زکریا 2

۱ 1 و چشمان خود را برافراشته، نگریستم ومردی که ریسمانکاری به‌دست خودداشت دیدم.

I lifted up mine eyes again, and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring-line in his hand.

۲ 2 و گفتم که «کجا می‌روی؟» او مراگفت: «به جهت پیمودن اورشلیم تا ببینم عرضش چه و طولش چه می‌باشد.»

Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.

۳ 3 و اینک فرشته‌ای که با من تکلم می‌نمودبیرون رفت و فرشته دیگر برای ملاقات وی بیرون آمده،

And behold, the angel who talked with me went forth, and another angel went forth to meet him,

۴ 4 وی را گفت: «بشتاب و این جوان راخطاب کرده، بگو: اورشلیم به‌سبب کثرت مردمان و بهایمی که در اندرونش خواهند بود، مثل دهات بی‌حصار مسکون خواهد شد.

and said to him, Run, speak to that young man, saying: Jerusalem shall be inhabited without walls On account of the multitude of men and of cattle within her.

۵ 5 وخداوند می‌گوید که من به اطرافش دیواری آتشین خواهم بود و در اندرونش جلال خواهم بود.

And I will be to her, saith Jehovah, A wall of fire round about, And glory will I be within her.

۶ 6 هان هان خداوند می‌گوید از زمین شمال بگریزید زیرا که شما را مثل چهار باد آسمان پراکنده ساخته‌ام. قول خداوند این است.

Ho! ho! flee ye out of the land of the North, saith Jehovah; For toward the four winds of heaven have I scattered you abroad, saith Jehovah.

۷ 7 هان‌ای صهیون که با دختر بابل ساکن هستی، خویشتن را رستگار ساز.

Ho, Zion, escape, Thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon!

۸ 8 زیرا یهوه صبایوت که مرا بعد ازجلال نزد امت هایی که شما را غارت کردندفرستاده است، چنین می‌گوید که هر‌که شما رالمس نماید مردمک چشم او را لمس نموده است.

For thus saith Jehovah of hosts: For glory hath he sent me to the nations which plundered you; (For he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.)

۹ 9 «زیرا اینک من دست خود را بر ایشان خواهم افشاند و ایشان غارت بندگان خودشان خواهند شد و شما خواهید دانست که یهوه صبایوت مرا فرستاده است.

For, behold, I will shake my hand over them, And they shall be a spoil to those that served them; And ye shall know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me.

۱۰ 10 ‌ای دختر صهیون ترنم نما و شادی کن زیرا خداوند می‌گوید که اینک می‌آیم و در میان تو ساکن خواهم شد.

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For, behold, I will come, And I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith Jehovah;

۱۱ 11 ودر آن روز امت های بسیار به خداوند ملصق شده، قوم من خواهند شد و من در میان تو سکنی خواهم گرفت و خواهی دانست که یهوه صبایوت مرا نزد تو فرستاده است.

And many nations shall join themselves to Jehovah in that day, And shall be my people; And I will dwell in the midst of thee; And thou shalt know that Jehovah of hosts hath sent me to thee.

۱۲ 12 و خداوند یهودا را درزمین مقدس برای ملک خود به تصرف خواهدآورد و اورشلیم را بار دیگر خواهد برگزید.

And Jehovah will possess Judah as his portion in the holy land, And will again choose Jerusalem.

۱۳ 13 ‌ای تمامی بشر به حضور خداوند خاموش باشید زیرا که او از مسکن مقدس خود برخاسته است.»

Be silent, all flesh, before Jehovah! For he riseth up from his holy habitation.
