ଯିରିମୀୟ 4
1 ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, “ହେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ, ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଫେରିବ, ତେବେ ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଫେରି ଆସିବ; ଆଉ, ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଘୃଣାଯୋଗ୍ୟ ବିଷୟସବୁ ଦୂର କରିବ, ତେବେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସ୍ଥାନାନ୍ତରୀକୃତ ହେବ ନାହିଁ;
“If you return, O Israel,” A declaration of YHWH, “Return to Me, And if you turn aside Your abominations from My face, Then you do not bemoan.
2 ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସତ୍ୟରେ, ନ୍ୟାୟରେ ଓ ଧାର୍ମିକତାରେ ଜୀବିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନାମରେ ଶପଥ କରିବ; ତହିଁରେ ନାନା ଦେଶୀୟମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଶୀର୍ବାଦର ପାତ୍ର କରିବେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କଠାରେ ଦର୍ପ କରିବେ।”
And you have sworn—YHWH lives, In truth, in judgment, and in righteousness, And nations have blessed themselves in Him, And they boast themselves in Him.”
3 କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯିହୁଦାର ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ପଡ଼ିଆ ଭୂମି ଚାଷ କର ଓ କଣ୍ଟାବଣ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବୀଜ ବୁଣ ନାହିଁ।
For thus said YHWH, To the man of Judah, and to Jerusalem: “Till for yourselves tillage, And do not sow to the thorns.
4 ହେ ଯିହୁଦାର ଲୋକେ ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ନିବାସୀଗଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ସୁନ୍ନତ କର ଓ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ହୃଦୟର ଅଗ୍ରଚର୍ମ କାଢ଼ି ପକାଅ; ନୋହିଲେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ କ୍ରିୟାର ଦୁଷ୍ଟତା ସକାଶୁ ଆମ୍ଭର କୋପ ଅଗ୍ନି ତୁଲ୍ୟ ବାହାରି ପ୍ରଜ୍ୱଳିତ ହେବ ଓ କେହି ତାହା ଲିଭାଇ ପାରିବ ନାହିଁ।”
Be circumcised to YHWH, And turn aside the foreskins of your heart, O man of Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, Lest My fury goes out as fire, and has burned, And there is none quenching, Because of the evil of your doings.”
5 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯିହୁଦାରେ ପ୍ରଚାର କର ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଘୋଷଣା କର; “ଆଉ କୁହ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦେଶରେ ତୂରୀ ବଜାଅ; ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱର କରି କୁହ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏକତ୍ର ହୁଅ, ଆସ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଦୃଢ଼ ନଗରମାନଙ୍କୁ ଯାଉ।’
Declare in Judah, and sound in Jerusalem, and say: “Blow a horn in the land, Call, Fill up together, And say, Assemble yourselves and let us go into the fortified cities.
6 ସିୟୋନ ଆଡ଼େ ଧ୍ୱଜା ଟେକ, ରକ୍ଷା ନିମନ୍ତେ ପଳାଅ, ବିଳମ୍ବ କର ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଉତ୍ତର ଦିଗରୁ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଓ ମହାବିନାଶ ଆଣିବା।
Lift up an ensign toward Zion, Strengthen yourselves, do not stand still, For I am bringing evil in from the north, And a great destruction.”
7 ସିଂହ ଆପଣା ଗହ୍ୱରରୁ ବାହାରିଅଛି, ନାନା ଦେଶୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ବିନାଶକ ଆସୁଅଛି; ତୁମ୍ଭ ନଗରସମୂହ ଯେପରି ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ, ନିବାସୀବିହୀନ ହେବ, ଏଥିପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦେଶକୁ ଉଜାଡ଼ କରିବାକୁ ସେ ବାଟରେ ଅଛି, ସେ ଆପଣା ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ବାହାରିଅଛି।
A lion has gone up from his thicket, And a destroyer of nations has journeyed, He has come forth from his place To make your land become a desolation, Your cities are laid waste, without inhabitant.
8 ଏଥିସକାଶୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଚଟ ପିନ୍ଧି ବିଳାପ ଓ ହାହାକାର କର; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ କ୍ରୋଧ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଫେରି ନାହିଁ।”
For this, gird on sackcloth, lament and howl, For the fierce anger of YHWH has not turned back from us.
