ایّوب 6
| و ایوب جواب داده، گفت: | ۱ 1 |
Then Job answered and said,
| «کاش که غصه من سنجیده شود. و مشقت مرا درمیزان با آن بگذارند. | ۲ 2 |
Oh that my vexation were but weighed, and my calamity laid in the balances together!
| زیرا که الان از ریگ دریاسنگینتر است. از این سبب سخنان من بیهوده می‌باشد. | ۳ 3 |
For now it would be heavier than the sand of the seas: therefore have my words been rash.
| زیرا تیرهای قادرمطلق در اندرون من است. و روح من زهر آنها را می‌آشامد، و ترسهای خدا بر من صف آرایی می‌کند. | ۴ 4 |
For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof my spirit drinketh up: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
| آیا گورخر باداشتن علف عرعر می‌کند؟ و یا گاو بر آذوقه خودبانگ می‌زند؟ | ۵ 5 |
Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or loweth the ox over his fodder?
| آیا چیز بی‌مزه، بی‌نمک خورده می‌شود؟ و یا در سفیده تخم، طعم می‌باشد؟ | ۶ 6 |
Can that which hath no savour be eaten without salt? or is there any taste in the white of an egg?
| جان من از لمس نمودن آنها کراهت دارد. آنهابرای من مثل خوراک، زشت است. | ۷ 7 |
My soul refuseth to touch [them]; they are as loathsome meat to me.
| «کاش که مسالت من برآورده شود، و خداآرزوی مرا به من بدهد! | ۸ 8 |
Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant [me] the thing that I long for.
| و خدا راضی شود که مرا خرد کند، و دست خود را بلند کرده، مرامنقطع سازد! | ۹ 9 |
Even that it would please God to crush me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
| آنگاه معهذا مرا تسلی می‌شد ودر عذاب الیم شاد می‌شدم، چونکه کلمات حضرت قدوس را انکار ننمودم. | ۱۰ 10 |
Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would exult in pain that spareth not: for I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
| من چه قوت دارم که انتظار بکشم و عاقبت من چیست که صبرنمایم؟ | ۱۱ 11 |
What is my strength, that I should wait? and what is mine end, at I should be patient?
| آیا قوت من قوت سنگها است؟ و یاگوشت من برنج است؟ | ۱۲ 12 |
Is my strength the strength of stones? or is my flesh of brass?
| آیا بالکل بی‌اعانت نیستم؟ و مساعدت از من مطرود نشده است؟ | ۱۳ 13 |
Is it not that I have no help in me, and that effectual working is driven quite from me?
| حق شکسته دل از دوستش ترحم است، اگر‌چه هم ترس قادر مطلق را ترک نماید. | ۱۴ 14 |
To him that is ready to faint kindness [should be shewed] from his friend; even to him that forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
| اما برادران من مثل نهرها مرا فریب دادند، مثل رودخانه وادیها که می‌گذرند. | ۱۵ 15 |
My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, as the channel of brooks that pass away;
| که از یخ سیاه فام می‌باشند، و برف در آنها مخفی است. | ۱۶ 16 |
Which are black by reason of the ice, [and] wherein the snow hideth itself:
| وقتی که آب از آنها می‌رود، نابود می‌شوند. و چون گرماشود، از جای خود ناپدید می‌گردند. | ۱۷ 17 |
What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place.
| کاروانیان از راه خود منحرف می‌شوند، و در بیابان داخل شده، هلاک می‌گردند. | ۱۸ 18 |
The caravans [that travel] by the way of them turn aside; they go up into the waste, and perish.
| کاروانیان تیما به آنهانگران بودند. قافله های سبا امید آن را داشتند. | ۱۹ 19 |
The caravans of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them.
| از امید خود خجل گردیدند. به آنجا رسیدند وشرمنده گشتند. | ۲۰ 20 |
They were ashamed because they had hoped; they came thither, and were confounded.
| زیرا که الان شما مثل آنهاشده‌اید، مصیبتی دیدید و ترسان گشتید. | ۲۱ 21 |
For now ye are nothing; ye see a terror, and are afraid.
| آیاگفتم که چیزی به من ببخشید؟ یا ارمغانی از اموال خود به من بدهید؟ | ۲۲ 22 |
Did I say, Give unto me? or, offer a present for me of your substance?
| یا مرا از دست دشمن رهاکنید؟ و مرا از دست ظالمان فدیه دهید؟ | ۲۳ 23 |
Or, Deliver me from the adversary’s hand? or, Redeem me from the hand of the oppressors?
| «مرا تعلیم دهید و من خاموش خواهم شد، و مرا بفهمانید که در چه چیز خطا کردم. | ۲۴ 24 |
Teach me, and I will hold my peace: and cause me to understand wherein I have erred.
| سخنان راستی چقدر زورآور است! اما تنبیه شما چه نتیجه می‌بخشد؟ | ۲۵ 25 |
How forcible are words of uprightness! but what doth your arguing reprove?
| آیا گمان می‌برید که سخنان را تنبیه می‌نمایید و سخنان مایوس را که مثل باد است؟ | ۲۶ 26 |
Do ye imagine to reprove words? seeing that the speeches of one that is desperate are as wind.
| یقین برای یتیم قرعه می‌اندازیدو دوست خود را مال تجارت می‌شمارید. | ۲۷ 27 |
Yea, ye would cast [lots] upon the fatherless, and make merchandise of your friend.
| پس الان التفات کرده، بر من توجه نمایید، و روبه‌روی شما دروغ نخواهم گفت. | ۲۸ 28 |
Now therefore be pleased to look upon me; for surely I shall not lie to your face.
| برگردید و بی‌انصافی نباشد، و باز برگردید زیرا عدالت من قایم است. | ۲۹ 29 |
Return, I pray you, let there be no injustice; yea, return again, my cause is righteous.
| آیا در زبان من بی‌انصافی می‌باشد؟ و آیا کام من چیزهای فاسد را تمیز نمی دهد؟ | ۳۰ 30 |
Is there injustice on my tongue? cannot my taste discern mischievous things?
