अय्यूब 22

1 तब एलीपज तेमानीले जवाफ दिए र यसो भने,

Then responded Eliphaz the Temanite, and said: —

2 “के मानिस परमेश्‍वरको लागि उपयोगी हुन सक्छ र? के बुद्धिमान् मानिस उहाँको लागि उपयोगी हुन सक्छ र?

Unto GOD, can a man act as friend? Surely a discreet man befriendeth himself!

3 तपाईं धर्मी हुनुहुन्छ भने, सर्वशक्तिमान्‌लाई के आनन्द मिल्छ र? तपाईंले आफ्ना मार्गहरू दोषरहित बनाउनुहुन्‍छ भने, त्यो उहाँको लाभ हो र?

Is it a pleasure to the Almighty, that thou shouldst be righteous? or any profit, that thou shouldst be blameless in thy ways?

4 तपाईंले उहाँको आदर गरेको हुनाले, उहाँले तपाईंलाई हप्काउनुहुन्छ अनि तपाईंलाई इन्साफमा लानुहुन्छ र?

Is it, for thy reverence, that he will accuse thee? will enter with thee into judgment?

5 के तपाईंको दुष्‍टता विशाल छैन र? के तपाईंको अधर्मको असीमित छैन र?

Is not, thy wickedness, great? and, without end, [are not] thine iniquities?

6 किनकि विनाकारण तपाईंले आफ्नो भाइबाट ऋणको जमानत माग्‍नुभएको छ, अनि तपाईंले दरिद्रहरूको सबै लुगा खोसेर तिनीहरूलाई नाङ्गो पार्नुभएको छ ।

Surely then hast been wont to put thy brother in pledge, for nothing, and, the garments of the ill-clad, hast thou stripped off:

7 थाकेका मानिसहरूलाई तपाईंले पानी पिउन दिनुभएको छैन । भोकाएका मानिसहरूले रोटी पाउन तपाईंले रोक्‍नुभएको छ ।

No water—to the weary, hast thou given to drink, and, from the hungry, thou hast withheld bread:

8 तपाईं, शक्तिशाली मानिससित जग्गाजमिन भए पनि, तपाईं, इज्‍जतदार मानिस त्‍यसमा बसोबास गर्नुभए पनि,

A man of might, to him, pertaineth the land, and, the favorite, dwelleth therein:

9 तपाईंले विधवाहरूलाई रित्तो हात पठाउनुभएको छ । अनाथहरूका पाखुरा भाँचिएका छन् ।

Widows, thou hast sent away empty, and, the arms of the fatherless, thou dost crush.

10 त्यसकारण पासोहरू तपाईंको चारैतिर छन्, र एक्‍कासि आउने डरले तपाईंलाई कष्‍ट दिन्छ ।

For this cause, round about thee, are snares, and a dread startleth thee suddenly;

11 अन्धकार हुन्‍छ जसले गर्दा तपाईंले देख्‍न सक्‍नुहुन्‍न । पानीको भलले तपाईंलाई डुबाउँछ ।

Or darkness—thou canst not see, and, a flood of waters, covereth thee.

12 के परमेश्‍वर स्‍वर्गको उच्‍चमा हुनुहुन्‍न र? आकाशका ताराहरूको उच्‍चता हेर्नुहोस्, ती कति उच्‍चमा छन्!

Is not, GOD, [in] the height of the heavens? Behold, then, the head of the stars, that they are high.

13 तपाईं भन्‍नुहुन्छ, 'परमेश्‍वरलाई के थाहा छ? के उहाँले निस्पट्ट अन्धकारमा न्याय गर्न सक्‍नहुन्छ र?

Wilt thou say then, What doth GOD know? Out through a thick cloud, can he judge?

14 उहाँले हामीलाई देख्‍न नसकून् भनेर बाक्ला बादलहरूले उहाँलाई घेरेका छन् । उहाँ आकाशको चक्रमा हिंड्‍नुहुन्छ ।'

Dark clouds, are a veil to him, and he cannot see, or, the vault of the heavens, doth he walk?

15 दुष्‍ट मानिसहरू हिंडेका पुरानै मार्गमा, तपाईं पनि हिंड्नुहुन्‍छ र—

The path of the ancient time, wilt thou mark, which the men of iniquity trod?

16 तिनीहरूको समय हुनुअगि नै तिनीहरूको जीवन लिइयो, तिनीहरूका जगहरू नदीले झैं बगाएर लगेको छ,

Who were snatched away before the time, and, a stream, washed away their foundation?