9 ପୁଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, “ସେହି ଦିନ ରାଜାର ହୃଦୟ ଓ ଅଧିପତିଗଣର ହୃଦୟ କ୍ଷୟ ପାଇବ ଓ ଯାଜକଗଣ ଚମତ୍କୃତ ହେବେ ଓ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନେ ବିସ୍ମୟାପନ୍ନ ହେବେ।”
“And it has come to pass in that day,” A declaration of YHWH, “The heart of the king perishes, And the heart of the princes, And the priests have been astonished, And the prophets wonder.”
10 ଏଥିରେ ମୁଁ କହିଲି, “ହାୟ ହାୟ, ହେ ପ୍ରଭୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଶାନ୍ତି ହେବ ବୋଲି କହି ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଅତିଶୟ ଭ୍ରାନ୍ତ କରିଅଛ; ଯେହେତୁ ଖଡ୍ଗ ପ୍ରାଣକୁ ଆଘାତ କରୁଅଛି।”
And I say, “Aah! Lord YHWH, Surely you have entirely forgotten this people and Jerusalem, Saying, Peace is for you, And a sword has struck to the soul!”
11 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମକୁ କୁହାଯିବ, “ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରସ୍ଥ ବୃକ୍ଷଶୂନ୍ୟ ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ଥଳୀରୁ ଆମ୍ଭ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର କନ୍ୟା ଆଡ଼କୁ ଉଷ୍ମ ବାୟୁ ଆସୁଅଛି, ତାହା ଶସ୍ୟ ଝାଡ଼ିବା କି ପରିଷ୍କାର କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ନୁହେଁ;
At that time it is said of this people, And of Jerusalem: “A dry wind of high places in the wilderness, The way of the daughter of My people (Not for winnowing, nor for cleansing),
12 ସେହି ସବୁ ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ଘୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିବାୟୁ ଆମ୍ଭ ସପକ୍ଷରେ ଆସିବ; ଏବେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ହିଁ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଦଣ୍ଡାଜ୍ଞା ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିବା।”
A full wind from these comes for Me, Now also, I speak judgments with them.”
13 ଦେଖ, ସେ ମେଘମାଳା ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଆସୁଅଛି, ତାହାର ରଥସବୁ ଘୂର୍ଣ୍ଣିବାୟୁ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହେବ; ତାହାର ଅଶ୍ୱଗଣ ଉତ୍କ୍ରୋଶ ପକ୍ଷୀ ଅପେକ୍ଷା ଦ୍ରୁତଗାମୀ। ହାୟ ହାୟ! ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ବିନଷ୍ଟ ହେଲୁ।
“Behold, he comes up as clouds, And his chariots as a windstorm, His horses have been lighter than eagles, Woe to us, for we have been spoiled.”
14 ହେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ, ଉଦ୍ଧାର ପାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତାରୁ ଆପଣା ହୃଦୟ ଧୁଅ। ତୁମ୍ଭର ମନ୍ଦ କଳ୍ପନାସବୁ କେତେ କାଳ ତୁମ୍ଭ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବାସ କରିବ?
Wash evil from your heart, O Jerusalem, That you may be saved, Until when do you lodge in your heart Thoughts of your strength?
15 କାରଣ ଦାନ୍ ନଗରଠାରୁ ଏକ ରବ ପ୍ରଚାର କରେ ଓ ଇଫ୍ରୟିମ ପର୍ବତମାଳାରୁ ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଘୋଷଣା କରେ;
For a voice is declaring from Dan, And sounding sorrow from Mount Ephraim:
16 ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ନାନା ଦେଶୀୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଅ; ଦେଖ, ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଘୋଷଣା କର, “ଦୂର ଦେଶରୁ ଅବରୋଧକାରୀମାନେ ଆସୁଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ସେମାନେ ଯିହୁଦାର ନଗରସମୂହର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ହୁଙ୍କାର କରୁଅଛନ୍ତି।
“Make mention to the nations, Behold, sound to Jerusalem, Besiegers are coming from the far-off land, And they give forth their voice against cities of Judah.
