ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ 23
1 ੧ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸੁੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
And it came to pass a long time after that Yhwh had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age.
2 ੨ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਸ਼ੁਆ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ, ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ, ਨਿਆਂਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਬੁੱਢਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age:
3 ੩ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੇਖ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਲੜਿਆ ਹੈ।
And ye have seen all that Yhwh your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for Yhwh your God is he that hath fought for you.
4 ੪ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਕੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਗੋਤਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮਿਲਖ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਯਰਦਨ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਤੱਕ ਸੂਰਜ ਦੇ ਲਹਿੰਦੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਸਣੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੱਢ ਛੱਡੀਆਂ ਸਨ
Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward.
5 ੫ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਤਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਓਗੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
And Yhwh your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as Yhwh your God hath promised unto you.
6 ੬ ਸੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਤਕੜੇ ਹੋਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪੋਥੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਲਿਖਤ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਸੱਜੇ ਖੱਬੇ ਨਾ ਮੁੜੋ
Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;
7 ੭ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਵੜੋ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਵੀ ਜੁਬਾਨ ਤੇ ਨਾ ਲਿਆਓ, ਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਦੇਵੋ, ਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕੋ।
That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
But cleave unto Yhwh your God, as ye have done unto this day.
9 ੯ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਲਵੰਤ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਠਹਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਿਆ
For Yhwh hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
10 ੧੦ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਲੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਚਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
One man of you shall chase a thousand: for Yhwh your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love Yhwh your God.
12 ੧੨ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿਛੇ ਹੱਟ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਚੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਚਿੰਬੜੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਆਹ ਸ਼ਾਦੀ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜਨ
Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
13 ੧੩ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੱਕੇ ਤੋਰ ਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਰੱਖੋ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਫਿਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੱਢੇਗਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਫਾਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਲ਼ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਵੱਖੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਰੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੰਡੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਇਸ ਚੰਗੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਾਸ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ।
Know for a certainty that Yhwh your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which Yhwh your God hath given you.
14 ੧੪ ਵੇਖੋ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਚੰਗਿਆਂ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਬਚਨ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋਏ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਬਚਨ ਵੀ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਏ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ।
And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which Yhwh your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
15 ੧੫ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੰਗੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵੀ ਲਿਆਵੇਗਾ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਚੰਗੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਨਾਸ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੇ।
Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which Yhwh your God promised you; so shall Yhwh bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which Yhwh your God hath given you.
16 ੧੬ ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੀ ਉਲੰਘਣਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਜਿਹ ਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੜਕ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਇਸ ਚੰਗੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਓਗੇ।
When ye have transgressed the covenant of Yhwh your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of Yhwh be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
