Esekiel 36
1 Og du menneskesønn! Spå om Israels fjell og si: Hør Herrens ord, I Israels fjell!
Thou therefore. Son of man, Prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, —and thou shalt say, Ye mountains of Israel Hear ye the word of Yahweh.
2 Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Fordi fienden ropte: Ha, ha! over eder og sa: De evige hauger er blitt vår eiendom,
Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Because the enemy hath said concerning you Aha! Even the high places of age-past times, for a possession have become ours
3 derfor skal du spå og si: Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Fordi, ja fordi de ødelegger og higer efter å opsluke eder fra alle sider, så I kan bli de andre folks eiendom, og fordi I er kommet på tunger og leber og i ondt rykte blandt folk,
Therefore, prophesy, and thou shalt say, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh-Because even because they have desolated and panted for you on every side That ye should become a possession to the rest of the nations, And ye have come up into the talk of the tongue and the slander of the people
4 derfor, I Israels fjell, hør Herrens, Israels Guds ord! Så sier Herren, Israels Gud, til fjellene og haugene, til bekkene og dalene og til de øde grushauger og de forlatte byer, som er blitt til rov og til spott for de andre folk, som bor rundt omkring,
Therefore ye mountains of Israel, hear ye the word of My Lord Yahweh, — Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, To the mountains and to the hills, to the channels and to the valleys, and to the desolate waste places and to the cities that are forsaken, which have become a prey and a derision, to the rest of the nations which are on every side:
5 derfor sier Herren, Israels Gud, så: Sannelig, i min brennende nidkjærhet har jeg talt mot de andre folk og mot hele Edom, som har tilkjent sig mitt land til eiendom med hjertens glede og med inderlig forakt, for å drive ut dem som bor der, og utplyndre det;
Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Surely in the fire of my jealousy, have I spoken against the rest of the nations and against Edom all of it, — Who have given my land to themselves for a possession, In the rejoicing of all the heart In contempt of soul, To make of its produce a prey.
6 derfor skal du spå om Israels land og si til fjellene og haugene, til bekkene og dalene: Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Se, jeg har talt i min nidkjærhet og i min harme: Fordi I har båret folkenes hån,
Therefore prophesy, concerning the soil of Israel, —and say to the mountains and to the hills to the channels and to the valleys, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! In my jealousy and in mine indignation, have I spoken, Because the insult of the nations, ye have borne;
7 derfor sier Herren, Israels Gud, så: Jeg har løftet min hånd og svoret: Sannelig, de folk som bor rundt omkring eder, de skal selv lide hån.
Therefore Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, I myself have lifted my hand, - Surely the nations which are yours round about, they their own shame, shall bear:
8 Men I, Israels fjell, I skal utskyte eders grener og bære eders frukt for mitt folk Israel; for det skal snart komme.
But ye O mountains of Israel Your boughs, shall ye shoot forth, And your fruit, shall ye bear For my people Israel, For they have drawn near to enter.
9 For se, jeg kommer til eder, jeg vil vende mig til eder, og I skal bli dyrket og tilsådd.
For lo! I am towards you, Therefore will I turn towards you, And ye shall be tilled and sown;
10 Og jeg vil føre mange mennesker op på eder, hele Israels hus, og i byene skal det atter bo folk, og ruinene skal bygges op igjen.
And I will multiply, upon you—men, All the house of Israel All of it, Then shall the cities be inhabited, And the waste places, shall be built,
11 Jeg vil føre mennesker og fe i mengde op på eder, og de skal økes og være fruktbare; jeg vil la det bo folk på eder som i fordums tider og gjøre mere vel mot eder enn i eders første tid, og I skal kjenne at jeg er Herren.
And I will multiply upon you—man and beast, And they shall multiply and be fruitful, — And I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former estates. And will do you more good than at your beginnings, So shall ye know that am Yahweh;
12 Jeg vil la mennesker, mitt folk Israel, ferdes på eder, og de skal ta dig i eie, og du skal være deres arv, og du skal ikke mere bli ved å gjøre dem barnløse.
