< Hebreo 11 >
1 Ary ny finoana no fahatokiana ny amin’ ny zavatra antenaina, fanehoana ny zavatra tsy hita.
Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not apparent.
2 Fa izany no nahatsara laza ny ntaolo.
For this reason, the ancients were given testimony.
3 Finoana no ahafantarantsika fa ny tenin’ Andriamanitra no nanaovana izao tontolo izao, ka dia tsy izay zavatra miseho no nanaovana izao zavatra hita izao. (aiōn )
By faith, we understand the world to be fashioned by the Word of God, so that the visible might be made by the invisible. (aiōn )
4 Finoana no nanateran’ i Abela ho an’ Andriamanitra fanatitra tsara noho ny an’ i Kaina, ka izany no nanambarana azy fa marina, satria Andriamanitra no nanambara ny amin’ ny fanatitra nataony: ary amin’ izany, na dia maty aza izy, dia mbola miteny ihany.
By faith, Abel offered to God a much better sacrifice than that of Cain, through which he obtained testimony that he was just, in that God offered testimony to his gifts. And through that sacrifice, he still speaks to us, though he is dead.
5 Finoana no namindrana an’ i Enoka tsy hiharan’ ny fahafatesana; ka dia tsy hita izy, satria nafindran’ Andriamanitra; fa talohan’ ny namindrana azy dia nambara fa nankasitrahan’ Andriamanitra izy.
By faith, Enoch was transferred, so that he would not see death, and he was not found because God had transferred him. For before he was transferred, he had testimony that he pleased God.
6 Fa raha tsy amin’ ny finoana, dia tsy misy azo atao hahazoana sitraka aminy; fa izay manatona an’ Andriamanitra dia tsy maintsy mino fa misy Izy sady Mpamaly soa izay mazoto mitady Azy.
But without faith, it is impossible to please God. For whoever approaches God must believe that he exists, and that he rewards those who seek him.
7 Finoana no nanamboaran’ i Noa sambo fiara hamonjena ny ankohonany, fa natahotra izy, rehefa notoroan’ Andriamanitra hevitra ny amin’ ny zavatra tsy mbola hita; koa izany no nanamelohany izao tontolo izao sy nahatongavany ho mpandova ny fahamarinana araka ny finoana.
By faith, Noah, having accepted an answer about those things which were not yet seen, being afraid, fashioned an ark for the salvation of his house. Through the ark, he condemned the world, and was established as the heir of the justice that occurs through faith.
8 Finoana no naneken’ i Abrahama, rehefa nantsoina, hiainga hankany amin’ izay tany ho azony ho lova; ka dia niainga izy, nefa tsy fantany izay halehany.
By faith, the one called Abraham obeyed, going out to the place that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.
9 Finoana no nivahiniany tany amin’ ny tany nolazain’ ny teny fikasana, toy ny any an-tanin’ olona, mitoetra an-day, mbamin’ isaka sy Jakoba, mpiara-mandova izany teny fikasana izany aminy;
By faith, he stayed in the Land of the Promise as if in a foreign land, dwelling in cottages, with Isaac and Jacob, co-heirs of the same promise.
10 fa nanantena hahazo ny tanàna misy fanorenana izy, Andriamanitra no Tompo-marika sy Mpanao izany.
For he was awaiting a city having firm foundations, whose designer and builder is God.
11 Ary na Saraha aza, dia finoana koa no nandraisany hery hanan’ anaka, rehefa nitsaha-jaza izy, satria nataony fa mahatoky Ilay efa nanome ny teny fikasana.
By faith also, Sarah herself, being barren, received the ability to conceive offspring, even though she was past that age in life. For she believed him to be faithful, who had promised.
12 Koa dia avy tamin’ ny anankiray, izay efa toy ny maty, no nihavian’ ny maro toy ny kintana eny amin’ ny lanitra sy toy ny fasika eny amoron-dranomasina, izay tsy hita isa.
