مزامیر 127

۱ 1 سرود درجات از سلیمان اگر خداوند خانه را بنا نکند، بنایانش زحمت بی‌فایده می‌کشند. اگر خداوند شهر را پاسبانی نکند، پاسبانان بی‌فایده پاسبانی می‌کنند.

Unless Adonai builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless Adonai watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain.

۲ 2 بی‌فایده است که شماصبح زود برمی خیزید و شب دیر می‌خوابید و نان مشقت را می‌خورید. همچنان محبوبان خویش را خواب می‌بخشد.

It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his yadid ·beloved· ones.

۳ 3 اینک پسران میراث ازجانب خداوند می‌باشند و ثمره رحم، اجرتی ازاوست.

Behold, children are a heritage of Adonai. The fruit of the womb is his reward.

۴ 4 مثل تیرها در دست مرد زور آور، همچنان هستند پسران جوانی.

As arrows in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of youth.

۵ 5 خوشابحال کسی‌که ترکش خود را از ایشان پر کرده است. خجل نخواهند شد بلکه با دشمنان، در دروازه سخن خواهند راند.

Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. They won’t be disappointed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.