And I will bring upon you—men even my people Israel That they may possess thee, So shalt thou be theirs, as an inheritance, -And thou shalt no more again make them childless.
13 Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Fordi de sier til dig: Du er en menneskeeter, og du har gjort dine folk barnløse,
Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Because they are saying to you. A devourer of men, thou art, And one that didst make childless thy nations, hast thou been
14 derfor skal du ikke mere ete mennesker og ikke mere føre dine folk til fall, sier Herren, Israels Gud.
Therefore, men, shalt thou not devour any more, - And thy nations, shalt thou make childless no more, Declareth My Lord Yahweh;
15 Og jeg vil ikke mere la dig høre folkenes hån, og folkeslagenes spott skal du ikke mere bære, og dine egne folk skal du ikke mere føre til fall, sier Herren, Israels Gud.
And I will not suffer to be heard against thee any more, the insult of the nations, And the reproach of the peoples, shalt thou not bear any more, - And thy nations, shalt thou not cause to stumble any more, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
16 Og Herrens ord kom til mig, og det lød så:
And the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:
17 Menneskesønn! Israels hus bodde i sitt land, og de gjorde det urent ved sin ferd og sine gjerninger; som en kvinnes månedlige urenhet var deres ferd for mitt åsyn.
Son of man The house of Israel were dwelling upon their own soil, But they defiled it by their way, and by their doings. Like the defilement of her that is removed, became their way before me.
18 Da utøste jeg min harme over dem for det blods skyld som de hadde utøst over landet, og fordi de hadde gjort det urent med sine motbydelige avguder.
So I poured out mine indignation upon them, Because of the blood which they had shed upon the land, - Yea with their manufactured gods, had they defiled it.
19 Og jeg spredte dem blandt folkene, og de blev strødd omkring i landene; efter deres ferd og deres gjerninger dømte jeg dem.
So I dispersed them among the nations, And they were scattered throughout the lands, — According to their way and according to their doings, I judged them.
20 Og da de kom til de folk som de kom til, vanhelliget de mitt hellige navn, og det blev sagt om dem: Dette er Herrens folk, og allikevel måtte de dra ut av hans land!
But when they entered among the nations where they did enter, then profaned they my holy Name, —in that it was said of them The people of Yahweh, these! Yet from his land, have they come forth!
21 Da ynkedes jeg over mitt hellige navn, som Israels hus hadde vanhelliget blandt de folk som de var kommet til.
So then I had tender regard for my holy Name, - Which the house of Israel had profaned, among the nations, where they had entered.
22 Derfor skal du si til Israels hus: Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Ikke for eders skyld, Israels hus, gjør jeg det, men for mitt hellige navns skyld, som I har vanhelliget blandt de folk som I er kommet til.
Therefore say thou to the house of Israel Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Not for your sakes, am I working. O house of Israel, But for my holy Name which ye have profaned, among the nations where ye have entered;
23 Jeg vil hellige mitt store navn, som er blitt vanhelliget blandt folkene, det som I har vanhelliget blandt dem, og folkene skal kjenne at jeg er Herren, sier Herren, Israels Gud, når jeg åpenbarer min hellighet på eder for eders øine.
Therefore will I hallow my great Name, that hath been profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in their midst, -So shall the nations know that I am Yahweh Declareth My Lord, Yahweh, When I have hallowed myself in you, before their eyes.
24 Jeg vil hente eder fra folkene og samle eder fra alle landene, og jeg vil la eder komme til eders eget land.
Therefore will I take you from among the nations, And gather you out of all the lands, - And will bring you upon your own soil;
25 Og jeg vil sprenge rent vann på eder, og I skal bli rene; fra alle eders urenheter og fra alle eders motbydelige avguder vil jeg rense eder.
