۱ 1 سرود درجات نزد خداوند در تنگی خود فریادکردم و مرا اجابت فرمود.

A Song of Ascents. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he answered me.

۲ 2 ‌ای خداوند جان مرا خلاصی ده از لب دروغ و از زبان حیله گر.

Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, [and] from a deceitful tongue.

۳ 3 چه چیز به تو داده شود و چه چیز بر توافزوده گردد، ای زبان حیله گر؟

What shall be given unto thee, and what shall be done more unto thee, thou deceitful tongue?

۴ 4 تیرهای تیزجباران با اخگرهای طاق!

Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

۵ 5 وای بر من که در ماشک ماوا گزیده‌ام و در خیمه های قیدار ساکن شده‌ام.

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

۶ 6 چه طویل شدسکونت جان من با کسی‌که سلامتی را دشمن می‌دارد.

My soul hath long had her dwelling with him that hateth peace.

۷ 7 من از اهل سلامتی هستم، لیکن چون سخن می‌گویم، ایشان آماده جنگ می‌باشند.

I am [for] peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
