1 यी सबै कुराहरू र यी विश्‍वासयोग्य कामहरू भएपछि, अश्शूरका राजा सनहेरीब आए र यहूदामा पसे । किल्ला भएका सहरहरूलाई आक्रमण गर्नलाई तिनले छाउनी हाले, जसलाई तिनले आफ्नो निम्ति कब्‍जा गर्न इच्‍छा गरे ।

After these things and this truth, Sennacherib king of Asshur has come, indeed, he comes to Judah, and encamps against the cities of the bulwarks, and says to break into them himself.

2 सनहेरीब आएका थिए र यरूशलेमको विरुद्ध युद्ध गर्ने अठोट गरेका थिए भनी जब हिजकियालाई थाहा पाए,

And Hezekiah sees that Sennacherib has come, and his face [is] to the battle against Jerusalem,

3 तब तिनले सहरबाहिरका मूलहरूका पानी बन्द गरिदिन तिनले आफ्ना अगुवाहरू र आफ्ना शक्तिशाली मानिसहरूसित सल्लाह लिए । तिनीहरूले तिनलाई त्‍यसो गर्न सहयोग गरे ।

and he takes counsel with his heads and his mighty ones, to stop the waters of the fountains that [are] at the outside of the city—and they help him,

4 धेरै संख्यामा मानिसहरू एकसाथ भेला भए र देशको मध्यभाग भएर बग्‍ने सबै मूलहरू र खोलाहरू थुनिदिए । तिनीहरूले भने, “अश्शूरका राजाहरू यहाँ आएर किन प्रशस्त पानी पाउने?”

and many people are gathered, and they stop all the fountains and the brook that is rushing into the midst of the land, saying, “Why do the kings of Asshur come, and have found much water?”

5 हिजकियाले साहस गरे र भत्किएका सबै पर्खालको निर्माण गरे । तिनले धरहराहरू अग्‍लो बनाए, र बाहिरका अरू पर्खालहरू पनि त्यसै गरे । दाऊदको सहरका टेवा दिने गाराहरू पनि तिनले सुदृढ पारे, र तिनले ठुलो सङ्‍ख्‍यामा हातहतियार र ढालहरू बनाए ।

And he strengthens himself, and builds the whole of the wall that is broken, and causes [it] to ascend to the towers, and at the outside of the wall [builds] another, and strengthens Millo [in] the City of David, and makes darts in abundance, and shields.

6 तिनले मानिसहरूमाथि फौजी कमाण्‍डरहरू नियुक्त गरे । तिनले तिनीहरूलाई सहरको मूल ढोकाको खुल्ला ठाउँमा एकसाथ भेला गरे र तिनीहरूसँग हौसलासहित कुरा गरे । तिनले भने,

And he puts heads of war over the people, and gathers them to him, to the broad place of a gate of the city, and speaks to their heart, saying,

7 “बलिया र साहसिला होओ । अश्शूरका राजा र तिनीसँग भएको त्‍यो सबै ठुलो फौज को कारणले नडराओ वा हतोत्साही नहोओ, किनकि हामीसित हुनुहुने उनीहरूसित हुनेभन्‍दा महान् हुनुहुन्छ ।

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, nor be cast down from the face of the king of Asshur, and from the face of all the multitude that [is] with him, for with us [are] more than with him.

8 तिनीसित शारीरिक हतिहार मात्र छन्, तर हामीलाई सहायता गर्न र हाम्रो युद्ध गर्न हामीसित हाम्रा परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर हुनुहुन्छ ।” तब यहूदाका राजा हिजकियाको वचनले गर्दा यहूदाका मानिसहरूले आफैलाई सान्त्वना दिए ।

With him [is] an arm of flesh, but with us [is] our God YHWH to help us and to fight our battles”; and the people are supported by the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

9 त्यसपछि अश्शूरका राजा सनहेरीबले यरूशलेममा, (उनी लाकीश अगाडि थिए, र उनका सबै फौज उनीसित थियो) यहूदाका राजा हिजकिया र यरूशलेममा भएका यहूदाका सबै मानिसहरूकहाँ आफ्ना सेवकहरू पठाए । तिनले भने,

After this Sennacherib king of Asshur has sent his servants to Jerusalem—and he [is] by Lachish, and all his power with him—against Hezekiah king of Judah and against all Judah who [are] in Jerusalem, saying,

10 “अश्शूरका राजा सनहेरीब यसो भन्छन्: यरूशलेममा भएको घेराबन्दी सहनलाई तिमीहरू के कुरामा भर परिरहेका छौ?

