1 Yaa bareedduu ko, ati akkam miidhagda! Dinqii ati akkam bareedda! Iji kee haguuggii kee duubaan gugee fakkaata. Rifeensi mataa keetii akkuma karra reʼootaa kan gaara Giliʼaad irraa gad buʼuu ti.
[HE] Lo! thou art beautiful, my fair one, Lo! thou art beautiful, Thine eyes, are doves, from behind thy veil, —Thy hair, is like a flock of goats, which are reclining on the sides of Mount Gilead:
2 Ilkaan kee akkuma karra hoolotaa kan rifeensi irraa haadamee dhiqamee ol dhufaa jiruu ti. Tokkoon tokkoon isaanii lakkuu qabu; isaan keessa maseenni tokko iyyuu hin jiru.
Thy teeth, are like a flock, evenly grown, which have come up from the washing-place, —whereof, all of them, are twin-bearers, and bereaved, is none among them:
3 Hidhiin kee akkuma kirrii bildiimaa ti; haasaan kee namatti tola. Maddiin kee lamaan haguuggii kee keessatti roomaanii tokkicha iddoo lamatti qoodame fakkaata.
Like a cord of crimson, are thy lips, and, thy mouth, is lovely, —Like a slice of pomegranate, are thy temples, behind thy veil:
4 Mormi kee gamoo Daawit kan miʼa lolaa itti kuusuuf ijaarame sana fakkaata; isa irratti gaachana kumatu rarraafama; hundinuu gaachana loltootaa ti.
Like the tower of David, is thy neck, built for war, —A thousand shields, hung thereon, all, equipment of heroes:
5 Guntunni kee lamaan akkuma ilmoolee kuruphee kanneen lakkuu dhalatanii daraaraa keessa dheedanii ti.
Thy two breasts, are like two young roes, twins of a gazelle, —which pasture among lilies.
6 Hamma bariʼee gaaddisni baduutti, ani gara tulluu qumbiitii fi gara gaara ixaanaa nan dhaqa.
Until the day, breathe, and the shadows, be lengthened, I will get me unto the mountain of myrrh, and unto the hill of frankincense.
7 Yaa jaalallee ko, ati guutumaan guutuutti bareedduu dha; ati mudaa tokko illee hin qabdu.
Thou art, all over, beautiful, my fair one, and, blemish, is there none in thee.
8 Yaa misirrittii ko, Libaanoonii na wajjin kottu; Libaanoonii na wajjin kottu. Fiixee Amaanaa irraa, fiixee Seniir, fiixee Hermoon irraa gad buʼi; holqa leencaa keessaa, tulluu oolmaa qeerransaa irraas gad buʼi.
With me, from Lebanon, O bride, with me, from Lebanon, shalt thou enter, —Thou shalt look round from the top of Amana, from the top of Senir, and Hermon, from the dens of lions, from the mountains of leopards.
9 Yaa obboleettii ko, yaa misirrittii ko, ati qalbii koo hatteerta; ati milʼuu ija keetii tokkoon, faaya morma keetii tokkoon qalbii koo hatteerta.
Thou hast encouraged me, my sister, bride, —thou hast encouraged me, with one [glance] of thine eyes, with one ornament of thy neck.
10 Yaa obboleettii ko, yaa misirrittii ko, jaalalli kee akkam nama gammachiisa! Jaalalli kee daadhii wayinii caalaa, urgaan shittoo keetiis urgooftuu kam iyyuu caalaa akkam namatti tola!
How beautiful are thy caresses, my sister, bride, —how much more delightful thy caresses, than wine, and the fragrance of thine oils, than all spices:
11 Yaa misirrittii ko, hidhiin kee akkuma dhaaba dammaa nadhii coccobsa; aannanii fi dammi arraba kee jala jira. Urgaan uffata keetii akkuma urgaa Libaanoon.
With sweetness, thy lips do drip, O bride, —Honey and milk, are under thy tongue, and, the fragrance of thy garments, is like the fragrance of Lebanon.
12 Yaa obboleettii ko, yaa misirrittii ko, ati akkuma iddoo biqiltuu cufamee ti; ati burqaa dallaan itti ijaaramee fi madda chaappaan cufamee dha.
A garden barred, is my sister, bride, —a spring barred, a fountain sealed:
13 Biqiltuun kee iddoo roomaanii kan ija filatamaa heennaa fi naardoos qabuu dha;
Thy buddings forth, are a paradise of pomegranates, with precious fruits, —henna bushes, with nard blossoms:
14 akkasumas naardoosii fi marga urgaaʼu, qundhii fi qarafaa, muka ixaanaa gosa garaa garaa, qumbii, argeessaa fi urgooftuu akka malee gaarii hunda qaba.
Nard and saffron, sweet cane and cinnamon, with all woods of frankincense, —myrrh and aloes, with all the chiefs of spices:
15 Ati burqaa biqiltuu keessaa ti; bishaan boollaa yaaʼu kan Libaanoon irraa gad dhangalaʼuu dha.
A garden fountain, a well of living waters, —and flowings from Lebanon.
16 Yaa bubbee kaabaa dammaqi; bubbeen kibbaas kottu! Akka urgaan isaa naannoo hunda waliin gaʼuuf biqiltuu koo irratti bubbisi. Michuun koo dhufee, biqiltuu seenee ija filatamaa haa nyaatu.
[SHE] Awake, O north wind, and come in, thou south, Fan my garden—its balsams, will flow out, —Let my beloved enter his garden, and eat his precious fruits.
