< Iyyoob 13 >
1 “Waan kana hunda iji koo argeera; gurri koos dhagaʼee hubateera.
“Behold, my eye has seen all, My ear has heard, and it attends to it.
2 Waan isin beektan anis beeka; ani isinii gad miti.
According to your knowledge I have known—also I. I am not more fallen than you.
3 Ani garuu Waaqa Waan Hunda Dandaʼutti nan dubbadha; waaʼee dhimma koos Waaqatti falmuu nan barbaada.
Yet I speak for the Mighty One, And I delight to argue for God.
4 Isin garuu sobaan nama faaltu; hundi keessan abbootii qorichaa kanneen faayidaa hin qabnee dha!
And yet, you [are] forgers of falsehood, Physicians of nothing—all of you,
5 Isin yoo cal jettan maal qaba! Wanni sun ogummaa isiniif taʼa.
O that you would keep perfectly silent, And it would be to you for wisdom.
6 Amma falmii koo dhagaʼaa; kadhannaa afaan kootiis dhaggeeffadhaa.
Please hear my argument, And attend to the pleadings of my lips,
7 Isin jalʼinaan Waaqaaf dubbattuu? Gowwoomsaadhaanis isaaf odeessituu?
Do you speak perverseness for God? And do you speak deceit for Him?
8 Isaaf ni loogduu? Waaqaafis ni falmituu?
Do you accept His face, if you strive for God?
9 Yoo inni isin qore wanni gaariin isin irraa argamaa? Isin akka nama gowwoomsitan, isa gowwoomsuu dandeessuu?
Is [it] good that He searches you, If, as one mocks at a man, you mock at Him?
10 Yoo isin dhoksaadhaan loogii hojjettan, inni dhugumaan isinitti dheekkama.
He surely reproves you, if you accept faces in secret.
11 Surraan isaa isin hin sodaachisuu? Sodaachisuun isaa isinitti hin dhagaʼamuu?
Does His excellence not terrify you? And His dread fall on you?
12 Fakkeenyi keessan fakkeenya daaraa ti; daʼoon keessanis daʼoo suphee ti.
Your remembrances [are] allegories of ashes, For high places of clay [are] your heights.
13 “Akka ani dubbadhuuf isin cal jedhaa; ergasii wanni barbaade natti haa dhufu.
Keep silent from me, and I speak, And pass over me what will.
14 Ani maaliifin foon koo ilkaan kootiin, lubbuu koos harka kootiin qabadha?
Why do I take my flesh in my teeth? And my soul put in my hand?
15 Yoo inni na ajjeese iyyuu ani isa nan abdadha; waaʼee dhimma kootii illee fuula isaa duratti nan falmadha.
Behold, He slays me—I do not wait! Only, I argue my ways to His face.
16 Kun fayyina koo ni taʼa; warri Waaqatti hin bulle fuula isaa duratti dhiʼaachuu hin dandaʼaniitii!
Also—He [is] to me for salvation, For the profane do not come before Him.
17 Dubbii koo qalbeeffadhaa dhaggeeffadhaa; waan ani jedhus gurri keessan haa dhagaʼu.
Hear my word diligently, And my declaration with your ears.
18 Kunoo ani himata koo qopheeffadheera; akka inni murtii qajeelaa naa kennus nan beeka.
Now behold, I have set the cause in order, I have known that I am righteous.
19 Namni na himatu jiraa? Yoo jiraate, ani nan calʼisa; nan duʼas.
Who [is] he that strives with me? For now I keep silent and gasp.
20 “Yaa Waaqayyo, ati wantoota kanneen lamaan naa kenni malee ani fuula kee duraa hin dhokadhu.
Only two things, O God, do with me, Then I am not hidden from Your face:
21 Harka kee narraa fageessi; sodaachisni kees na hin rifachiisin.
Put Your hand far off from me, And do not let Your terror terrify me.
22 Ergasii na waami; anis nan owwaadha; yookaan nan dubbadha; ati immoo deebii naa kennita.
And You call, and I answer, Or—I speak, and You answer me.
23 Ani balleessaa fi cubbuu hammamin hojjedhe? Yakka kootii fi cubbuu koo na beeksisi.
How many iniquities and sins do I have? Let me know my transgression and my sin.
24 Ati maaliif fuula kee dhokfattee akka diinaatti na ilaalta?
Why do You hide Your face? And reckon me for an enemy to You?
25 Baala qilleensi harcaase ni ciccirtaa? Habaqii gogaa ni ariitaa?
Do You terrify a leaf driven away? And do You pursue the dry stubble?
26 Ati waan ittiin na hadheessitu natti barreessitaatii; cubbuu dargaggummaa kootiis na dhaalchifta.
For You write bitter things against me, And cause me to possess iniquities of my youth,
27 Miilla koo jirma gidduu galchita; faana miilla kootiitti mallattoo gootee karaa koo hunda xiyyeeffattee duukaa buuta.
And you put my feet in the stocks, And observe all my paths—You set a print on the roots of my feet,
28 “Namnis akkuma waan bososeetti, akkuma wayyaa biliin nyaateetti ni dhuma.
And he, as a rotten thing, wears away, A moth has consumed him as a garment.”
