ପ୍ରଥମ ଶାମୁୟେଲ 13
1 ଶାଉଲ ତିରିଶ ବର୍ଷ ବୟସରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କଲେ।
Saul [is] a son of [[thirty]] years in his reigning, and he has reigned over Israel [forty]-two years,
2 ପୁଣି, ଶାଉଲ ଆପଣା ପାଇଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ ତିନି ହଜାର ଲୋକ ମନୋନୀତ କଲେ; ଏମାନଙ୍କର ଦୁଇ ହଜାର ମିକ୍ମସ୍ରେ ଓ ବେଥେଲ୍ ପର୍ବତରେ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ରହିଲେ, ଆଉ ଏକ ହଜାର ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ ପ୍ରଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଗିବୀୟାରେ ଯୋନାଥନ ସଙ୍ଗରେ ରହିଲେ; ପୁଣି, ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକକୁ ସେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ତମ୍ବୁକୁ ବିଦାୟ କଲେ।
then Saul chooses for himself three thousand [men] out of Israel; and two thousand are with Saul in Michmash, and in the hill-country of Beth-El; and one thousand have been with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin; and he has sent each one of the remnant of the people to his tents.
3 ଆଉ ଯୋନାଥନ ଗେବାସ୍ଥିତ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରହରୀ-ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳକୁ ସଂହାର କରନ୍ତେ, ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ତାହା ଶୁଣିଲେ। ସେତେବେଳେ ଶାଉଲ ଦେଶର ସର୍ବତ୍ର ତୂରୀ ବଜାଇ କହିଲେ, “ଏବ୍ରୀୟ ଲୋକମାନେ ଶୁଣନ୍ତୁ।”
And Jonathan strikes the garrison of the Philistines which [is] in Geba, and the Philistines hear, and Saul has blown with a horn through all the land, saying, “Let the Hebrews hear.”
4 ତହୁଁ ଶାଉଲ ଯେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରହରୀ-ସୈନ୍ୟଦଳକୁ ସଂହାର କରିଅଛନ୍ତି ଓ ମଧ୍ୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଯେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଦୁର୍ଗନ୍ଧ ସ୍ୱରୂପ ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏହା ସମୁଦାୟ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଶୁଣିଲେ। ଏଣୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ଗିଲ୍ଗଲ୍ରେ ଏକତ୍ର ହେଲେ।
And all Israel have heard, saying, “Saul has struck the garrison of the Philistines,” and also, “Israel has been abhorred by the Philistines”; and the people are called after Saul to Gilgal.
5 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସହିତ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ତିରିଶ ସହସ୍ର ରଥ ଓ ଛଅ ସହସ୍ର ଅଶ୍ୱାରୋହୀ ଓ ସମୁଦ୍ରତୀରସ୍ଥ ବାଲୁକାର ନ୍ୟାୟ ଲୋକସମୂହ ଏକତ୍ର ହେଲେ; ସେମାନେ ଆସି ମିକ୍ମସ୍ରେ ବେଥ୍-ଆବନର ପୂର୍ବ ଦିଗରେ ଛାଉଣି ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ।
And the Philistines have been gathered to fight with Israel; thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and a people as the sand which [is] on the seashore for multitude; and they come up and encamp in Michmash, east of Beth-Aven.
6 ଏଣୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଲୋକମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିପଦଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଦେଖିଲେ; (କାରଣ ଲୋକମାନେ ବଡ଼ କଷ୍ଟ ଭୋଗ କଲେ), ଏହେତୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ଗୁମ୍ଫାରେ ଓ କଣ୍ଟାବଣରେ ଓ ଶୈଳରେ ଓ ଦୁର୍ଗମ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଓ ଗାତରେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଲୁଚାଇଲେ।
And the men of Israel have seen that they are distressed, that the people have been oppressed, and the people hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.
7 ଏହି ସମୟରେ ଏବ୍ରୀୟମାନଙ୍କର କେତେକ ଲୋକ ଯର୍ଦ୍ଦନ ପାର ହୋଇ ଗାଦ୍ ଓ ଗିଲୀୟଦ ଦେଶକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ଶାଉଲ ଏଯାଏ ଗିଲ୍ଗଲ୍ରେ ଥିଲେ, ଆଉ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକ ଥରଥର ହୋଇ ତାଙ୍କର ପଶ୍ଚାଦ୍ଗାମୀ ହେଲେ।
And Hebrews have passed over the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead; and Saul [is] yet in Gilgal, and all the people have trembled after him.