“Thus said Sennacherib king of Asshur: On what are you trusting and abiding in the bulwark in Jerusalem?

11 जब ‘परमप्रभु हाम्रा परमेश्‍वरले अश्शूरका राजाको हातबाट बचाउनुहुनेछ’ भनी हिजकियाले तिमीहरूलाई भन्छन्, तब तिमीहरू बसेकै ठाउँमा तिमीहरूलाई अनिकाल वा तिर्खाले मार्नलाई तिनले तिमीहरूलाई भ्रममा पारिरहेका छैनन् र?

Is Hezekiah not persuading you to give you up to die by famine and by thirst, saying, Our God YHWH delivers us from the hand of the king of Asshur?

12 आफ्‍ना अल्गा ठाउँहरू र आफ्‍ना वेदीहरू हटाएका, अनि यहूदा र यरूशलेमलाई ‘एउटै मात्र वेदीमा तिमीहरूले आराधना गर्नुपर्छ र त्‍यसमा तिमीहरूले आफ्‍ना बलिदान चढाउनुपर्छ,’ भन्‍ने हिजकिया यिनै होइनन् र?

Has Hezekiah himself not turned aside His high places and His altars, and speaks to Judah and to Jerusalem, saying, You bow yourselves before one altar and you make incense on it?

13 म र मेरा पुर्खाहरूले अरू देशका सबै मानिसलाई के गरेका छौं सो तिमीहरूलाई थाहा छैन र? के वरिपरिका देशका मानिसहरूका देवताहरूले मेरो शक्तिबाट आफ्‍ना देशहरूलाई बचाउन सकेका थिए र?

Do you not know what I have done—I and my fathers—to all peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands at all able to deliver their land out of my hand?

14 मेरा पुर्खाहरूले पूर्ण रूपले नाश गरेका जातिहरूका देवतामध्ये के त्‍यहाँ कुनै देवता थियो जसले मेरो हातबाट आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई बचाउन सक्यो? तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई मेरो शक्तिबाट किन बचाउनुपर्छ र?

Who among all the gods of these nations whom my fathers have devoted to destruction [is] he who has been able to deliver his people out of my hand, that your God is able to deliver you out of my hand?

15 अब हिजकियाले यसो भनेर तिमीहरूलाई छलमा पार्न र तिमीहरूलाई मनाउन नदेओ । तिमीहरू तिनीमाथि विश्‍वास नगर, किनकि कुनै पनि जाति वा राज्यका देवताले आफ्ना मानिसलाई मेरो वा मेरा पुर्खाहरूका हातबाट बचाउन सकेको छैन । तिमीहरूका परमेश्‍वरले तिमीहरूलाई मेरो हातबाट कति थोरै बचाउने छन् र?”

And now, do not let Hezekiah lift you up, nor persuade you thus, nor give credence to him, for no god of any nation and kingdom is able to deliver his people from my hand and from the hand of my fathers: also, surely your God does not deliver you from my hand!”