Because of this, there were also born, from one who himself was as if dead, a multitude like the stars of heaven, who are, like the sand of the seashore, innumerable.
13 Ireo rehetra ireo dia maty tamin’ ny finoana, kanefa tsy mbola nahazo ny teny fikasana; fa nahatazana azy eny lavitra eny izy ka ravoravo niarahaba azy, dia nanaiky fa vahiny sy mpivahiny tetỳ ambonin’ ny tany izy.
All of these passed away, adhering to faith, not having received the promises, yet beholding them from afar and saluting them, and confessing themselves to be sojourners and guests upon the earth.
14 Fa izay milaza izany zavatra izany dia maneho marimarina fa mitady izay ho taniny izy.
For those who speak in this way are themselves indicating that they seek a homeland.
15 Ary raha tàhiny nahatsiaro ny tany nialany izy, dia ho nahita andro hiverenany.
And if, indeed, they had been mindful of the very place from which they departed, they certainly would have returned in time.
16 Fa amin’ izany ny tsara lavitra no iriny, dia ny any an-danitra; ary noho izany Andriamanitra dia tsy menatra hatao hoe Andriamaniny, satria efa nanamboatra tanàna ho an’ ireo Izy.
But now they hunger for a better place, that is, Heaven. For this reason, God is not ashamed to be called their God. For he has prepared a city for them.
17 Finoana no nanateran i Abrahama an’ isaka, raha nizahan-toetra izy; eny, ny zananilahy tokana no naterin’ ilay efa nandray tsara ny teny fikasana,
By faith, Abraham, when he was tested, offered Isaac, so that he who had received the promises was offering up his only son.
18 dia ilay nilazana hoe: “Avy amin’ Isaka no hantsoina izay taranaka ho anao”.
To him, it was said, “Through Isaac, shall your offspring be summoned,”
19 Fa nihevitra izy fa Andriamanitra dia mahay manangana ny maty aza; ary hoatra ny avy tamin’ izany no nandraisany azy.
indicating that God is even able to raise up from the dead. And thus, he also established him as a parable.
20 Finoana no nitsofan’ isaka rano an’ i Jakoba sy Esao ny amin’ ny zavatra ho avy.
By faith, also, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau, concerning future events.
21 Finoana no nitsofan’ i Jakoba rano ny zanak’ i Josefa roa lahy, rehefa ho faty izy, ka nivavaka izy, niankina tamin’ ny lohan’ ny tehiny.
By faith, Jacob, as he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph; and he reverenced the summit of his rod.
22 Finoana no nilazan’ i Josefa ny fialan’ ny Zanak’ isiraely, rehefa ho faty izy, sy nanafarany ny amin’ ny taolany.
By faith, Joseph, as he was dying, recalled the departure of the sons of Israel, and gave a commandment concerning his bones.
23 Finoana no nanafenan’ ny ray aman-drenin’ i Mosesy azy telo volana, raha vao teraka izy, satria hitany fa zaza tsara izy, ary tsy natahorany ny didin’ ny mpanjaka.
By faith, Moses, after being born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they had seen that he was a graceful infant, and they did not fear the king’s edict.
24 Finoana no nandavan’ i Mosesy tsy hatao hoe zanaky ny zanakavavin’ i Farao, rehefa lehibe izy, ―
By faith, Moses, after growing up, denied himself a place as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25 nifidy mantsy hiara-mitondra fahoriana amin’ ny olon’ Andriamanitra toy izay hanana fifaliana vetivety amin’ ny fahotana,
choosing to be afflicted with the people of God, rather than to have the pleasantness of sin for a time,
26 nanao ny fanaratsiana an’ i Kristy ho harena be lavitra noho ny zava-tsoan’ i Egypta, satria nijery ny famalian-tsoa izy.
valuing the reproach of Christ to be a greater wealth than the treasures of the Egyptians. For he looked forward to his reward.