And I will throw upon you clean water and ye shall be clean, — From all your uncleannesses and from all your manufactured gods, will I cleanse you;
26 Jeg vil gi eder et nytt hjerte, og en ny ånd vil jeg gi inneni eder, og jeg vil ta bort stenhjertet av eders kjød og gi eder et kjødhjerte.
And I will give you a new heart, And a new spirit, will I put within you, -And I will take away the heart of stone out of your flesh, And will give you a heart of flesh;
27 Min Ånd vil jeg gi inneni eder, og jeg vil gjøre at I følger mine bud og holder mine lover og gjør efter dem.
And my spirit, will I put within you, And will cause That in my statutes, ye shall walk, And my regulations, ye shall observe, and do;
28 I skal bo i det land jeg gav eders fedre, og I skal være mitt folk, og jeg vil være eders Gud.
And ye shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers, - And ye shall become my people, And I will become your God;
29 Jeg vil fri eder fra alle eders urenheter, og jeg vil kalle på kornet og gjøre det foldrikt og ikke la hungersnød komme over eder.
And I will save you out of all your uncleannesses, —And will call for the corn and will increase it, And will not lay upon you famine; And I will save you out of all your uncleannesses, —And will call for the corn and will increase it, And will not lay upon you famine;
30 Jeg vil mangfoldiggjøre trærnes frukt og markens grøde, så I ikke mere for hungers skyld skal lide hån blandt hedningefolkene.
And I will multiply The fruit of the tree, and The increase of the field, — To the end that ye may not receive any more the reproach of famine among the nations.
31 Da skal I komme i hu eders onde ferd og eders gjerninger, som ikke var gode, og I skal vemmes ved eder selv for eders misgjerninger og eders vederstyggeligheter.
Then shall ye call to mind Your ways that were wicked, and Your doings that were not good, - And shall become loathsome in your own sight. For your iniquities and For your abominations.
32 Ikke for eders skyld gjør jeg det, sier Herren, Israels Gud, det skal I vite! Blues og skam eder over eders ferd, Israels hus!
Not for your sakes, am I working, Declareth My Lord Yahweh be it known to you, — Turn ye pale and then blush for your ways. O house of Israel.
33 Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Den dag jeg renser eder fra alle eders misgjerninger, vil jeg la det bo folk igjen i byene, og ruinene skal bygges op igjen,
Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, In the day when I cleanse you, from all your iniquities, Then will I cause the cities to be inhabited, And the waste places shall be built;
34 og det land som var lag øde, skal bli dyrket i stedet for at det var en ørken for hver manns øine som gikk forbi.
And the land that was made desolate shall be tilled, — Whereas it was a desolation, before the eyes of every passer-by;
35 Da skal de si: Dette land som var lagt øde, er blitt som Edens have, og de herjede og ødelagte og nedrevne byer er gjenreist og har fått murer.
And they shall say, This land that was made desolate hath become like the garden of Eden, - And the cities that were waste and deserted and thrown down, now fenced, are inhabited;
36 Og de folk som blir igjen rundt omkring eder, skal kjenne at jeg, Herren, har bygget op igjen det som var revet ned, og tilplantet det ødelagte land. Jeg, Herren, har sagt det, og jeg skal gjøre det.
So shall the nations that may be left remaining round about you know that, I Yahweh— Have built that which was thrown down, and Have planted that which was made desolate, — I Yahweh, have spoken and performed.
37 Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Også i dette vil jeg bønnhøre Israels hus, så jeg gjør det for dem: Jeg vil gjøre det så rikt på folk som en fårehjord;
Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Even yet—for this, will I be prevailed upon by the house of Israel to work for them, — I will multiply them-Like a flock—with men:
38 som en hellig hjord, som Jerusalems hjord på dets høitider, således skal de ødelagte byer bli fulle av menneskehjorder, og de skal kjenne at jeg er Herren.
Like a flock of holy offerings Like the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, So, shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men, - And they shall know that, I, am Yahweh.