16 सनहेरीबका सेवकहरूले परमप्रभु परमेश्‍वर र उहाँका सेवक हिजकियाका विरुद्धमा अझै धेरै बोले ।

And again his servants have spoken against YHWH God and against His servant Hezekiah,

17 परमप्रभु इस्राएलका परमेश्‍वरको गिल्ला गर्नको निम्ति समेत सनहेरीबले पत्रहरू पनि लेखे । तिनले भने: “जसरी अरू देशका जातिहरूका देवताहरूले आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई मेरो हातबाट बचाउन सकेका छैनन्, त्यसरी नै हिजकियाका परमेश्‍वरले पनि आफ्ना मानिसहरूलाई मेरो हातबाट बचाउन सक्‍ने छैनन् ।”

and he has written letters to give reproach to YHWH, God of Israel, and to speak against Him, saying, “As the gods of the nations of the lands that have not delivered their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah does not deliver His people from my hand.”

18 तब उनीहरूले सहर कब्जा गर्न सकुन् भनेर यरूशलेमको पर्खालमा खडा हुने मानिसहरूलाई, तिनीहरूलाई त्रासमा पार्न र तिनीहरूलाई कष्‍ट दिन उनीहरूले चर्को सोरले यहूदीहरूका भाषामा कराए ।

And they call with a great voice [in] Jewish against the people of Jerusalem who [are] on the wall, to frighten them and to trouble them, that they may capture the city,

19 केवल मानिसका हातले बनाएका पृथ्वीका अरू मानिसका देवताहरूका बारेमा उनीहरूले बोलेझैं यरूशलेमका परमेश्‍वरको बारेमा पनि उनीहरूले बोले ।

and they speak against the God of Jerusalem as against the gods of the peoples of the land—work of the hands of man.

20 यस विषयको कारणले हिजकिया राजा र आमोजका छोरा यशैया अगमवक्ताले प्रार्थना गरे र तिनले स्वर्गतिर पुकारा गरे ।

And Hezekiah the king prays, and Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, concerning this, and they cry to the heavens,

21 तब परमप्रभुले एउटा स्वर्गदूत पठाउनुभयो, जसले छाउनीमा भएका राजाका योद्धाहरू, कमाण्‍डरहरू र अधिकृतहरूलाई मारे । यसरी सनहेरीब आफ्‍नो मुहारमा बेइज्‍जती लिएर तिनको आफ्नो देशमा फर्के । जब उनी आफ्नो देवताको मन्दिरमा पसेका थिए, तब उनका आफ्‍नै छोरामध्येका कसैले उनलाई तरवारले काटेर मारे ।

and YHWH sends a messenger and cuts off every mighty man of valor—both leader and head—in the camp of the king of Asshur, and he turns back with shame of face to his land and enters the house of his god, and those coming out of his bowels have caused him to fall there by the sword.

22 यसरी परमप्रभुले हिजकिया र यरूशलेमका बासिन्दाहरूलाई अश्शूरका राजा सनहेरीबका हातबाट र अरू सबैका हातबाट बचाउनुभयो, र तिनीहरूलाई चारैतिरबाट आराम दिनुभयो ।

And YHWH saves Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Asshur and from the hand of all, and He leads them around;

23 धेरै जनाले यरूशलेममा परमप्रभुको निम्ति भेटीहरू र यहूदाका राजा हिजकियाको निम्ति बहुमूल्य उपहारहरू ल्याए, ताकि त्यो समयदेखि पछि सबै जातिका दृष्‍टिमा तिनी उच्‍च पारिए ।

and many are bringing in an offering to YHWH, to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah, and he is lifted up before the eyes of all the nations after this.

24 ती दिनमा हिजकिया मरणासन्‍न हुने गरी बिरामी भए । तिनले परमप्रभुमा प्रार्थना गरे, जो तिनीसित बोल्‍नुभयो र तिनी निको हुनेछन् भनेर एउटा चिन्ह तिनलाई दिनुभयो ।

In those days Hezekiah has been sick even to death, and he prays to YHWH, and He speaks to him and has appointed a wonder for him;

25 तर हिजकियालाई दिइएको मदतका निम्‍ति तिनी परमप्रभुप्रति कृतज्ञ भएनन्, किनकि तिनको हृदय अहङ्‍कारी भएको थियो । यसैले तिनीमाथि र यहूदा र यरूशलेममाथि क्रोध पर्‍यो ।

and Hezekiah has not returned according to the deed [done] to him, for his heart has been lofty, and there is wrath on him and on Judah and Jerusalem;