8 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲଙ୍କର ନିରୂପିତ ସମୟାନୁସାରେ ଶାଉଲ ସାତ ଦିନ ବିଳମ୍ବ କଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଗିଲ୍ଗଲ୍କୁ ଆସିଲେ ନାହିଁ; ଏହେତୁ ଲୋକମାନେ ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ହେବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
And he waits seven days, according to the appointment with Samuel, and Samuel has not come to Gilgal, and the people are scattered from off him.
9 ଏଥିରେ ଶାଉଲ କହିଲେ, “ଏଠାରେ ମୋʼ ନିକଟକୁ ସେହି ହୋମବଳି ଓ ସେହି ମଙ୍ଗଳାର୍ଥକ ବଳି ଆଣ।” ଆଉ ସେ ହୋମବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କଲେ।
And Saul says, “Bring the burnt-offering and the peace-offerings near to me”; and he causes the burnt-offering to ascend.
10 ପୁଣି, ସେ ହୋମବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କରିବାର ସମାପ୍ତ କରିବା ମାତ୍ରେ ଦେଖ, ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ; ତହିଁରେ ଶାଉଲ ତାଙ୍କୁ ମଙ୍ଗଳବାଦ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଭେଟିବାକୁ ଗଲେ।
And it comes to pass at his completing to cause the burnt-offering to ascend, that behold, Samuel has come, and Saul goes out to meet him, to bless him;
11 ଏଥିରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଅଣ କଲ?” ଶାଉଲ ଉତ୍ତର କଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଦେଖିଲି, ଯେ ଲୋକମାନେ ମୋʼ ନିକଟରୁ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ହେଉଅଛନ୍ତି, ପୁଣି, ନିରୂପିତ ଦିବସ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆସିଲ ନାହିଁ, ମଧ୍ୟ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ମିକ୍ମସ୍ରେ ଏକତ୍ର ହୋଇଅଛନ୍ତି;
and Samuel says, “What have you done?” And Saul says, “Because I saw that the people were scattered from off me, and you had not come at the appointment of the days, and the Philistines are gathered to Michmash,
12 ଏଥିପାଇଁ ମୁଁ କହିଲି, ‘ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ଏହିକ୍ଷଣି ମୋʼ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଗିଲ୍ଗଲ୍କୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇ ଆସିବେ, ମାତ୍ର ମୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଅନୁଗ୍ରହ ମାଗି ନାହିଁ।’ ଏନିମନ୍ତେ ମୁଁ ସାହସ ବାନ୍ଧି ହୋମବଳି ଉତ୍ସର୍ଗ କଲି।”
and I say, Now the Philistines come down to me to Gilgal, and I have not appeased the face of YHWH; and I force myself, and cause the burnt-offering to ascend.”
13 ତହିଁରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଶାଉଲଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ମୂର୍ଖର କର୍ମ କରିଅଛ; ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯେଉଁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଇଥିଲେ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପାଳନ କଲ ନାହିଁ; କରିଥିଲେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଉପରେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ରାଜତ୍ୱ ଏବେ ଅନନ୍ତକାଳସ୍ଥାୟୀ କରିଥାʼନ୍ତେ।
And Samuel says to Saul, “You have been foolish; you have not kept the command of your God YHWH, which He commanded you, for now YHWH had established your kingdom over Israel for all time;
14 ମାତ୍ର ଏବେ ତୁମ୍ଭର ରାଜତ୍ୱ ସ୍ଥିର ହେବ ନାହିଁ; ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ନିଜ ମନର ମତ ଏକ ଜଣ ଆପଣା ପାଇଁ ଅନ୍ୱେଷଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ତାହାକୁ ଅଗ୍ରଣୀ ନିରୂପଣ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ ଯାହା ଆଜ୍ଞା କରିଥିଲେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ପାଳନ କଲ ନାହିଁ।”
and now, your kingdom does not stand, YHWH has sought [for] a man for Himself according to His own heart, and YHWH charges him for leader over His people, for you have not kept that which YHWH commanded you.”
