ایّوب 15
| پس الیفاز تیمانی در جواب گفت: | ۱ 1 |
Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
| «آیامرد حکیم از علم باطل جواب دهد؟ وبطن خود را از باد شرقی پر سازد؟ | ۲ 2 |
Should a wise man make answer with windy knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
| آیا به سخن بی‌فایده محاجه نماید؟ و به کلماتی که هیچ نفع نمی بخشد؟ | ۳ 3 |
Should he reason with unprofitable talk, or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
| اما تو خداترسی را ترک می‌کنی وتقوا را به حضور خدا ناقص می‌سازی. | ۴ 4 |
Yea, thou doest away with fear, and impairest devotion before God.
| زیرا که دهانت، معصیت تو را ظاهر می‌سازد و زبان حیله گران را اختیار می‌کنی. | ۵ 5 |
For thine iniquity teacheth thy mouth, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
| دهان خودت تو راملزم می‌سازد و نه من، و لبهایت بر تو شهادت می‌دهد. | ۶ 6 |
Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
| آیا شخص اول از آدمیان زاییده شده‌ای؟ و پیش از تلها به وجود آمده‌ای؟ | ۷ 7 |
Art thou the first man that was born? Or wast thou brought forth before the hills?
| آیامشورت مخفی خدا را شنیده‌ای و حکمت را برخود منحصر ساخته‌ای؟ | ۸ 8 |
Dost thou hearken in the council of God? And dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
| چه می‌دانی که ما هم نمی دانیم؟ و چه می‌فهمی که نزد ما هم نیست؟ | ۹ 9 |
What knowest thou, that we know not? What understandest thou, which is not in us?
| نزد ما ریش سفیدان و پیران هستند که درروزها از پدر تو بزرگترند. | ۱۰ 10 |
With us are both the gray-headed and the very aged men, much older than thy father.
| آیا تسلی های خدابرای تو کم است و کلام ملایم با تو؟ | ۱۱ 11 |
Are the consolations of God too small for thee, and the word that dealeth gently with thee?
| چرا دلت تو را می‌رباید؟ و چرا چشمانت را بر هم می‌زنی | ۱۲ 12 |
Why doth thy heart carry thee away? And why do thine eyes wink?
| که روح خود را به ضد خدا بر می‌گردانی، وچنین سخنان را از دهانت بیرون می‌آوری؟ | ۱۳ 13 |
That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth.
| «انسان چیست که پاک باشد، و مولود زن که عادل شمرده شود؟ | ۱۴ 14 |
What is man, that he should be clean? And he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
| اینک بر مقدسان خوداعتماد ندارد، و آسمانها در نظرش پاک نیست. | ۱۵ 15 |
Behold, He putteth no trust in His holy ones; yea, the heavens are not clean in His sight.
| پس از طریق اولی انسان مکروه و فاسد که شرارت را مثل آب می‌نوشد. | ۱۶ 16 |
How much less one that is abominable and impure, man who drinketh iniquity like water!
| من برای تو بیان می‌کنم پس مرا بشنو. و آنچه دیده‌ام حکایت می‌نمایم. | ۱۷ 17 |
I will tell thee, hear thou me; and that which I have seen I will declare —
| که حکیمان آن را از پدران خودروایت کردند و مخفی نداشتند، | ۱۸ 18 |
Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it;
| که به ایشان به تنهایی زمین داده شد، و هیچ غریبی از میان ایشان عبور نکرد، | ۱۹ 19 |
Unto whom alone the land was given, and no stranger passed among them.
| شریر در تمامی روزهایش مبتلای درد است. و سالهای شمرده شده برای مرد ظالم مهیا است. | ۲۰ 20 |
The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.
| صدای ترسها در گوش وی است. در وقت سلامتی تاراج کننده بر وی می‌آید. | ۲۱ 21 |
A sound of terrors is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
| باور نمی کند که از تاریکی خواهد برگشت وشمشیر برای او مراقب است. | ۲۲ 22 |
He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
| برای نان می‌گردد و می‌گوید کجاست. و می‌داند که روزتاریکی نزد او حاضر است. | ۲۳ 23 |
He wandereth abroad for bread: 'Where is it?' He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
| تنگی و ضیق او رامی ترساند، مثل پادشاه مهیای جنگ بر او غلبه می‌نماید. | ۲۴ 24 |
Distress and anguish overwhelm him; they prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
| زیرا دست خود را به ضد خدا درازمی کند و بر قادر مطلق تکبر می‌نماید. | ۲۵ 25 |
Because he hath stretched out his hand against God, and behaveth himself proudly against the Almighty;
| با گردن بلند بر او تاخت می‌آورد، با گل میخهای سخت سپر خویش، | ۲۶ 26 |
He runneth upon him with a stiff neck, with the thick bosses of his bucklers.
| چونکه روی خود را به پیه پوشانیده، و کمر خود را با شحم ملبس ساخته است. | ۲۷ 27 |
Because he hath covered his face with his fatness, and made collops of fat on his loins;
| و در شهرهای ویران و خانه های غیرمسکون که نزدیک به خراب شدن است ساکن می‌شود. | ۲۸ 28 |
And he hath dwelt in desolate cities, in houses which no man would inhabit, which were ready to become heaps.
| او غنی نخواهد شد و دولتش پایدارنخواهد ماند، و املاک او در زمین زیاد نخواهد گردید. | ۲۹ 29 |
He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall their produce bend to the earth.
| از تاریکی رها نخواهد شد، و آتش، شاخه هایش را خواهد خشکانید، و به نفخه دهان او زائل خواهد شد. | ۳۰ 30 |
He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of His mouth shall he go away.
| به بطالت توکل ننماید وخود را فریب ندهد، والا بطالت اجرت او خواهدبود. | ۳۱ 31 |
Let him not trust in vanity, deceiving himself; for vanity shall be his recompense.
| قبل از رسیدن وقتش تمام ادا خواهد شدو شاخه او سبز نخواهد ماند. | ۳۲ 32 |
It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be leafy.
| مثل مو، غوره خود را خواهد افشاند، و مثل زیتون، شکوفه خود را خواهد ریخت، | ۳۳ 33 |
He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
| زیرا که جماعت ریاکاران، بی‌کس خواهند ماند، و خیمه های رشوه خواران را آتش خواهد سوزانید. | ۳۴ 34 |
For the company of the godless shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tents of bribery.
| به شقاوت حامله شده، معصیت را می‌زایند و شکم ایشان فریب را آماده می‌کند.» | ۳۵ 35 |
They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
