यर्मिया 47
1 पलिश्तीहरूको विषयमा यर्मिया अगमवक्ताकहाँ आएको परमप्रभुको वचन यही हो । फारोले गाजालाई आक्रमण गर्नुअगि यो वचन तिनीकहाँ आयो ।
The word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the Philistines, before the time that Pharaoh smote Gazzah.
2 “परमप्रभु यसो भन्नुहुन्छः उत्तरमा पानीको बाढी उर्लंदैछ । तिनीहरू बाढीको भलझैं हुनेछन् । तिनीहरूले यस देश र यसमा भएका हरेक थोक, यसका सहरहरू र यसका बासिन्दाहरूलाई डुबाउनेछन् । त्यसैले हरेको मदतको लागि गुहार माग्नेछ, र देशका सबै बासिन्दाले विलाप गर्नेछन् ।
Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, waters are coming up out of the north, and they shall become an overflowing stream, and shall overflow the land, and what filleth it; the city, and those that dwell therein: and the men shall cry aloud, and every inhabitant of the land shall wail.
3 बलिया घोडाहरूको टापले फड्केको आवाजमा, तिनीहरूका रथका वेग र तिनीहरूका पाङ्ग्राका हल्लामा, बुबाहरूको आफ्नै कमजोरीको कारणले तिनीहरूले आफ्नै छोराछोरीलाई सहायता गर्नेछैनन् ।
Because of the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his stud-horses, because of the rushing sound of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels, fathers do not turn round to their children from their feebleness of hands;
4 किनकि सारा पलिश्तीहरूको सर्वनाश हुने दिन आउँदैछ । बाँचेकाहरूमध्ये टुरोस र सीदोनलाई मदत गर्न चाहनेहरू बहिष्कृत हुने छन् । किनभने परमप्रभुले कप्तोरको टापुमा बाँकी रहेका पलिश्तीहरूलाई सर्वनाश पार्दै हुनुहुन्छ ।
Because of the day that cometh to devastate all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Zidon every helper that remaineth; for the Lord devastateth the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphthor.
5 गाजाको तालु खुइलिनेछ । अश्कलोनको बेँसीमा बाँकी रहेका मानिसहरू मौन रहनेछन् । शोक गरेर कहिलेसम्म तिमीहरूले आ-आफ्नो शरीरलाई काट्नेछौ?
Baldness is come upon Gazzah; ruined is Ashkelon with the remnant of their valley: how long yet wilt thou cut thyself?
6 हाय परमप्रभुको तरवार! तँ मौन हुनलाई कति लामो समय लाग्नेछ? तेरो म्यानमा फर्केर जा । रोकी र मौन हो ।
Woe! thou sword of the Lord, how long yet wilt thou not be quiet? withdraw thyself into thy scabbard, take thee rest, and be still.
7 अशक्लोन र समुद्र किनारका देशहरूलाई आक्रमण गर्न परमप्रभुले नै यसलाई आज्ञा दिनुभएको छ भने, यसले कसरी विश्राम गर्न सक्छ र?
Yet how canst thou be quiet? When the Lord hath given it a charge, against Ashkelon, and against the sea-coast—thither hath he destined it.