17 जसले परमेश्‍वरलाई यसो भने, 'हामीबाट जानुहोस्, ' जसले यसो भने, 'सर्वशक्तिमान्‌ले हामीलाई के गर्न सक्‍नुहुन्छ र?'

Who had been saying unto GOD, Depart from us! and—What can the Almighty do for himself?

18 तापनि उहाँले तिनीहरूका घरहरू असल कुराहरूले भर्नुभयो । दुष्‍ट मानिसहरूका योजनाहरू मबाटै धेरै टाढा छन् ।

Yet, he, had filled their houses with good! The counsel of the lawless, then, is far from me:

19 धर्मी मानिसहरूले तिनीहरूको सुदिन देख्छन्, र खुसी हुन्छन् । निर्दोष मानिसहरूले हाँसेर तिनीहरूको उपहास गर्छन् ।

The righteous shall see and rejoice, and, the innocent, shall laugh them to scorn:

20 तिनीहरू भन्छन्, 'निश्‍चय नै हाम्रो विरुद्धमा उठ्नेहरू त्‍यागिएका छन् । आगोले तिनीहरूको धन-सम्पत्ति भस्म पारेको छ ।'

If our assailants do not vanish, then, their abundance, a fire consumeth!

21 अब परमेश्‍वरसित सहमत हुनुहोस्, र मिलाप गर्नुहोस् । त्‍यसरी तपाईंकहाँ भलाइ आउनेछ ।

Shew thyself to be one with him—I pray thee—and prosper, thereby, shall there come on thee blessing.

22 म तपाईंलाई बिन्ती गर्छु, उहाँको निर्देशनको वचन ग्रहण गर्नुहोस् । उहाँका वचनहरू आफ्‍नो हृदयमा जम्‍मा गर्नुहोस् ।

Accept, I beseech thee, from his mouth—instruction, —and lay up his sayings in thy heart.

23 तपाईं सर्वशक्तिमान्‌कहाँ फर्कनुहुन्‍छ भने, अधार्मिकतालाई तपाईंले आफ्ना पालहरूबाट धेरै टाढा राख्‍नुहुन्‍छ भने, तपाईंको निर्माण हुनेछ ।

If thou return unto the Almighty and submit thyself, if thou far remove perversity from thy tent,

24 आफ्‍नो खजाना भुइँको धूलोमा, ओपीरको सुनलाई खोलाका ढुङ्गाहरूका बिचमा फाल्‍नुहोस्,

Then lay up, in the dust, precious ore, and, among the stones of the torrent-beds, fine gold:

25 अनि सर्वशक्तिमान्‌ तपाईंको खजाना, तपाईंको बहुमूल्य चाँदी बन्‍नुहुनेछ ।

So shall, the Almighty, become, thy precious ores, yea glittering silver unto thee!

26 किनकि त्‍यसपछि तपाईं सर्वशक्तिमान्‌मा रमाउनुहुनेछ । तपाईंले आफ्नो अनुहार परमेश्‍वरमा उचाल्‍नुहुनेछ ।

For, then, in the Almighty, shalt thou take exquisite delight, and shalt lift up—unto GOD—thy face;

27 तपाईंले आफ्‍नो प्रार्थना उहाँमा नै चढाउनुहुनेछ, अनि उहाँले तपाईंको बिन्‍ती सुन्‍नुहुनेछ । तपाईंले उहाँमा आफ्नो भाकल पुरा गर्नुहुनेछ ।

Thou shalt make entreaty unto him, and he will hear thee, and, thy vows, shalt thou pay;

28 तपाईंले कुनै पनि आदेश दिनुहुनेछ, र तपाईंको निम्‍ति त्‍यो कुरो पुरा हुनेछ । तपाईंका मार्गहरूमा ज्योति चम्कनेछ ।

And thou shalt decree a purpose, and it shall be fulfilled unto thee, and, upon thy ways, shall have shone a light;

29 परमेश्‍वरले घमण्डी मानिसलाई निम्‍न स्‍तरमा झर्नुहुन्छ, र निराश भएकाहरूलाई उहाँले बचाउनुहुन्छ ।

When men cast themselves down, then thou shalt say: Up! And, him that is of downcast eyes, shall he save;

30 जो निर्दोष छैन त्‍यो मानिसलाई पनि उहाँले छुटकारा दिनुहुन्छ । तपाईंका हातको शुद्धताले गर्दा तिनीहरूले छुटकारा पाउनेछन् ।”

He shall deliver the innocent, and thou shalt escape by the pureness of thy hands.
