3 Daawitis Yerusaalem keessatti niitota dabalee fuudhee ilmaanii fi intallan dabalataa dhalche.
David married more wives in Jerusalem, and had more sons and daughters.

8 Filisxeemonni yommuu akka Daawit dibamee guutummaa Israaʼel irratti mootii taʼe dhagaʼanitti humna guutuudhaan isa barbaacha ol baʼan; Daawit garuu waan kana dhagaʼee isaanitti baʼe.
When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all of Israel, they gathered their whole army to go after him. But David heard they were coming and went out to confront them.
9 Yeroo kanatti Filisxeemonni dhufanii Sulula Refaayim weeraran;
The Philistines arrived and raided the valley of Rephaim.
10 kanaafuu Daawit, “Ani baʼee Filisxeemota dhaʼuu? Ati dabarsitee harka kootti isaan kennitaa?” jedhee Waaqa ni gaafate. Waaqayyos, “Baʼi; ani dhugumaan Filisxeemota dabarsee harka keetti nan kennaatii” jedhee deebiseef.
David consulted God, asking “Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you make me victorious over them?” “Go ahead,” the Lord told him, “I will make you victorious over them.”
11 Kanaafuu Daawitii fi namoonni isaa gara Baʼaal Pheraaziim ol baʼan; achittis isaan moʼate. Innis, “Akkuma bishaan mana isaa cabsee yaaʼu sana Waaqni harka kootiin diinota koo cabsee baʼeera” jedhe. Kanaafuu iddoon sun Baʼaal Pheraaziim jedhamee waamame.
So David attacked and defeated them there at Baal-perazim. “God used me to defeat my enemies like a torrent of water that bursts out,” he declared. That's why the place was named Baal-perazim.
12 Filisxeemonni waaqota isaanii tolfamoo achitti ni dhiisan; Daawit immoo akka waaqonni sun ibiddaan gubaman ni ajaje.
The Philistines had left their gods behind, so David gave orders that they should be burned.
13 Filisxeemonni amma illee deebiʼanii sulula sana weeraran;
However, the Philistines returned and made another raid on the valley.
14 kanaafuu Daawit ammas Waaqa gaafate; Waaqnis akkana jedhee deebiseef; “Qajeelumatti itti ol hin baʼin; garuu isaan marsiitii muka qilxuu duratti isaan waraani.
David consulted God again. “Don't make a frontal attack,” God told him. “Instead go around behind them and attack them in front of the balsam trees.
15 Akkuma fiixee muka qilxuu irraan sagalee duulaa dhageesseen loluuf baʼi; Waaqni loltoota Filisxeem dhaʼuudhaaf si dura baʼeera jechuudhaatii.”
As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, go and attack for the Lord has gone before you to strike down the Philistine army.”
16 Kanaafuu Daawit akkuma Waaqni isa ajaje sana ni godhe; isaanis Gibeʼoonii jalqabanii hamma Geeziritti loltoota Filisxeem ni dhaʼan.
So David did what God told him, striking down the Philistine army all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.
17 Akkasiin maqaan Daawit biyya hunda keessatti beekame; Waaqayyos akka saboonni hundinuu isa sodaatan godhe.
As a result David's reputation was spread everywhere, and the Lord made all the nations afraid of David.
