2 Seenaa 11
1 Rehooboʼaam yommuu Yerusaalem gaʼetti akka isaan Israaʼelitti duulanii Rehooboʼaamiif mootummaa deebisaniif jedhee mana Yihuudaa fi Beniyaam keessaa namoota loluu dandaʼan kuma dhibba tokkoo fi saddeettama walitti qabe.
And he came Rehoboam Jerusalem and he called together [the] house of Judah and Benjamin one hundred and eighty thousand chosen [man] maker[s] of war to do battle with Israel to restore the kingdom to Rehoboam.
2 Garuu dubbiin Waaqayyoo kun akkana jedhee gara nama Waaqaa gara Shemaaʼiyaa ni dhufe;
And it came [the] word of Yahweh to Shemaiah [the] man of God saying.
3 “Rehooboʼaam ilma Solomoon mooticha Yihuudaatii fi Israaʼeloota Yihuudaa fi Beniyaam keessa jiraatan hundaan akkana jedhi;
Say to Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon [the] king of Judah and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin saying.
4 ‘Waaqayyo akkana jedha: Obboloota keessan Israaʼeloota loluudhaaf jettanii ol hin baʼinaa. Sababii wanni kun ana biraa dhufeef tokkoon tokkoon keessan gara mana keessaniitti galaa.’” Kanaafuu isaan dubbii Waaqayyootiif ajajamanii Yerobiʼaamitti duuluu dhiisanii deebiʼan.
Thus he says Yahweh not you must go up and not you must do battle with countrymen your return everyone to own house his for from with me it has occurred the thing this and they obeyed [the] words of Yahweh and they turned back from going against Jeroboam.
5 Rehooboʼaam Yerusaalem keessa jiraatee Yihuudaa keessatti immoo magaalaawwan ittisaa ni ijaarrate; isaanis:
And he dwelt Rehoboam in Jerusalem and he built cities to fortification in Judah.
6 Beetlihem, Eexaam, Teqooʼaa,
And he built Beth-lehem and Etam and Tekoa.
7 Beet Zuuri, Sookoo, Adulaam,
And Beth Zur and Socoh and Adullam.
8 Gaati, Maareeshaa, Ziif,
And Gath and Mareshah and Ziph.
9 Adooraayim, Laakkiish, Azeeqaa,
And Adoraim and Lachish and Azekah.
10 Zoraa, Ayaaloonii fi Kebrooni. Isaan kunneen magaalaawwan Yihuudaa fi Beniyaam keessatti jabeeffamanii ijaaramanii dha.
And Zorah and Aijalon and Hebron which [were] in Judah and in Benjamin cities of fortifications.
11 Innis ittisa isaanii jajjabeessee ajajjoota itti galche; nyaata, zayitii ejersaatii fi daadhii wayiniis achitti ni kuuse.
And he strengthened the fortifications and he put in them commanders and supplies of food and oil and wine.
12 Magaalaawwan hunda keessas gaachanaa fi eeboo kaaʼee akka isaan jabaatan ni godhe. Akkasiinis Yihuudaa fi Beniyaamin kan ofii isaa godhate.
And [were] in every city and a city body shields and spears and he made strong them to abundance exceedingly and it belonged to him Judah and Benjamin.
13 Luboonnii fi Lewwonni aanaalee Israaʼel hunda keessa jiraatan gara isaa goran.
And the priests and the Levites who [were] in all Israel they took their stand at him from all territory their.
14 Sababii Yerobiʼaamii fi ilmaan isaa akka luboota Waaqayyootti isaan ilaaluu didaniif, Lewwonni lafa dheeda isaanii fi qabeenya isaanii dhiisanii gara Yihuudaa fi Yerusaalem dhufan.
For they forsook the Levites pasture lands their and property their and they went to Judah and to Jerusalem for he had rejected them Jeroboam and sons his from serving as priests to Yahweh.
15 Innis iddoowwan sagadaa kanneen gaarran irraatii fi fakkii waaqota tolfamoo bifa reʼee fi bifa jabbiitiin hojjete sanaaf luboota ofii isaa ni muuddate.
And he appointed for himself priests for the high places and for the goats and for the calves which he had made.
16 Warri gosoota Israaʼel hunda keessaa garaan isaanii Waaqayyo Waaqa Israaʼel bira jiru Waaqayyo Waaqa abbootii isaaniitiif aarsaa dhiʼeessuudhaaf Lewwota duukaa buʼanii Yerusaalem dhaqan.
And after them from all [the] tribes of Israel those [who] set heart their to seek Yahweh [the] God of Israel they came Jerusalem to sacrifice to Yahweh [the] God of ancestors their.
17 Isaanis mootummaa Yihuudaa jajjabeessaa waggaa sadii Rehooboʼaam ilma Solomoon ni gargaaran; isaan waggoota sadan kana keessa karaa Daawitii fi Solomoon duukaa buʼaa turaniitii.
And they strengthened [the] kingdom of Judah and they strengthened Rehoboam [the] son of Solomon for years three for they walked in [the] way of David and Solomon for years three.
18 Rehooboʼaamis Maahalaati intala Yeriimooti ilma Daawitii fi Abiihaayil fuudhe; Abiihaayil kun immoo intala Eliiyaab ilma Isseey.
And he took for himself Rehoboam a wife Mahalath ([the] daughter of *Q(K)*) Jerimoth [the] son of David Abihail [the] daughter of Eliab [the] son of Jesse.
19 Isheenis: Yeʼuushi, Shemaariyaa fi Zahaam deesseef.
And she bore to him sons Jeush and Shemariah and Zaham.
20 Ergasii immoo Maʼakaa intala Abesaaloom ni fuudhe; isheenis Abiyaa, Ataayi, Ziizaa fi Sheloomiit deesseef.
And after her he took Maacah [the] daughter of Absalom and she bore to him Abijah and Attai and Ziza and Shelomith.
21 Rehooboʼaamis niitotaa isaa kaanii fi saajjatoowwan isaa caalaa Maʼakaa intala Abesaaloom ni jaallate. Innis walumatti niitota kudha saddeet, saajjatoowwan jaatama, ilmaan digdamii saddeetii fi intallan jaatama qaba ture.
And he loved Rehoboam Maacah [the] daughter of Absalom more than all wives his and concubines his for wives eight-teen he had taken and concubines sixty and he fathered twenty and eight sons and sixty daughters.

And he appointed to the chief Rehoboam Abijah [the] son of Maacah to leader among brothers his for to make king him.
23 Innis ogummaan ilmaan isaa keessaa tokko tokko aanaalee Yihuudaa fi Beniyaam keessa, gara magaalaawwan jabeeffamanii ijaaraman hundaatti ni erge. Ilmaan isaaf nyaata isaan gaʼu kennee niitota baayʼee illee isaan ni fuusise.
And he acted wisely and he distributed some of all sons his to all [the] lands of Judah and Benjamin to all [the] cities of fortifications and he gave to them food to abundance and he sought a multitude of wives.
