Ezequiel 20

1 E aconteceu no sétimo ano, no quinto [mês], aos dez do mês, que vieram alguns dos anciãos de Israel para consultarem ao SENHOR, e se assentaram diante de mim.

And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month: there came men of the ancients of Israel to inquire of the Lord, and they sat before me.

2 Então veio a mim palavra do SENHOR, dizendo:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

3 Filho do homem, fala aos anciãos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Viestes vós para me consultar? Vivo eu, que eu não deixarei ser consultado por vós, diz o Senhor DEUS.

Son of man, speak to the ancients of Israel, and say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: Are you come to inquire of me? As I live, I will not answer you, saith the Lord God.

4 Por acaso tu os julgarias, julgarias tu, ó filho do homem? Notifica-lhes as abominações de seus pais;

If thou judgest them, if thou judgest, son of man, declare to them the abominations of their fathers.

5 E dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: No dia em que escolhi a Israel, fiz juramento para a descendência da casa de Jacó, e me tornei conhecido por eles na terra do Egito, e fiz juramento para eles, dizendo: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus;

And say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: In the day when I chose Israel, and lifted up my hand for the race of the house of Jacob: and appeared to them in the land of Egypt, and lifted up my hand for them, saying: I am the Lord your God:

6 Naquele dia eu lhes fiz juramento de que os tiraria da terra do Egito para uma terra que eu já tinha observado para eles, que corre leite e mel, a qual é a mais bela de todas as terras;

In that day I lifted up my hand for them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt, into a land which I had provided for them, flowing with milk and honey, which excelleth amongst all lands.

7 Então eu lhes disse: Cada um lance fora as abominações de seus olhos, e não vos contamineis com os ídolos do Egito. Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.

And I said to them: Let every man cast away the scandals of his eyes, and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

8 Porém eles se rebelaram contra mim, e não quiseram me ouvir; não lançaram fora as abominações de seus olhos, nem deixaram os ídolos do Egito; por isso disse que derramaria meu furor sobre eles, para cumprir meu ira contra eles no meio da terra do Egito.

But they provoked me, and would not hearken to me: they did not every man cast away the abominations of his eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: and I said I would pour out my indignation upon them, and accomplish my wrath against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

9 Porém fiz por favor a meu nome, para que não fosse profanado diante olhos das nações no meio das quais estavam, pelas quais eu fui conhecido diante dos olhos delas, ao tirá-los da terra do Egito.

But I did otherwise for my name’s sake, that it might not be violated before the nations, in the midst of whom they were, and among whom I made myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Egypt.

10 Por isso eu os tirei da terra do Egito, e os levei ao deserto;

Therefore I brought them out from the land of Egypt, and brought them into the desert.

11 E lhes dei meus estatutos, e lhes declarei meus juízos, os quais se o homem os fizer, por eles viverá.

And I gave them my statutes, and I shewed them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in them.

12 E também lhes dei meus sábados para que servissem de sinal entre mim e eles, para que soubessem que eu sou o SENHOR, que os santifico.

Moreover I gave them also my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them: and that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them.

13 Mas a casa de Israel se rebelou contra mim no deserto: não andaram em meus estatutos, rejeitaram meus juízos, os quais se o homem os fizer, por eles viverá; e profanaram grandemente meus sábados. Então eu disse que derramaria meu furor sobre eles no deserto, para os consumir.

But the house of Israel provoked me in the desert: they walked not in my statutes, and they cast away my judgments, which if a man do he shall live in them: and they grievously violated my sabbaths. I said therefore that I would pour out my indignation upon them in the desert, and would consume them.

14 Porém fiz por favor a meu nome, para que não fosse profanado diante dos olhos das nações, diante de cujos olhos os tirei.

But I spared them for the sake of my name, lest it should be profaned before the nations, from which I brought them out, in their sight.

15 Contudo eu lhes jurei no deserto de que não os traria para a terra que havia lhes dado, que corre leite e mel, a qual é a mais bela de todas as terras;

So I lifted up my hand over them in the desert, not to bring them into the land which I had given them flowing with milk and honey, the best of all lands.

16 Porque rejeitaram meus juízos, não andaram em meus estatutos, e profanaram meus sábados; porque seus corações seguiam seus ídolos.

Because they cast off my judgments, and walked not in my statutes, and violated my sabbaths: for their heart went after idols.

17 Porém meu olho os poupou, não os destruindo, nem os consumindo no deserto;

Yet my eye spared them, so that I destroyed them not: neither did I consume them in the desert.

