1 A po kilku dniach znowu przyszedł do Kafarnaum i usłyszano, że jest w domu.
And when he entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was noised that he was in the house.
2 I zaraz zeszło się tak wielu [ludzi], że nie mogli się zmieścić nawet przed drzwiami. I głosił im słowo [Boże].
And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room [for them], no, not even about the door: and he spake the word unto them.
3 Wtedy przyszli do niego, niosąc sparaliżowanego, a niosło go czterech [ludzi].
And they come, bringing unto him a man sick of the palsy, borne of four.
4 A gdy nie mogli do niego podejść z powodu tłumu, odkryli dach [nad miejscem], gdzie był [Jezus], wyłamali go i spuścili na dół posłanie, na którym leżał sparaliżowany.
And when they could not come nigh unto him for the crowd, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed whereon the sick of the palsy lay.
5 A Jezus, widząc ich wiarę, powiedział do sparaliżowanego: Synu, twoje grzechy są ci przebaczone.
And Jesus seeing their faith saith unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins are forgiven.
6 A byli tam niektórzy z uczonych w Piśmie, siedząc i myśląc w swoich sercach:
But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7 Czemu on mówi takie bluźnierstwa? Któż może przebaczać grzechy oprócz samego Boga?
Why doth this man thus speak? he blasphemeth: who can forgive sins but one, [even] God?
8 A zaraz Jezus, poznawszy w swym duchu, że tak myśleli, powiedział do nich: Czemuż tak myślicie w swoich sercach?
And straightway Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, saith unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9 Cóż jest łatwiej – powiedzieć sparaliżowanemu: Przebaczone są ci grzechy, czy powiedzieć: Wstań, weź swoje posłanie i chodź?
Which is easier, to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10 Ale żebyście wiedzieli, że Syn Człowieczy ma na ziemi moc przebaczać grzechy – powiedział do sparaliżowanego:
But that ye may know that the Son of man hath authority on earth to forgive sins (he saith to the sick of the palsy),
11 Mówię ci: Wstań, weź swoje posłanie i idź do domu.
I say unto thee, Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thy house.
12 A on natychmiast wstał, wziął swoje posłanie i wyszedł na oczach wszystkich, tak że wszyscy byli zdumieni i chwalili Boga, mówiąc: Nigdy nie widzieliśmy czegoś takiego.
And he arose, and straightway took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
13 I wyszedł znów nad morze. I przychodził do niego cały lud, a on ich nauczał.
And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.
14 A przechodząc, zobaczył Lewiego, [syna] Alfeusza, siedzącego w punkcie celnym, i powiedział do niego: Pójdź za mną. A on wstał i poszedł za nim.
And as he passed by, he saw Levi the [son] of Alphæus sitting at the place of toll, and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.
15 Kiedy Jezus siedział za stołem w jego domu, razem z Jezusem i jego uczniami siedziało wielu celników i grzeszników. Było ich bowiem wielu i chodzili za nim.
And it came to pass, that he was sitting at meat in his house, and many publicans and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.
16 A uczeni w Piśmie i faryzeusze, widząc, że je z celnikami i grzesznikami, mówili do jego uczniów: Cóż to [jest], że on je i pije z celnikami i grzesznikami?
And the scribes of the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and publicans, said unto his disciples, [How is it] that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?
17 A Jezus, usłyszawszy to, powiedział im: Nie zdrowi, lecz chorzy potrzebują lekarza. Nie przyszedłem wzywać do pokuty sprawiedliwych, ale grzeszników.
And when Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of a physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.
18 A uczniowie Jana i faryzeuszy pościli. Przyszli więc i pytali go: Czemu uczniowie Jana i faryzeuszy poszczą, a twoi uczniowie nie poszczą?
And John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting: and they come and say unto him, Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?
19 I odpowiedział im Jezus: Czy przyjaciele oblubieńca mogą pościć, gdy jest z nimi oblubieniec? Dopóki mają ze sobą oblubieńca, nie mogą pościć.
And Jesus said unto them, Can the sons of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.
20 Lecz przyjdą dni, gdy oblubieniec zostanie od nich zabrany, a wtedy, w tych dniach, będą pościć.
But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then will they fast in that day.
21 Nikt nie przyszywa łaty z nowego sukna do starej szaty, inaczej nowa łata ujmuje [nieco] od starej [szaty] i rozdarcie staje się gorsze.
No man seweth a piece of undressed cloth on an old garment: else that which should fill it up taketh from it, the new from the old, and a worse rent is made.
22 Nikt też nie wlewa młodego wina do starych bukłaków, bo inaczej młode wino rozsadza bukłaki i wino wycieka, a bukłaki się psują. Lecz nowe wino należy wlewać do nowych bukłaków.
And no man putteth new wine into old wine-skins; else the wine will burst the skins, and the wine perisheth, and the skins: but [they put] new wine into fresh wine-skins.
23 A gdy Jezus szedł w szabat przez zboża, jego uczniowie zaczęli po drodze zrywać kłosy.
And it came to pass, that he was going on the sabbath day through the grainfields; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears.
24 Wtedy faryzeusze mówili do niego: Spójrz, czemu oni robią w szabat to, czego nie wolno [robić]?
And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
25 A on im odpowiedział: Nigdy nie czytaliście, co zrobił Dawid, gdy znalazł się w potrzebie i był głodny, on i ci, którzy z nim byli?
And he said unto them, Did ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was hungry, he, and they that were with him?
26 Jak wszedł do domu Bożego za Abiatara, najwyższego kapłana, i jadł chleby pokładne, których nie wolno było jeść nikomu oprócz kapłanów, i dał również tym, którzy z nim byli?
How he entered into the house of God when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the showbread, which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests, and gave also to them that were with him?
27 Powiedział im także: Szabat został ustanowiony dla człowieka, a nie człowiek dla szabatu.
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
28 Dlatego Syn Człowieczy jest też Panem szabatu.
so that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.