15 ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଶାମୁୟେଲ ଉଠି ଗିଲ୍ଗଲ୍ରୁ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ ପ୍ରଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଗିବୀୟାକୁ ଗଲେ। ସେତେବେଳେ ଶାଉଲ ଗଣନା କରି ଊଣାଧିକ ଛଅ ଶତ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ନିକଟରେ ଥିବାର ଦେଖିଲେ।
And Samuel rises, and goes up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin; and Saul inspects the people who are found with him, about six hundred men,
16 ପୁଣି, ଶାଉଲ ଓ ତାଙ୍କର ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋନାଥନ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ଥିବା ଲୋକମାନେ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ ପ୍ରଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଗେବାରେ ରହିଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ ମିକ୍ମସ୍ରେ ଛାଉଣି ସ୍ଥାପନ କଲେ।
and Saul, and his son Jonathan, and the people who are found with them, are abiding in Gibeah of Benjamin, and the Philistines have encamped in Michmash.
17 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ଛାଉଣିରୁ ତିନି ଦଳ ବିନାଶକ ଲୋକ ଆସିଲେ; ଏକ ଦଳ ଅଫ୍ରା ପଥରେ ଗମନ କରି ଶୂୟାଲ ପ୍ରଦେଶକୁ ଗଲେ;
And the destroyer goes out from the camp of the Philistines—three detachments: one detachment turns to the way of Ophrah, to the land of Shual,
18 ପୁଣି, ଅନ୍ୟ ଏକ ଦଳ ବେଥ୍-ହୋରଣ ପଥ ଆଡ଼େ ଫେରିଲେ; ଆଉ ଅନ୍ୟ ଏକ ଦଳ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ଆଡ଼େ ସିବୋୟିମ ଉପତ୍ୟକାର ଅଭିମୁଖସ୍ଥ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ପଥ ଦେଇ ଗମନ କଲେ।
and one detachment turns the way of Beth-Horon, and one detachment turns the way of the border which is looking on the Valley of the Zeboim, toward the wilderness.
19 ସେସମୟରେ ସମସ୍ତ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ଦେଶରେ କମାର ମିଳୁ ନ ଥିଲେ; କାରଣ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନେ କହିଲେ, “କେଜାଣି ଏବ୍ରୀୟମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଖଡ୍ଗ ବା ବର୍ଚ୍ଛା ନିର୍ମାଣ କରିବେ;”
And a craftsman is not found in all the land of Israel, for the Philistines said, “Lest the Hebrews make sword or spear”;
20 ଏଣୁ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଫାଳ ଓ ଛୁରୀ ଓ କୁହ୍ରାଡ଼ି ଓ କୋଡ଼ି ପଜାଇବା ପାଇଁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବାର ହେଲା;
and all Israel goes down to the Philistines, to each sharpen his plowshare, and his coulter, and his axe, and his mattock;
21 ତେଣୁ ସମସ୍ତଙ୍କର କୋଡ଼ି ଓ ଛୁରୀ ଓ ବିଦା ଓ କୁହ୍ରାଡ଼ି ଦନ୍ଥଡ଼ା ହୋଇଥାଏ; ମଧ୍ୟ ଅଙ୍କୁଶ ଧାର କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର (ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ଯିବାର ହେଲା)।
and there has been the file for mattocks, and for coulters, and for three-pronged rakes, and for the axes, and to set up the goads.
22 ଏଣୁ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ ସମୟରେ ଶାଉଲ ଓ ଯୋନାଥନର ସଙ୍ଗୀ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ କାହାରି ହସ୍ତରେ ଖଡ୍ଗ କି ବର୍ଚ୍ଛା ନ ଥିଲା; କେବଳ ଶାଉଲ ଓ ତାଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଯୋନାଥନର ହସ୍ତରେ ଥିଲା।
And it has been, in the day of battle, that there has not been found a sword and spear in the hand of any of the people who [are] with Saul and with Jonathan—but it is found with Saul and with his son Jonathan.
23 ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ପଲେଷ୍ଟୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରହରୀ-ଦଳ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ମିକ୍ମସ୍ ଘାଟିକୁ ଗଲେ।
And the station of the Philistines goes out to the passage of Michmash.
