< Iyyoob 20 >
1 Zoofaari Naaʼimaatichi akkana jedhee deebise:
And Zophar the Naamathite answers and says:
2 “Waan ani akka malee jeeqameef, yaadni koo akka ani deebii kennu na kakaasa.
“Therefore my thoughts cause me to answer, And because of my sensations in me.
3 Ani dheekkamsa na qaanessu dhagaʼaan jira; qalbiin koos akka ani deebii kennu na kakaasa.
I hear the discipline of my shame, And the spirit of my understanding causes me to answer:
4 “Ati erga namni lafa irra kaaʼamee bara duriitii jalqabee wanni kun akkam akka ture ni beekta mitii?
Have you known this from antiquity? Since the placing of man on earth?
5 Burraaquun jalʼootaa yeroo gabaabaaf tura; gammachuun warra Waaqaaf hin bullees akkuma liphsuu ijaa ti.
That the singing of the wicked [is] short, And the joy of the profane for a moment,
6 Of tuulummaan isaa samiiwwan gaʼee mataan isaa duumessawwan tuqus,
Though his excellence goes up to the heavens, He strikes his head against a cloud—
7 inni akkuma awwaaraa bara baraan bada; warri duraan isa arganis, ‘Inni eessa jira?’ jedhu.
He perishes as his own dung forever, His beholders say, Where [is] he?
8 Inni akkuma abjuu fiigee bada; deebiʼees hin argamu; akkuma mulʼata halkaniis dafee dhabama.
He flees as a dream, and they do not find him, And he is driven away as a vision of the night,
9 Iji isaa argee ture deebiʼee isa hin argu; iddoon isaas siʼachi isa hin ilaalu.
The eye has not seen him, and does not add. And his place does not behold him again.
10 Ijoolleen isaa hiyyeeyyiif beenyaa baasu; harki isaas qabeenya inni saame deebisee kennuu qaba.
His sons oppress the poor, And his hands give back his wealth.
11 Jabinni dargaggummaa kan lafee isaa keessa guute sun, isa wajjin biyyoo keessa ciisa.
His bones have been full of his youth, and it lies down with him on the dust.
12 “Hamminni afaan isaa keessatti miʼaawee inni arraba isaa jala dhokfatu iyyuu,
Though he sweetens evil in his mouth, hides it under his tongue,
13 inni afaanii baafatee gatuu jibbee afaanuma ofii isaa keessa turfatu iyyuu,
has pity on it, and does not forsake it, and keeps it back in the midst of his palate,
14 nyaanni isaa garaa isaa keessatti dhangaggaaʼa; isa keessattis hadhaa bofaa taʼa.
his food is turned in his bowels, the bitterness of cobras [is] in his heart.
15 Inni qabeenya liqimse sana ni tufa; Waaqnis akka garaan isaa waan sana diddigu ni godha.
He has swallowed wealth, and vomits it. God drives it out from his belly.
16 Inni summii bofaa xuuxa; arrabni buutiis isa ajjeesa.
He sucks [the] gall of cobras, the tongue of a viper slays him.
17 Inni laga yaaʼu, burqaa dammaatii fi dhadhaa hin argu.
He does not look on streams, Flowing of brooks of honey and butter.
18 Inni waan itti dadhabe utuu hin nyaatin deebisa; buʼaa daldala isaa irraa argatettis hin gammadu.
He is giving back [what] he labored for, and does not consume [it]; As a bulwark [is] his exchange, and he does not exult.
19 Inni hiyyeeyyii hacuucee harka duwwaa hambiseeraatii; mana ofii hin ijaarinis humnaan fudhateera.
For he oppressed—he forsook the poor, He has taken a house away violently, And he does not build it.
20 “Hawwii isaa hamaa sana irraa boqonnaa hin argatu; inni qabeenya isaatiin of oolchuu hin dandaʼu.
For he has not known ease in his belly. With his desirable thing he does not deliver himself.
21 Wanni inni nyaatu tokko iyyuu hin hafuuf; badhaadhummaan isaas itti fufee hin jiraatu.
There is not a remnant to his food, Therefore his good does not stay.
22 Utuma inni waan hunda qabuu rakkinni isatti dhufa; dhiphinni cimaanis isa qabata.
In the fullness of his sufficiency he is constricted. Every perverse hand meets him.
23 Yeroo inni garaa isaa guutatutti, Waaqni dheekkamsa isaa sodaachisaa sana itti erga; dhaʼicha isaa illee itti roobsa.
It comes to pass, at the filling of his belly, He sends forth against him The fierceness of His anger, Indeed, He rains on him in his eating.
24 Inni miʼa lolaa sibiilaa baqatu illee, xiyya naasiitu isa waraana.
He flees from an iron weapon, A bow of bronze passes through him.
25 Dudga isaa keessaa xiyya, tiruu isaa keessaa immoo fiixee calaqqisu buqqisa. Sodaan guddaan isa qabata;
One has drawn, And it comes out from the body, And a glittering weapon proceeds from his gall. Terrors [are] on him.
26 dukkanni limixiinis riphee qabeenya isaa eeggata. Ibiddi namni tokko iyyuu hin afarsin gubee isa fixa; waan dunkaana isaa keessatti hafes ni barbadeessa.
All darkness is hid for his treasures, A fire not blown consumes him, The remnant is broken in his tent.
27 Samiiwwan balleessaa isaa saaxilu; laftis isatti kaati.
The heavens reveal his iniquity, And earth is raising itself against him.
28 Guyyaa dheekkamsa Waaqaatti lolaan mana isaa, bishaan yaaʼus miʼa isaa fudhatee deema.
The increase of his house is removed, Poured forth in a day of His anger.
29 Carraan Waaqni cubbamootaaf kennu, dhaalli Waaqni isaaniif qoodes kanuma.”
This [is] the portion of a wicked man from God. And an inheritance appointed him by God.”
