Ester 10

1 E o rei Assuero impôs um tributo sobre a terra e [sobre] as ilhas do mar.

And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.

2 E todas as obras de seu poder e de seu valor, e a declaração da grandeza de Mardoqueu, a quem o rei engrandeceu, por acaso não estão escritas no livro das crônicas dos reis da Média e da Pérsia?

And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, to which the king advanced him, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?

3 Pois o judeu Mardoqueu foi o segundo depois do rei Assuero, e grande entre os judeus, e agradável à multidão de seus irmãos, procurando o bem de seu povo, e falando prosperidade para todo o seu povo.

For Mordecai the Jew was next to king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted by the multitude of his brethren, seeking the welfare of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