17 ସେମାନେ କ୍ଷେତ୍ର ରକ୍ଷକମାନଙ୍କ ପରି ତାହାର ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ ଅଛନ୍ତି, କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ସେ ଆମ୍ଭର ବିଦ୍ରୋହାଚାରିଣୀ ହୋଇଅଛି।
As the keepers of a field They have been against her all around, For she has been rebellious with Me,” A declaration of YHWH.
18 ତୁମ୍ଭର ଆଚରଣ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭର କ୍ରିୟା ଏହିସବୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରତି ଘଟାଇଅଛି; ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭ ଦୁଷ୍ଟତାର ଫଳ, ହଁ, ତାହା ତିକ୍ତ, ହଁ, ତାହା ମର୍ମଭେଦକ।”
“Your way and your doings have done these to you, This [is] your distress, for [it is] bitter, For it has struck to your heart.”
19 ହାୟ, ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ! ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ! ମୁଁ ହୃଦୟରେ ବ୍ୟଥିତ ଅଛି; ମୋର ହୃଦୟ ମୋʼ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅସ୍ଥିର ହେଉଅଛି; ମୁଁ ନୀରବ ରହି ନ ପାରେ; କାରଣ ହେ ମୋହର ପ୍ରାଣ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତୂରୀ ଶବ୍ଦ ଓ ଯୁଦ୍ଧର ନାଦ ଶୁଣିଅଛ।
My bowels, my bowels! I am pained [in] the walls of my heart, My heart makes a noise for me, I am not silent, For I have heard the voice of a horn, O my soul—a shout of battle!
20 ବିନାଶ ଉପରେ ବିନାଶ ପ୍ରଚାରିତ ହେଉଅଛି; କାରଣ ସମୁଦାୟ ଦେଶ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହୋଇଅଛି; ଅକସ୍ମାତ୍ ମୋହର ତମ୍ବୁ, ଏକ ନିମିଷ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ମୋହର ଆବରଣସବୁ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେଲା।
Destruction on destruction is proclaimed, For all the land has been spoiled, My tents have suddenly been spoiled, In a moment—my curtains.
21 ମୁଁ କେତେ କାଳ ପତାକା ଦେଖିବି ଓ ତୂରୀର ଶବ୍ଦ ଶୁଣିବି?
Until when do I see an ensign? Do I hear the voice of a horn?
22 “କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭର ଲୋକମାନେ ଅଜ୍ଞାନ, ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭକୁ ଚିହ୍ନନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ; ସେମାନେ ନିର୍ବୋଧ ବାଳକ, ସେମାନଙ୍କର କିଛି ବିବେଚନା ନାହିଁ; ସେମାନେ କୁକର୍ମ କରିବାକୁ ନିପୁଣ, ମାତ୍ର ସୁକର୍ମ କରିବାକୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର କିଛି ଜ୍ଞାନ ନାହିଁ।”
“For My people [are] foolish, They have not known Me, They [are] foolish sons, Indeed, they [are] not intelligent, They [are] wise to do evil, And they have not known to do good.”
23 ମୁଁ ପୃଥିବୀକୁ ଅନାଇଲି, ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ତାହା ନିର୍ଜନ ଓ ଶୂନ୍ୟ ଥିଲା; ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳକୁ ଅନାଇଲି, ଆଉ ତହିଁରେ ଦୀପ୍ତି ନ ଥିଲା।
I looked [to] the earth, and behold—formless and void, And to the heavens, and they [had] no light.
24 ମୁଁ ପର୍ବତମାଳାକୁ ଅନାଇଲି, ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସେସବୁ କମ୍ପିଲେ ଓ ଉପପର୍ବତସବୁ ଏଣେତେଣେ ଦୋହଲିଲେ।
I have looked [to] the mountains, And behold, they are trembling. And all the hills moved themselves lightly.
25 ମୁଁ ଅନାଇଲି, ଆଉ ଦେଖ, କେହି ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ନ ଥିଲା ଓ ଆକାଶର ପକ୍ଷୀସବୁ ପଳାଇ ଯାଇଥିଲେ।
I have looked, and behold, man is not, And all birds of the heavens have fled.
