Salmos 33

1 Cantai ao SENHOR, vós [que sois] justos; aos corretos convém louvar.

A psalm for David. Rejoice in the Lord, O ye just: praise becometh the upright.

2 Louvai ao SENHOR com harpa; cantai a ele com alaúde [e] instrumento de dez cordas.

Give praise to the Lord on the harp; sing to him with the psaltery, the instrument of ten strings.

3 Cantai-lhe uma canção nova; tocai [instrumento] bem com alegria.

Sing to him a new canticle, sing well unto him with a loud noise.

4 Porque a palavra do SENHOR é correta; e todas suas obras [são] fiéis.

For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done with faithfulness.

5 Ele ama a justiça e o juízo; a terra está cheia da bondade do SENHOR.

He loveth mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

6 Pala palavra do SENHOR foram feitos os céus; e todo o seu exército [foi feito] pelo sopro de sua boca.

By the word of the Lord the heavens were established; and all the power of them by the spirit of his mouth:

7 Ele junta as águas do mar como se estivessem empilhadas; aos abismos ele põe como depósitos de tesouros.

Gathering together the waters of the sea, as in a vessel; laying up the depths in storehouses.

8 Toda a terra, tenha temor ao SENHOR; todos os moradores do mundo prestem reverência a ele.

Let all the earth fear the Lord, and let all the inhabitants of the world be in awe of him.

9 Porque ele falou, [e logo] se fez; ele mandou, [e logo] apareceu.

For he spoke and they were made: he commanded and they were created.

10 O SENHOR desfez a intenção das nações; ele destruiu os planos dos povos.

The Lord bringeth to naught the counsels of nations; and he rejecteth the devices of people, and casteth away the counsels of princes.

11 O conselho do SENHOR permanece para sempre; as intenções de seu coração [continuam] de geração após geração.

But the counsel of the Lord standeth for ever: the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

12 Bem-aventurada [é] a nação em que seu Deus é o SENHOR; o povo que ele escolheu para si por herança.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord: the people whom he hath chosen for his inheritance.

13 O SENHOR olha desde os céus; ele vê a todos os filhos dos homens.

The Lord hath looked from heaven: he hath beheld all the sons of men.

14 Desde sua firme morada ele observa a todos os moradores da terra.

From his habitation which he hath prepared, he hath looked upon all that dwell on the earth.

15 Ele forma o coração de todos eles; ele avalia todas as obras deles.

He who hath made the hearts of every one of them: who understandeth all their works.

16 O rei não se salva pela grandeza de [seu] exército, nem o valente escapa do perigo pela [sua] muita força.

The king is not saved by a great army: nor shall the giant be saved by his own great strength.

17 O cavalo é falho como segurança, com sua grande força não livra do perigo.

Vain is the horse for safety: neither shall he be saved by the abundance of his strength.

18 Eis que os olhos do SENHOR [estão] sobre aqueles que o temem, sobre os que esperam pela sua bondade.

Behold the eyes of the Lord are on them that fear him: and on them that hope in his mercy.

19 Para livrar a alma deles da morte, e para os manter vivos durante a fome.

To deliver their souls from death; and feed them in famine.

20 Nossa alma espera no SENHOR; ele [é] nossa socorro e nosso escudo.

Our soul waiteth for the Lord: for he is our helper and protector.

21 Porque nele nosso coração se alegra, porque confiamos no nome de sua santidade.

For in him our heart shall rejoice: and in his holy name we have trusted.

22 Que tua bondade, SENOR, esteja sobre nós, assim como nós esperamos em ti.

Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us, as we have hoped in thee.
