Iyyaasuu 16
1 Qoodni Yoosef Yordaanos Yerikoo biratti argamtu, karaa baʼa bishaanota Yerikootii kaʼee gammoojjii keessa qaxxaamuree biyya gaaraa Beetʼeelitti ol baʼa.
And the lot for the sons of Joseph goes out from Jordan [by] Jericho, to the waters of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness going up from Jericho in the hill-country of Beth-El,
2 Luuzi ishee Beetʼeel jedhamtu sanaa kaʼee gara biyya Arkaawotaa kan Axaaroti keessatti argamtu sanaatti ceʼa.
and has gone out from Beth-El to Luz, and passed over to the border of Archi [to] Ataroth,
3 Achii immoo gara lixaa biyya Yafleexotaatti gad buʼee Beet Horoon gaʼee gara Geezir itti fufee galaanicha gaʼee dhaabata.
and gone down westward to the border of Japhleti, to the border of the lower Beth-Horon, and to Gezer, and its outgoings have been at the sea.
4 Akkasitti Minaasee fi Efreem, ilmaan Yoosef dhaala isaanii argatan.
And the sons of Joseph—Manasseh and Ephraim—inherit.
5 Qoodni gosti Efreem balbala balbalaan argatte kunoo kana: Daariin dhaala isaanii gara baʼaatiin Axaaroti Adaarii kaʼee hamma Beet Horoon gara Ol aanuutti deemee
And the border of the sons of Ephraim is by their families; and the border of their inheritance is on the east, Atroth-Addar to the upper Beth-Horon;
6 hamma galaanaatti itti fufa. Karaa kaabaatiin Mikmetaatii kaʼee karaa baʼaatiin gara Taanaat Shiiloo goree achiin darbee baʼa Yaanoʼaatti qajeela.
and the border has gone out at the sea, to Michmethah on the north, and the border has gone around eastward [to] Taanath-Shiloh, and passed over it eastward to Janohah,
7 Ergasii immoo Yaanoʼaadhaa kaʼee Axaarotii fi Naʼaraatti gad buʼee Yerikoo irra naannaʼee Yordaanositti gad baʼa.
and gone down from Janohah [to] Ataroth, and to Naarath, and touched against Jericho, and gone out at the Jordan.
8 Daariin sun Tafuuʼaadhaa kaʼee gama Lixaatiin Laga Qaanaatti gad buʼee galaana gaʼee dhaabata. Dhaalli gosti Efreem balbala balbalaan argatte kanaa dha.
From Tappuah the border goes westward to the Brook of Kanah, and its outgoings have been at the sea: this [is] the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, for their families.
9 Daariin kun magaalaawwanii fi olloota isaanii kanneen dhaala gosa Minaasee keessatti gosa Efreemiif hambifaman hundas ni dabalata.
And the separate cities of the sons of Ephraim [are] in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, all the cities and their villages;
10 Isaan Kanaʼaanota Geezir keessa jiraachaa turan sana ariʼanii achii hin baafne ture; hamma harʼaatti Kanaʼaanonni saba Efreem gidduu jiraatu; garuu akka hojii humnaa hojjetan dirqamu.
and they have not dispossessed the Canaanite who is dwelling in Gezer, and the Canaanite dwells in the midst of Ephraim to this day, and is for forced labor—serving.
