Jó 19
1 Respondeu porém Job, e disse:
Then Job answered and said,
2 Até quando entristecereis a minha alma, e me quebrantareis com palavras?
How long will ye vex my soul and break me in pieces with words?
3 Já dez vezes me envergonhastes; vergonha não tendes: contra mim vos endureceis.
These ten times have ye reproached me: ye are not ashamed that ye deal hardly with me.
4 Embora haja eu, na verdade, errado, comigo ficará o meu erro.
And be it indeed that I have erred, mine error remaineth with myself.
5 Se devéras vos levantaes contra mim, e me arguis com o meu opprobrio,
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:
6 Sabei agora que Deus é o que me transtornou, e com a sua rede me cercou.
Know now that God hath subverted me [in my cause], and hath compassed me with his net.
7 Eis que clamo: Violencia; porém não sou ouvido; grito: Soccorro; porém não ha justiça.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard: I cry for help, but there is no judgment.
8 O meu caminho entrincheirou, e já não posso passar, e nas minhas veredas poz trevas.
He hath fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and hath set darkness in my paths.
9 Da minha honra me despojou; e tirou-me a corôa da minha cabeça.
He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 Derribou-me elle em roda, e eu me vou, e arrancou a minha esperança, como a uma arvore.
He hath broken me down on every side, and I am gone: and mine hope hath he plucked up like a tree.
11 E fez inflammar contrar mim a sua ira, e me reputou para comsigo, como a seus inimigos.
He hath also kindled his wrath against me, and he counteth me unto him as [one of] his adversaries.
12 Juntas vieram as suas tropas, e prepararam contra mim o seu caminho, e se acamparam ao redor da minha tenda.
His troops come on together, and cast up their way against me, and encamp round about my tent.
13 Poz longe de mim a meus irmãos, e os que me conhecem devéras me estranharam.
He hath put my brethren far from me, and mine acquaintance are wholly estranged from me.
14 Os meus parentes me deixaram, e os meus conhecidos se esqueceram de mim.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
15 Os meus domesticos e as minhas servas me reputaram como um estranho, e vim a ser um estrangeiro aos seus olhos.
They that dwell in mine house, and my maids, count me for a stranger: I am an alien in their sight.
16 Chamei a meu creado, e elle me não respondeu, supplicando-lhe eu por minha propria bocca.
I call unto my servant, and he giveth me no answer, [though] I entreat him with my mouth.
17 O meu bafo se fez estranho a minha mulher, e eu a supplico pelos filhos do meu corpo.
My breath is strange to my wife, and my supplication to the children of my [mother’s] womb.
18 Até os rapazes me desprezam, e, levantando-me eu, fallam contra mim.
Even young children despise me; if I arise, they speak against me.
19 Todos os homens do meu secreto conselho me abominam, e até os que eu amava se tornaram contra mim.
All my inward friends abhor me: and they whom I loved are turned against me.
20 Os meus ossos se apegaram á minha pelle e á minha carne, e escapei só com a pelle dos meus dentes.
My bone cleaveth to my skin and to my flesh, and I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.
21 Compadecei-vos de mim, amigos meus, compadecei-vos de mim, porque a mão de Deus me tocou.
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends; for the hand of God hath touched me.
22 Porque me perseguis assim como Deus, e da minha carne vos não fartaes?
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Quem me déra agora, que as minhas palavras se escrevessem! quem me dera, que se gravassem n'um livro!
Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were inscribed in a book!
24 E que, com penna de ferro, e com chumbo, para sempre fossem esculpidas na rocha!
That with an iron pen and lead they were graven in the rock for ever!
25 Porque eu sei que o meu Redemptor vive, e que estará em pé no derradeiro dia sobre o pó.
But I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand up at the last upon the earth:
26 E depois de roida a minha pelle, comtudo desde a minha carne verei a Deus,
And after my skin hath been thus destroyed, yet from my flesh shall I see God:
27 A quem eu verei por mim mesmo, e os meus olhos o verão, e não outro: e por isso os meus rins se consomem no meu seio.
Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another. My reins are consumed within me.
28 Na verdade, que devieis dizer: Porque o perseguimos? Pois a raiz da accusação se acha em mim.
If ye say, How we will persecute him! seeing that the root of the matter is found in me;
29 Temei vós mesmos a espada; porque o furor traz os castigos da espada, para saberdes que haverá um juizo.
Be ye afraid of the sword: for wrath [bringeth] the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
