< Joba 14 >
1 Ny olona tera-behivavy dia vitsy andro sady vontom-pahoriana.
“Man, born of woman! Of few days, and full of trouble!
2 Mitsimoka tahaka ny voninkazo izy ka jinjana, ary mihelina tahaka ny aloka izy ka tsy mitoetra.
As a flower he has gone forth, and is cut off, And he flees as a shadow and does not stand.
3 kanefa amin’ izay toy izany foana no ampihiratanao ny masonao? ka dia izay izaho avy no entinao hifandahatra aminao amin’ ny fitsarana!
Also—on this You have opened Your eyes, and bring me into judgment with You.
4 Aiza no misy madio ateraky ny tsy madio? Tsy misy na dia iray akory aza.
Who gives a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.
5 Raha voafetra ny androny, ary voatendrinao ny isan’ ny volana iainany, ary asianao fefy tsy azony ihoarana,
If his days are determined, The number of his months [are] with You, You have made his limit, And he does not pass over;
6 Dia mihodìna tsy hanatrika azy Hianao, mba hitsaharany, ka hifaliany amin’ ny androny toy ny mpikarama.
Look away from off him that he may cease, Until he enjoy as a hired worker his day.
7 Fa azo antenaina ny hazo, satria na dia kapaina aza izy, dia mbola hitsimoka indray, ka tsy maintsy hisy ny solofony;
For there is hope for a tree, if it is cut down, That it changes again, That its tender branch does not cease.
8 Na dia efa tonga antitra ao amin’ ny tany aza ny fakany, ary maty ao amin’ ny vovoka ny fotony,
If its root becomes old in the earth, And its stem dies in the dust,
9 Raha mahare ny fofon-drano izy, dia hitsimoka indray. Ka handrahaka tahaka ny hazo tanora nambolena.
From the fragrance of water it flourishes, And has made a crop as a plant.
10 Fa ny olona kosa maty ka miampatra; Eny, miala aina ny olona, ary aiza izy?
And a man dies, and becomes weak, And man expires, and where [is] he?
11 Ny rano miala eo amin’ ny kamory, ary ny ony mihena ka ritra,
Waters have gone away from a sea, And a river becomes waste and dry.
12 Ary toy izany koa ny olona; mandry izy ka tsy hitsangana intsony; Eny, mandra-paha-tsy hisian’ ny lanitra dia tsy hahatsiaro izy na hofohazina amin’ ny torimasony.
And man has lain down, and does not rise, Until the wearing out of the heavens they do not awaken, Nor are roused from their sleep.
13 Enga anie ka hanafina ahy any amin’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita Hianao Ka hampiery ahy mandra-pahafaky ny fahatezeranao! Ary hanendry fetr’ andro ho ahy, dia hahatsiaro ahy (Sheol )
O that You would conceal me in Sheol, Hide me until the turning of Your anger, Set a limit for me, and remember me. (Sheol )
14 Raha maty ny olona, moa ho velona indray va izy? Raha izany, dia hiandry mandritra ny andro fanafihako aho, mandra-pahatongan’ ny fahafahako.
If a man dies—does he revive? All [the] days of my warfare I wait, until my change comes.
15 Dia hiantso Hianao, ary izaho hamaly Anao; ary mba halahelo ny asan’ ny tananao Hianao.
You call, and I answer You; To the work of Your hands You have desire.
16 Fa ankehitriny manisa ny diako Hianao; Tsy mitsikilo ny fahotako va Hianao?
But now, You number my steps, You do not watch over my sin.
17 Efa voaisy tombo-kase ny kitapo misy ny fahadisoako; Ary voazaitranao ny heloko.
My transgression [is] sealed up in a bag, and You sew up my iniquity.
18 Kanefa na dia ny tendrombohitra aza, raha mianjera, dia mihalevona; Ary ny vatolampy dia afindra hiala amin’ ny fitoerany;
And yet, a falling mountain wastes away, and a rock is removed from its place.
19 Lanin’ ny rano ny vato; ary indaosin’ ny riaka ny vovo-tany: Toy izany no fanimbanao ny fanantenan’ ny zanak’ olombelona.
Waters have worn away stones, Their outpourings wash away the dust of earth, And You have destroyed the hope of man.
20 Mandresy azy ho mandrakizay Hianao, ka lasa izy; Manova ny tarehiny Hianao ka mampandeha azy.
You prevail [over] him forever, and he goes, He is changing his countenance, And You send him away.
21 Omem-boninahitra ny zanany nefa tsy fantany; Ary mietry ireo, nefa tsy hitany.
His sons are honored, and he does not know; And they are little, and he does not attend to them.
22 Ny mihatra amin’ ny tenany ihany no mampanaintaina azy, ary ny mihatra amin’ ny tenany ihany no mampalahelo ny fanahiny.
Only—his flesh is pained for him, And his soul mourns for him.”
