was restored to him, and it became as it had been before.
7 Şi împăratul i-a spus omului lui Dumnezeu: Vino acasă cu mine şi răcoreşte-te şi îţi voi da o răsplată.
Then the king said to the man of God: “Come home with me, so that you may dine. And I will give you gifts.”
8 Şi omul lui Dumnezeu a spus împăratului: Dacă mi-ai da jumătate din casa ta, nu voi intra cu tine, nici nu voi mânca pâine nici nu voi bea apă în acest loc;
And the man of God responded to the king: “Even if you will give me one half part of your house, I will not go with you, nor eat bread, nor drink water in this place.
9 Pentru că astfel mi s-a poruncit prin cuvântul DOMNULUI, spunând: Să nu mănânci pâine, nici să nu bei apă, nici să nu te întorci pe aceeaşi cale pe care ai venit.
For so it was commanded to me by the word of the Lord, ordering: ‘You shall not eat bread, and you shall not drink water, nor shall you return by the way that you came.’”
10 Astfel el a mers pe altă cale şi nu s-a întors pe calea pe care venise la Betel.
Then he departed by another way, and he did not return along the way that he had traveled to Bethel.
11 Şi acolo în Betel locuia un profet bătrân; şi fiii săi au venit şi i-au spus toate lucrările pe care omul lui Dumnezeu le făcuse în acea zi în Betel; cuvintele pe care le spusese împăratului, pe acestea le-au spus de asemenea tatălui lor.
Now a certain elderly prophet was living in Bethel. His sons went to him, and they described to him all the works which the man of God had accomplished on that day in Bethel. And they described to their father the words that he had spoken to the king.
12 Şi tatăl lor le-a spus: Pe ce cale a mers el? Şi fiii săi văzuseră pe ce cale mersese omul lui Dumnezeu, care venise din Iuda.
And their father said to them, “By which way did he depart?” His sons showed him the way by which the man of God, who had come from Judah, had departed.
13 Şi a spus fiilor săi: Înşeuaţi-mi măgarul. Astfel ei i-au înşeuat măgarul; şi a călărit pe el,
And he said to his sons, “Saddle the donkey for me.” And when they had saddled it, he climbed on,
14 Şi a mers după omul lui Dumnezeu şi l-a găsit şezând sub un stejar; şi i-a spus: Eşti tu omul lui Dumnezeu care a venit din Iuda? Şi el a spus: Eu sunt.
and he went away after the man of God. And he found him sitting under a terebinth tree. And he said to him, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” And he responded, “I am.”
15 Atunci el i-a spus: Vino acasă cu mine şi mănâncă pâine.
And he said to him, “Come home with me, so that you may eat bread.”
16 Iar el a spus: Nu pot să mă întorc cu tine, nici să intru cu tine; nici nu voi mânca pâine, nici nu voi bea apă cu tine în acest loc;
But he said: “I am not able to turn back, nor to go with you. Neither will I eat bread, or drink water in this place.
17 Pentru că mi s-a spus prin cuvântul DOMNULUI: Să nu mănânci pâine, nici să nu bei apă acolo, nici să te întorci din nou pe calea pe care ai venit.
For the Lord has spoken to me, by the word of the Lord, saying, “You shall not eat bread, and you shall not drink water in that place, nor shall you return by the way that you arrived.”
18 El i-a spus: Eu sunt de asemenea profet precum eşti şi tu; şi un înger mi-a vorbit prin cuvântul DOMNULUI, spunând: Adu-l înapoi cu tine la casa ta, ca să mănânce pâine şi să bea apă. Dar el îl minţea.
And he said to him: “I, too, am a prophet like you. And an Angel spoke to me, by the word of the Lord, saying, ‘Lead him back with you to your house, so that he may eat bread, and drink water.’” And so he deceived him.
19 Astfel el s-a întors cu el şi a mâncat pâine în casa lui şi a băut apă.
And he led him back with him. Then he ate bread and drank water in his house.
20 Şi s-a întâmplat, pe când şedeau la masă, că a venit cuvântul DOMNULUI la profetul care îl adusese înapoi;
And while they were sitting at table, the word of the Lord came to the prophet who had led him back.
21 Şi el a strigat către omul lui Dumnezeu care venise din Iuda, spunând: Astfel spune DOMNUL: Pentru că nu ai făcut ce a poruncit gura DOMNULUI şi nu ai păzit porunca pe care DOMNUL Dumnezeul tău ţi-o poruncise,
And he cried out to the man of God who had arrived from Judah, saying: “Thus says the Lord: Because you were not obedient to the mouth of the Lord, and you did not keep the commandment that the Lord your God instructed to you,
22 Ci ai venit înapoi şi ai mâncat pâine şi ai băut apă în locul despre care DOMNUL ţi-a spus: Să nu mănânci pâine şi să nu bei apă; trupul tău mort nu va intra în mormântul părinţilor tăi.
and you turned back, and ate bread, and drank water in the place where he commanded you that you should not eat bread, nor drink water: your dead body shall not be carried back to the sepulcher of your fathers.”