26 तापनि आफ्नो हृदयको अभिमानको निम्ति हिजकिया र यरूशलेमका बासिन्दा दुवैले पश्‍चात्ताप गरे, जसले गर्दा हिजकियाको समयमा परमप्रभुको क्रोध तिनीहरूमाथि परेन ।

and Hezekiah is humbled for the loftiness of his heart, he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the wrath of YHWH has not come on them in the days of Hezekiah.

27 हिजकियाले धेरै धनसम्पत्ति र धेरै मान पाएका थिए । तिनले आफ्ना निम्ति सुन, चाँदी, बहुमूल्य पत्थर र मसलाहरू, अनि ढालहरू र अरू दामी-दामी चीजहरू राख्ने भण्डारहरू बनाए ।

And Hezekiah has very much riches and honor, and he has made treasures for himself of silver, and of gold, and of precious stone, and of spices, and of shields, and of all [kinds] of desirable vessels,

28 तिनीसँग अन्‍न, नयाँ दाखमद्य र तेल जम्‍मा गर्ने भण्‍डारहरू, र सबै किसिमका जनावरका लागि गोठहरू थिए । र तिनीसित भेडाबाख्राहरूका गोठहरू पनि थिए ।

and storehouses for the increase of grain, and new wine, and oil, and stalls for all kinds of livestock, and herds for stalls;

29 यसको साथमा तिनीसँग सहरहरू र प्रसस्त बथान र बगालहरू पनि थिए, किनकि परमेश्‍वरले तिनलाई धेरै धनसम्पत्ति दिनुभएको थियो ।

and he has made cities for himself, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance, for God has given very much substance to him.

30 गीहोन नदीको माथिल्लो मुहानलाई थुन्‍ने र त्‍यसलाई दाऊदको सहरको पश्‍चिमपट्टि सिधा ल्याउने हिजकिया पनि यिनै थिए । आफ्‍ना सब परियोजनामा हिजकिया सफल भए ।

And Hezekiah himself has stopped the upper source of the waters of Gihon, and directs them beneath to the west of the City of David, and Hezekiah prospers in all his work;

31 तापनि देशमा देखिएको आश्‍चर्यका चिन्हको विषयमा जानकारहरूका बारेमा प्रश्‍नहरू सोध्‍नलाई बेबिलोनका शासकहरूले पठाएका राजदूतहरूका सम्‍बन्‍धमा तिनको जाँच गर्न र तिनको हृदयका सबै कुरा पत्ता लगाउन परमेश्‍वरले तिनलाई छोड्नुभयो ।

and so with the ambassadors of the heads of Babylon, those sending to him to inquire of the wonder that has been in the land, God has left him to try him, to know all in his heart.

32 हिजकियाको बारेमा अन्य कुराहरू, तिनका करारका बफादर कामहरूसमेतका कुरा, आमोजका छोरा यशैया अगमवक्ताको दर्शन र यहूदा र इस्राएलका राजाहरूको इतिहासको पुस्तकमा ती लेखिएका तपाईंले पाउनुहुन्‍छ ।

And the rest of the matters of Hezekiah and his kind acts, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah son of Amoz the prophet, on the scroll of the kings of Judah and Israel.

33 हिजकिया आफ्ना पुर्खाहरूसित सुते, र तिनीहरूले दाऊदका सन्तानहरूका चिहानहरू भएको डाँडामा तिनलाई गाडे । तिनको मृत्युमा सारा यहूदा र यरूशलेमका मानिसहरूले तिनलाई श्रद्धासुमन प्रकट गरे । तिनको ठाउँमा तिनका छोरा मनश्शे राजा भए ।

And Hezekiah lies with his fathers, and they bury him in the highest of the graves of the sons of David, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem have done honor to him at his death, and his son Manasseh reigns in his stead.