18 Em vez disso, eu disse a seus filhos no deserto: Não andeis nos estatutos de vossos pais, nem guardeis seus juízos, nem vos contamineis com seus ídolos.

And I said to their children in the wilderness: Walk not in the statutes of your fathers, and observe not their judgments, nor be ye defiled with their idols:

19 Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus; andai em meus estatutos, guardai meus juízos, e os praticai;

I am the Lord your God: walk ye in my statutes, and observe my judgments, and do them.

20 E santificai meus sábados, e sirvam de sinal entre mim e vós, para que saibais que eu sou o SENHOR, vosso Deus.

And sanctify my sabbaths, that they may be a sign between me and you: and that you may know that I am the Lord your God.

21 Mas os filhos se rebelaram contra mim; não andaram em meus estatutos, nem guardaram meus juízos fazê-los, os quais se o homem os cumprir, por eles viverá; [e] profanaram meus sábados. Então eu disse que derramaria meu furor sobre eles, para cumprir minha ira contra eles no deserto.

But their children provoked me, they walked not in my commandments, nor observed my judgments to do them: which if a man do, he shell live in them: and they violated my sabbaths: and I threatened to pour out my indignation upon them, and to accomplish my wrath in them in the desert.

22 Porém contive minha mão, e fiz por favor a meu nome, para que não fosse profanado diante dos olhos das nações, diante de cujos olhos os tirei.

But I turned away my hand, and wrought for my name’s sake, that it might not be violated before the nations, out of which I brought them forth in their sight.

23 E também lhes jurei no deserto que os espalharia entre as nações, e que os dispersaria pelas terras;

Again I lifted up my hand upon them in the wilderness, to disperse them among the nations, and scatter them through the countries:

24 Porque não praticaram meus juízos, rejeitaram meus estatutos, profanaram meus sábados, e seus olhos seguiram os ídolos de seus pais.

Because they had not done my judgments, and had cast off my statutes, and had violated my sabbaths, and their eyes had been after the idols of their fathers.

25 Por isso eu também lhes dei estatutos que não eram bons, e juízos pelos quais não viveriam;

Therefore I also gave them statutes that were not good, and judgments, in which they shall not live.

26 E os contaminei em suas ofertas, em que faziam passar pelo fogo todo primogênito, para eu os assolar, a fim de que soubessem que eu sou o SENHOR.

And I polluted them in their own gifts, when they offered all that opened the womb, for their offences: and they shall know that I am the Lord.

27 Portanto, filho do homem, fala à casa de Israel, e dize-lhes: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Até nisto vossos pais me afrontaram quando transgrediram contra mim.

Wherefore speak to the house of Israel, O son of man, and say to them: Thus saith the Lord God: Moreover in this also your fathers blasphemed me, when they had despised and contemned me;

28 Porque quando eu os trouxe para a terra da qual eu tinha jurado que lhes daria, então olharam para todo morro alto e para toda árvore espessa, e ali sacrificaram suas sacrifícios, e ali deram suas ofertas irritantes, e ali derramaram suas ofertas de bebidas.

And I had brought them into the land, for which I lifted up my hand to give it them: they saw every high hill, and every shady tree, and there they sacrificed their victims: and there they presented the provocation of their offerings, and there they set their sweet odours, and poured forth their libations.

29 E eu lhes disse: Que alto é esse para onde vós vais? E seu nome foi chamado Bamá até o dia de hoje.

And I said to them: What meaneth the high place to which you go? and the name thereof was called High-place even to this day.

30 Por isso dize à casa de Israel: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Por acaso [não] vos contaminais assim como vossos pais, e vos prostituís segundo suas abominações?

Wherefore say to the house of Israel: Thus saith the Lord God: Verily, you are defiled in the way of your fathers, and you commit fornication with their abominations.

31 Quando ofereceis vossas ofertas, e fazeis passar vossos filhos pelo fogo, vós estais contaminados com todos os vossos ídolos até hoje. E deixaria eu ser consultado por vós, ó casa de Israel? Vivo eu, diz o Senhor DEUS, que não deixarei ser consultado por vós.

And you defile yourselves with all your: idols unto this day, in the offering of your gifts, when you make your children pass through the fire: and shall I answer you, O house of Israel? As I live, saith the Lord God, I will not answer you.

32 E o que vós tendes pensado de maneira nenhuma sucederá. Pois vós dizeis: Seremos como as nações, como as famílias das terras, servindo à madeira e à pedra.

Neither shall the thought of your mind come to pass, by which you say: We will be as the Gentiles, and as the families of the earth, to worship stocks and stones.