27 Finoana no nandaovany an’ i Egypta, ka tsy natahorany ny fahatezeran’ ny mpanjaka; fa naharitra toy ny mahita Izay tsy hita izy.
By faith, he abandoned Egypt, not dreading the animosity of the king. For he pressed on, as if seeing him who is unseen.
28 Finoana no nitandremany ny Paska sy ny famafazana ny rà, fandrao hahatratra ny azy ilay nandringana ny lahimatoa.
By faith, he celebrated the Passover and the shedding of the blood, so that he who destroyed the firstborn might not touch them.
29 Finoana no nitana ny Ranomasina Mena toy ny mandia tany maina, izay mba nandraman’ ny Egyptiana, ka dia voatelina izy.
By faith, they crossed the Red Sea, as if on dry land, yet when the Egyptians attempted it, they were swallowed up.
30 Finoana no nampirodana ny màndan’ i Jeriko, rehefa nohodidinina hafitoana.
By faith, the walls of Jericho collapsed, after being encircled for seven days.
31 Finoana no tsy nahafaty an-dRahaba janga niaraka tamin’ ny tsy nino, satria nandray ny mpisafo-tany tamin’ ny fihavanana izy.
By faith, Rahab, the harlot, did not perish with the unbelievers, after receiving the spies with peace.
32 Ary inona koa no holazaiko? Fa ho lany ny andro, raha milaza an’ i Gideona sy Baraka sy Samsona ary Jefta aho, Davida koa sy Samoela ary ny mpaminany,
And what should I say next? For time is not sufficient for me to give an account of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the Prophets:
33 izay nandresy fanjakana tamin’ ny finoana, niasa fahamarinana; nahazo teny fikasana, nanakombona ny vavan’ ny liona,
those who, by faith, conquered kingdoms, accomplished justice, obtained promises, closed the mouths of lions,
34 namono ny fidedadedan’ afo, afaka tamin’ ny lelan-tsabatra, raha nalemy dia nampahatanjahina, tonga nahery tamin’ ny ady, dia nampandositra ny miaramilan’ ny firenena hafa.
extinguished the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, recovered from infirmities, showed strength in battle, turned back the armies of foreigners.
35 Ny vehivavy nandray ny azy efa maty, fa natsangana ho velona indray; ary ny sasany nampijalijalina ho faty, nefa tsy mety nanao izay hahafahany, mba hahazoany fitsanganana tsara lavitra;
Women received their dead by means of resurrection. But others suffered severe punishment, not yet receiving redemption, so that they would find a better resurrection.
36 ary ny sasany niaritra fanesoana sy kapoka mafy ary fatorana sy tranomaizina koa;
Truly, others were tested by mocking and lashes, and moreover by chains and imprisonment.
37 notoraham-bato izy, notsofana, nalaim-panahy, novonoina tamin’ ny sabatra, dia nirenireny nitafy hoditr’ ondry sy hoditr’ osy; efa lao, ory, fadiranovana
They were stoned; they were cut; they were tempted. With the slaughter of the sword, they were killed. They wandered about in sheepskin and in goatskin, in dire need, in anguish afflicted.
38 (nefa izao tontolo izao tsy miendrika ho nitoerany akory) dia nirenireny tany an-efitra sy tany an’ tendrombohitra sy tany an-johy ary tao an-dava-tany izy.
Of them, the world was not worthy, wandering in solitude on mountains, in the caves and caverns of the earth.
39 Ary ireo rehetra ireo, na dia efa nahazo laza tsara noho ny finoana aza, dia tsy mba nandray ny teny fikasana,
And all these, having been proven by the testimony of faith, did not receive the Promise.
40 fa Andriamanitra efa namboatra izay tsara lavitra ho antsika, mba tsy hatao tanteraka ireo raha tsy efa mby eo koa isika.
God’s Providence holds something better for us, so that not without us would they be perfected.
