ഹോശേയ 8

1 “കാഹളം നിന്റെ ചുണ്ടിൽ വെക്കുക! അവർ എന്റെ ഉടമ്പടി ലംഘിച്ച് എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തോടു മത്സരിച്ചതുമൂലം യഹോവയുടെ മന്ദിരത്തിനുമീതേ ശത്രു ഒരു കഴുകനെപ്പോലെ വരും.

Set the horn to thy mouth. As a vulture he cometh against the house of the LORD; because they have transgressed My covenant, and trespassed against My law.

2 ‘ഞങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമേ, ഞങ്ങൾ അങ്ങയെ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു!’ എന്ന് ഇസ്രായേൽ എന്നോടു നിലവിളിക്കുന്നു.

Will they cry unto Me: 'My God, we Israel know Thee'?

3 എന്നാൽ, ഇസ്രായേൽ നന്മ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ശത്രു അവനെ പിൻതുടരും.

Israel hath cast off that which is good; the enemy shall pursue him.

4 എന്റെ സമ്മതംകൂടാതെ അവർ രാജാക്കന്മാരെ വാഴിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ അംഗീകാരം ഇല്ലാതെ അവർ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെ തെരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നു. അവർ സ്വന്തം നാശത്തിനായി, തങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള വെള്ളിയും സ്വർണവുംകൊണ്ടു തങ്ങൾക്കുതന്നെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.

They have set up kings, but not from Me, they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.

5 ശമര്യയേ, നിങ്ങളുടെ പശുക്കിടാവിന്റെ വിഗ്രഹത്തെ പുറത്ത് എറിഞ്ഞുകളയുക! എന്റെ കോപം അവർക്കുനേരേ ജ്വലിക്കുന്നു. നിർമലരായിരിക്കുന്നത് അവർക്ക് എത്രത്തോളം അസാധ്യമായിരിക്കും?

Thy calf, O Samaria, is cast off; Mine anger is kindled against them; how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?

6 അത് ഇസ്രായേലിൽനിന്നുള്ളതുതന്നെ! ഒരു കൊത്തുപണിക്കാരൻ അതിനെ ഉണ്ടാക്കി; അതു ദൈവമല്ല. ശമര്യയിലെ പശുക്കിടാവ് കഷണങ്ങളായി തകർന്നുപോകും.

For from Israel is even this: the craftsman made it, and it is no God; yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in shivers.

7 “അവർ കാറ്റു വിതച്ചു, കൊടുങ്കാറ്റു കൊയ്യുന്നു. അവരുടെ തണ്ടിൽ കതിരില്ല; അതിൽനിന്ന് മാവു കിട്ടുകയുമില്ല. അതിൽ ധാന്യം വിളഞ്ഞെങ്കിൽക്കൂടെ അന്യദേശക്കാർ അതു വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളയും.

For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind; it hath no stalk, the bud that shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.

8 ഇസ്രായേലിനെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൾ ഇപ്പോൾ രാഷ്ട്രങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ ഇഷ്ടമില്ലാത്ത ഒരു പാത്രംപോലെ ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

Israel is swallowed up; now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no value.

9 തനിയേ അലഞ്ഞുതിരിയുന്ന ഒരു കാട്ടുകഴുതയെപ്പോലെ അവർ അശ്ശൂരിലേക്കു പോയി; എഫ്രയീം തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ കാമുകന്മാർക്കു വിറ്റിരിക്കുന്നു.

For they are gone up to Assyria, like a wild ass alone by himself; Ephraim hath hired lovers.

10 അവർ രാജ്യങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ തങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ വിറ്റാലും ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അവരെ ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂട്ടും; ശക്തനായ രാജാവിന്റെ പീഡനംനിമിത്തം അവർ മെലിഞ്ഞുണങ്ങാൻ തുടങ്ങും.

Yea, though they hire among the nations, now will I gather them up; and they begin to be minished by reason of the burden of king and princes.

11 “എഫ്രയീം പാപശുദ്ധീകരണയാഗങ്ങൾക്കുവേണ്ടി അനേകം യാഗപീഠങ്ങൾ പണിതു എങ്കിലും, അവയെല്ലാം പാപഹേതുവായിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

For Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, yea, altars have been unto him to sin.

12 ഞാൻ അവർക്കുവേണ്ടി, എന്റെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിലുള്ള അനേകം സംഗതികൾ എഴുതി, പക്ഷേ, അവർ അതിനെ വൈദേശികമായി ചിന്തിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

Though I write for him never so many things of My Law, they are accounted as a stranger's.

13 അവർ എനിക്കുള്ള ദാനമായി യാഗങ്ങൾ അർപ്പിക്കുകയും അതിന്റെ മാംസം ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു, എന്നാൽ യഹോവ അവരിൽ പ്രസാദിക്കുന്നില്ല. ഇപ്പോൾ യഹോവ അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത ഓർക്കും അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ ശിക്ഷിക്കും; അവർ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോകും.

As for the sacrifices that are made by fire unto Me, let them sacrifice flesh and eat it, for the LORD accepteth them not. Now will He remember their iniquity, and punish their sins; they shall return to Egypt.

14 ഇസ്രായേൽ തന്റെ സ്രഷ്ടാവിനെ മറന്ന് കൊട്ടാരങ്ങൾ പണിതിരിക്കുന്നു; യെഹൂദാ അനേകം നഗരങ്ങളെ കോട്ടകളാക്കി. എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ അവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിന്മേൽ അഗ്നി അയയ്ക്കും അത് അവരുടെ കോട്ടകളെ ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളയും.”

For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces, and Judah hath multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the castles thereof.