33 Vivo eu, diz o Senhor DEUS, que reinarei sobre vós com mão forte, braço estendido, e ira derramada;

As I live, saith the Lord God, I will reign over you with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

34 E vos tirarei dentre os povos, e vos ajuntarei das terras em que estais espalhados, com mão forte, braço estendido, e ira derramada;

And I will bring you out from the people, and I will gather you out of the countries, in which you are scattered, I will reign over you with a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

35 E eu vos levarei ao deserto de povos, e ali entrarei em juízo convosco face a face,

And I will bring you into the wilderness of people, and there will I plead with you face to face.

36 Tal como entrei em juízo com vossos pais no deserto da terra do Egito, assim entrarei em juízo convosco, diz o Senhor DEUS.

As I pleaded against your fathers in the desert of the land of Egypt; even so will I judge you, saith the Lord God.

37 E vos farei passar debaixo da vara, e vos levarei em vínculo do pacto;

And I will make you subject to my sceptre, and will bring you into the bands of the covenant.

38 E separarei dentre vós os rebeldes, e os que se transgrediram contra mim; da terra de suas peregrinações eu os tirarei, mas à terra de Israel não voltarão; e sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR.

And I will pick out from among you the transgressors, and the wicked, and will bring them out of the land where they sojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am the Lord.

39 E quanto a vós, ó casa de Israel, assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Ide, servi cada um a seus ídolos, e depois, se não quereis me ouvir; mas não profaneis mais meu santo nome com vossas ofertas, e com vossos ídolos.

And as for you, O house of Israel: thus saith the Lord God: Walk ye every one after your idols, and serve them. But if in this also you hear me not, but defile my holy name any more with your gifts, and with your idols;

40 Porque em meu santo monte, no monte alto de Israel, diz o Senhor DEUS, ali me servirá toda a casa de Israel, ela toda, naquela terra; ali eu os aceitarei, e ali demandarei vossas ofertas, e as primícias de vossas dádivas, com todas as vossas coisas santas.

In my holy mountain, in the high mountain of Israel, saith the Lord God, there shall all the house of Israel serve me; all of them I say, in the land in which they shall please me, and there will I require your firstfruits, and the chief of your tithes with all your sanctifications.

41 Com cheiro suave vos aceitarei, quando eu vos tirar dentre os povos, e vos ajuntar das terras em que estais espalhados; e serei santificado em vós diante dos olhos das nações.

I will accept of you for an odour of sweetness, when I shall have brought you out from the people, and shall have gathered you out of the lands into which you are scattered, and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.

42 E sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR, quando eu vos trouxer de volta à terra de Israel, à terra da qual jurei que daria a vossos pais.

And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have brought you into the land of Israel, into the land for which I lifted up my hand to give it to your fathers.

43 E ali vos lembrareis de vossos caminhos e de todos os vossos atos em que vos contaminastes; e tereis nojo de vós mesmos, por causa de todos os vossos pecados que tendes cometido.

And there you shall remember your ways, and all your wicked doings with which you have been defiled; and you shall be displeased with yourselves in your own sight, for all your wicked deeds which you committed.

44 E sabereis que eu sou o SENHOR, quando fizer convosco por favor a meu nome, não conforme vossos maus caminhos, nem conforme vossos atos corruptos, ó casa de Israel, diz o Senhor DEUS.

And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have done well by you for my own name’s sake, and not according to your evil ways, nor according to your wicked deeds, O house of Israel, saith the Lord God.

45 E veio a mim palavra do SENHOR, dizendo:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

46 Filho do homem, dirige teu rosto em direção ao sul, derrama [tua palavra] ao sul, e profetiza contra o bosque do campo do sul.

Son of man, set thy face against the way of the south, and drop towards the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field.

47 E dize ao bosque do sul: Ouve a palavra do SENHOR! Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Eis que eu acenderei em ti um fogo, que consumirá em ti toda árvore verde, e toda árvore seca; a chama do fogo não se apagará, e com ela serão queimados todos os rostos, desde o sul até o norte.

And any to the south forest: Hear the word of the Lord: Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I will kindle a fire in thee, and will burn in thee every green tree, and every dry tree: the dame of the fire shall not be quenched: and every face shall be burned in it, from the south even to the north.

48 E toda carne verá que eu, o SENHOR, o acendi; não se apagará.

And all flesh shall see, that I the Lord have kindled it, and it shall not be quenched.

49 Então eu disse: Ah, Senhor DEUS! Eles dizem de mim: Por acaso não é este um inventor de parábolas?

And I said: Ah, ah, ah, O Lord God: they say of me: Doth not this man speak by parables?