23 Şi s-a întâmplat, după ce a mâncat pâine şi după ce a băut, că a înşeuat măgarul pentru el, adică, pentru profetul pe care îl întorsese.
And when he had eaten and had drunk, he saddled his donkey for the prophet whom he had led back.
24 Şi după ce a plecat, l-a întâlnit pe cale un leu şi l-a ucis; şi trupul său mort era aruncat în cale şi măgarul stătea lângă el, leul de asemenea stătea lângă trupul mort.
And when he had departed, a lion found him along the way, and it killed him, and his dead body was left upon the road. Now the donkey was standing beside him. And the lion was standing beside the dead body.
25 Şi, iată, au trecut nişte oameni şi au văzut trupul mort aruncat în cale şi leul stând lângă trupul mort; şi au venit şi au spus aceasta în cetatea unde locuia profetul cel bătrân.
And behold, men who were passing by saw the dead body lying in the road, with the lion standing beside the body. And they went and made it widely known in the city where that elderly prophet was living.
26 Şi când profetul care îl adusese înapoi din cale a auzit despre aceasta, a spus: Este omul lui Dumnezeu, care nu a făcut ce a poruncit cuvântul DOMNULUI; pentru aceasta DOMNUL l-a dat leului, care l-a sfâşiat şi l-a ucis, conform cuvântului DOMNULUI, pe care i-l spusese.
And when that prophet, who had led him back from the way, had heard it, he said: “It is the man of God, who was disobedient to the mouth of the Lord. And the Lord has delivered him to the lion. And it has torn him apart and killed him, in accord with the word of the Lord, which he spoke to him.”
27 Şi a vorbit fiilor săi, zicând: Înşeuaţi-mi măgarul. Şi l-au înşeuat.
And he said to his sons, “Saddle a donkey for me.” And when they had saddled it,
28 Şi a mers şi a găsit trupul său mort aruncat în cale şi măgarul şi leul stând lângă trupul mort; leul nu mâncase trupul mort, nici nu sfâşiase măgarul.
and he had departed, he found the dead body lying on the road, with the donkey and the lion standing beside the dead body. The lion did not eat from the dead body, nor did it harm the donkey.
29 Şi profetul a ridicat trupul mort al omului lui Dumnezeu şi l-a pus pe măgar şi l-a adus înapoi; şi profetul cel bătrân a intrat în cetate, pentru a-l jeli şi pentru a-l îngropa.
Then the prophet took the dead body of the man of God, and he placed it upon the donkey, and returning, he brought it into the city of the elderly prophet, so that he might mourn for him.
30 Şi a pus trupul său mort în propriul său mormânt; şi ei l-au jelit, spunând: Vai, fratele meu!
And he placed his dead body in his own sepulcher. And they mourned for him, saying: “Alas! Alas! My brother!”
31 Şi s-a întâmplat, după ce l-a îngropat, că a vorbit fiilor săi, spunând: La moartea mea, înmormântaţi-mă în mormântul unde este înmormântat omul lui Dumnezeu; să îmi puneţi oasele lângă oasele lui;
And when they had mourned over him, he said to his sons: “When I will have died, bury me in the sepulcher in which the man of God was buried. Place my bones beside his bones.
32 Fiindcă spusa pe care el a strigat-o prin cuvântul DOMNULUI împotriva altarului din Betel şi împotriva tuturor caselor înălţimilor care sunt în cetăţile din Samaria, se va întâmpla negreşit.
For certainly, the word will arrive, which he predicted by the word of the Lord, against the altar, which is in Bethel, and against all the shrines of the high places, which are in the cities of Samaria.”
33 După acest lucru Ieroboam nu s-a întors de la calea lui cea rea, ci a făcut din nou, din oamenii cei mai de jos, preoţi ai înălţimilor; oricine voia, îl consacra şi el devenea unul din preoţii înălţimilor.
After these words, Jeroboam did not turn back from his very evil way. Instead, to the contrary, he made priests for the high places out of the least of the people. Whosoever was willing, he filled his hand, and he became a priest of the high places.
34 Şi acest lucru a fost păcat casei lui Ieroboam, chiar până la stârpire şi nimicire de pe faţa pământului.
And for this reason, the house of Jeroboam sinned, and was uprooted, and was wiped from the face of the earth.