26 ମୁଁ ଅନାଇଲି, ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ କ୍ରୋଧ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଉର୍ବରା କ୍ଷେତ୍ର, ମରୁଭୂମି ଓ ତହିଁର ନଗରସକଳ ଭଗ୍ନ ହୋଇଥିଲା।
I have looked, and behold, The fruitful place [is] a wilderness, And all its cities have been broken down, Because of YHWH, Because of the fierceness of His anger.
27 କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, “ସମୁଦାୟ ଦେଶ ଧ୍ୱଂସସ୍ଥାନ ହେବ; ତଥାପି ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ରୂପେ ନାଶ କରିବା ନାହିଁ।
For thus said YHWH: “All the land is a desolation, but I do not make a completion.
28 ଏଥିସକାଶୁ ପୃଥିବୀ ଶୋକ କରିବ ଓ ଉପରିସ୍ଥ ଆକାଶମଣ୍ଡଳ ଅନ୍ଧକାର ହେବ; କାରଣ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହା କହିଅଛୁ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହା ମନରେ ସ୍ଥିର କରିଅଛୁ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଦୁଃଖିତ ହୋଇ ନାହୁଁ, କିଅବା ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏଥିରୁ ଫେରିବୁ ନାହିଁ।”
For this the earth mourns, And the heavens above have been black, Because I have spoken—I have purposed, And I have not relented, Nor do I turn back from it.
29 ଅଶ୍ୱାରୋହୀ ଓ ଧନୁର୍ଦ୍ଧାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ରବ ସକାଶୁ ସମୁଦାୟ ନଗର ପଳାୟନ କରେ; ସେମାନେ ନିବିଡ଼ ବନକୁ ଯାଆନ୍ତି ଓ ଶୈଳ ଉପରେ ଚଢ଼ନ୍ତି; ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ନଗର ତ୍ୟକ୍ତ ହୋଇଅଛି ଓ ତହିଁ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଜଣେ ମନୁଷ୍ୟ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ବାସ କରେ ନାହିଁ।
From the voice of the horseman, And of him shooting with the bow, All the city is fleeing, They have come into thickets, And they have gone up on cliffs, All the city is forsaken, And there is no one dwelling in them.
30 ଆଉ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ଉଚ୍ଛିନ୍ନ ହେବ, ସେତେବେଳେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଅଣ କରିବ? ଯଦ୍ୟପି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ରକ୍ତବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ବସ୍ତ୍ର ପରିଧାନ କରୁଅଛ, ଯଦ୍ୟପି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସୁବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଅଳଙ୍କାରରେ ଆପଣାକୁ ଭୂଷିତା କରୁଅଛ, ଯଦ୍ୟପି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଅଞ୍ଜନ ଦ୍ୱାରା ଆପଣା ଚକ୍ଷୁ ପ୍ରସାରୁଅଛ, ତଥାପି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବ୍ୟର୍ଥରେ ଆପଣାକୁ ସୁନ୍ଦର କରୁଅଛ; ତୁମ୍ଭର ଜାରପୁରୁଷମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଘୃଣା କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପ୍ରାଣନାଶ କରିବାକୁ ଚେଷ୍ଟା କରନ୍ତି।
And you, O spoiled one, what do you do? For you put on scarlet, For you adorn yourself [with] ornaments of gold. For you tear your eyes with pain, In vain you make yourself beautiful, Unhealthy ones have kicked against you, They seek your life.
31 କାରଣ ପ୍ରସବକାରିଣୀ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ରବ ପରି, ପ୍ରଥମ ସନ୍ତାନ ପ୍ରସବକାରିଣୀ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀର ବେଦନା ପରି ସିୟୋନ କନ୍ୟାର ରବ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଶୁଣିଅଛୁ, ସେ ଦୀର୍ଘ ନିଶ୍ୱାସ ଛାଡ଼ି ଓ ଆପଣା ହାତ ପ୍ରସାରି କହୁଅଛି, “ହାୟ ହାୟ! ହତ୍ୟାକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ଆଗରେ ମୋʼ ପ୍ରାଣ ମୂର୍ଚ୍ଛିତ ହେଲା।”
For I have heard a voice as of a travailing woman, Distress, as of one bringing forth a firstborn, The voice of the daughter of Zion, She laments herself, She spreads out her hands, Woe to me now, my soul is weary of slayers!”
