သုတ္တံကျမ်း 20
1 ၁ စပျစ်ရည် သည် လှည့်စား တတ်၏။ သေရည် သေရက်သည် ရုန်းရင်းခတ် ပြုခြင်းအမှုကို ဖြစ်စေတတ် ၏။ ထိုသို့ သောအားဖြင့် မှားယွင်း သောသူသည် ပညာ မ ရှိ။
Wine is a scorner, strong drink is raging; and whoso erreth thereby is not wise.
2 ၂ ရှင်ဘုရင် ကြောက် စေသော အမှုအရာသည် ခြင်္သေ့ ဟောက် ခြင်းနှင့် တူ၏။ အမျက်တော်ကို နှိုးဆော် သောသူသည် မိမိ အသက် ကို ပြစ်မှား ၏။
The terror of a king is as the roaring of a lion: he that provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife; but every fool rusheth into it.
4 ၄ ချမ်း သောကြောင့် ပျင်းရိ သောသူသည် လယ် မ လုပ်လို။ ထိုကြောင့် စပါး ရိတ်သောကာလ ၌သူတပါးကို တောင်း သော်လည်း မ ရရာ။
The sluggard will not plough by reason of the winter; he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing.
Counsel in the heart of man is deep water, and a man of understanding draweth it out.
6 ၆ လူ များ တို့သည် မိမိ တို့ပြုသောကျေးဇူး ကို ကြား ပြောတတ်၏။ သစ္စာ ရှိ သောသူ ကိုကား ၊ အဘယ် သူရှာ၍ တွေ့ နိုင်သနည်း။
Most men will proclaim every one his own kindness; but a faithful man who shall find?
7 ၇ ဖြောင့်မတ် သောသူသည် မိမိ ဖြောင့်မတ် ခြင်း လမ်းသို့ လိုက် ၍၊ သူ ၏သား စဉ်မြေးဆက်တို့သည် မင်္ဂလာ ရှိကြ၏။
The righteous walketh in his integrity: blessed are his children after him!
8 ၈ တရား ပလ္လင်ပေါ် မှာထိုင် သော ရှင် ဘုရင်သည် မ ကောင်းသော အမှုအရာရှိသမျှ တို့ကို မျက်စိ တော်နှင့် ပယ်ရှင်း တတ်၏။
A king sitting on the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
Divers weights, divers measures, even both of them are abomination to Jehovah.
11 ၁၁ သူငယ် သော်လည်း ၊ မိမိ ပြုသောအမှု သည် စင် သည်မစင်သည်၊ မှန် သည်မမှန်သည်ကို မိမိ အခြင်း အရာအားဖြင့် ပြ ၍ ၊ မိမိသဘောကို ထင်ရှားစေ၏။
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Jehovah hath made even both of them.
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, [and] thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
Bad! bad! saith the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
15 ၁၅ ရွှေ ရှိ ၏။ ပတ္တမြား လည်း ရှိ ၏။ ပညာ အတတ်နှင့် ပြည့်စုံသော နှုတ် မူကား ၊ အလွန် အဘိုး ထိုက်သော ရတနာ ဖြစ်၏။
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies; but the lips of knowledge are a precious Jewel.
16 ၁၆ မ ကျွမ်းသောသူအတွက်၊ အမျိုး ပျက်သော မိန်းမအတွက် ၊ အာမခံ တတ်သောသူ သည် အဝတ် အစ ရှိသောဥစ္စာ တစုံတခုကို ပေါင် ထားစေ။
Take his garment that is become surety [for] another, and hold him in pledge for strangers.
17 ၁၇ လှည့်စား ၍ ရသောအစာ သည် ချိုမြိန် သော်လည်း ၊ စားသောသူ ၏နှုတ် သည် ကျောက်စရစ် နှင့် ပြည့် လိမ့်မည်။
Bread of falsehood is sweet to a man, but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18 ၁၈ အကြံရှိသောသူသည် သူတပါးနှင့်တိုင်ပင် လျှင်၊ အကြံ ထမြောက် တတ်၏။ ကောင်း သော တိုင်ပင်ခြင်း ရှိမှ သာ စစ်မှု ကို ပြု ရမည်။
Plans are established by counsel; and with good advice make war.
19 ၁၉ လည် ၍စကားများသောသူသည် လျှို့ဝှက် အပ် သောအရာကို ဘော်ပြ တတ်၏။ သို့ဖြစ်၍ ချော့မော့ တတ် သောသူနှင့် မ ပေါင်းဘော် နှင့်။
He that goeth about talebearing revealeth secrets; therefore meddle not with him that openeth his lips.
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in the blackest darkness.
An inheritance obtained hastily at the beginning will not be blessed in the end.
22 ၂၂ ငါသည်ရန်တုံ့ ပြုမည်ဟု မ ဆို နှင့်၊ ထာဝရဘုရား ကို ငံ့လင့် လော့။ သို့ပြုလျှင် ကယ်တင် တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။
Say not, I will recompense evil: wait on Jehovah, and he shall save thee.
23 ၂၃ အလေး ချင်းမတူသော အလေးတို့ကို ထာဝရဘုရား စက်ဆုပ် ရွံရှာတော်မူ၏။ စဉ်းလဲ သောချိန်ခွင် လည်း အပြစ် ရှိ၏။
Divers weights are an abomination unto Jehovah; and a false balance is not good.
24 ၂၄ လူ သွား ရာလမ်းတို့ကို ထာဝရဘုရား စီရင်တော်မူ ၏။ သို့ဖြစ်၍ ၊ သူ သည် မိမိ သွားရာလမ်း တို့ကို အဘယ် သို့ နားလည် နိုင်သနည်း။
The steps of a man are from Jehovah; and how can a man understand his own way?
25 ၂၅ ဘုရား အမှု၌စကားလွန်မိ သောသူ၊ သစ္စာ ဂတိထားပြီးမှ မေးမြန်း သောသူ သည် ကျော့ကွင်း နှင့် တွေ့မိပြီ။
It is a snare to a man rashly to say, It is hallowed, and after vows to make inquiry.
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
Man's spirit is the lamp of Jehovah, searching all the inner parts of the belly.
28 ၂၈ ကရုဏာ တရားနှင့် သစ္စာ တရားသည် ရှင် ဘုရင်ကို စောင့်မ တတ်၏။ ရာဇ ပလ္လင်တော်သည် ကရုဏာ တရားအားဖြင့် မြဲမြံ တတ်၏။
Mercy and truth preserve the king; and he upholdeth his throne by mercy.
The glory of young men is their strength; and the beauty of old men is the grey head.
30 ၃၀ အနာ ကိုမွှေနှောက် ခြင်းအားဖြင့်အဆိုး အညစ် နှင့် ကင်းစင် တတ်၏။ ဒဏ်ချက် ရာတို့သည်လည်း ၊ ကိုယ် အတွင်းအရပ်တို့၌ ထိုသို့သော ကျေးဇူးကို ပြုတတ်၏။
Wounding stripes purge away evil, and strokes [purge] the inner parts of the belly.
