< Yobu 5 >
1 “Koowoola kaakano, waliwo anaakuyitaba? Era ani ku batukuvu gw’onoolaajaanira?
Call, I pray thee! Is there any that answereth thee? and to which of the holy ones wilt thou turn?
2 Obukyayi butta atalina magezi, n’obuggya butta omusirusiru.
For vexation killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the simple.
3 Ndabye abasirusiru nga banywevu, naye mangu ddala ne nkolimira ekifo kye batuulamu.
I myself saw the foolish taking root, but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4 Abaana baabwe tebalina bukuumi, babetenterwa mu luggya nga tewali abawolereza.
His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, and there is no deliverer:
5 Omuyala alya amakungula gaabwe era atwala n’ag’omu maggwa era awankirawankira eby’obugagga byabwe.
Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh even out of the thorns; and the snare gapeth for his substance.
6 Kubanga okulaba ennaku tekuva mu nsi, wadde obuzibu okuva mu ttaka,
For evil cometh not forth from the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
7 wabula abantu bazaalibwa kulaba nnaku, ng’ensasi bwe zibuuka waggulu.
For man is born to trouble, as the sparks fly upwards.
8 Naye nze, nzija kunoonya Katonda era mmulekere ensonga zange.
But as for me I will seek unto God, and unto God commit my cause;
9 Akola ebikulu, ebitanoonyezeka, ebyewuunyisa ebitabalika.
Who doeth great things and unsearchable, marvellous things without number;
10 Atonnyesa enkuba ku nsi, n’aweereza amazzi mu byalo.
Who giveth rain on the face of the earth, and sendeth waters on the face of the fields;
11 Ayimusa abo abanyigirizibwa n’abo abakaaba ne basitulibwa mu mirembe.
Setting up on high those that are low; and mourners are exalted to prosperity.
12 Aziyiza enkwe z’ababi, emikono gyabwe gireme okutuukiriza bye bateesa.
He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, and their hands carry not out the enterprise.
13 Agwikiririza abagezigezi mu bukujjukujju bwabwe, n’enkwe zaabwe n’aziziyiriza ddala.
He taketh the wise in their own craftiness; and the counsel of the wily is carried headlong:
14 Ekizikiza kibabuutikira emisana, ne bawammanta mu ttuntu ng’ekiro.
They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope at midday as in the night.
15 Naye aggya abali mu bwetaavu mu mukono gw’abo ab’amaanyi, n’abawonya ekitala kyabwe.
And he saveth the needy from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
16 Abaavu ne balyoka baba n’essuubi, n’akamwa k’abatali benkanya ne kazibibwa.
So the poor hath what he hopeth for, and unrighteousness stoppeth her mouth.
17 “Alina omukisa omuntu Katonda gw’abuulirira; noolwekyo tonyooma kukangavvula kw’oyo Ayinzabyonna.
Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth; therefore despise not the chastening of the Almighty.
18 Kubanga ye y’afumita ate era y’anyiga, y’alumya era y’awonya.
For he maketh sore, and bindeth up; he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
19 Alikuwonya mu buzibu bwa ngeri mukaaga. Weewaawo ne mu ngeri musanvu tootuukibwengako kulumizibwa.
He will deliver thee in six troubles, and in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 Mu njala alikuwonya okufa, era anaakuwonyanga mu lutalo olw’ekitala.
In famine he will redeem thee from death, and in war from the power of the sword.
21 Onookuumibwanga eri olulimi olukambwe, era tootyenga okuzikirira bwe kunaabanga kujja gy’oli.
Thou shalt be hidden from the scourge of the tongue; and thou shalt not be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 Oliseka ng’okuzikirira n’enjala bizze, era tootyenga nsolo nkambwe ez’oku nsi.
At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh, and of the beasts of the earth thou shalt not be afraid.
23 Onoobanga n’enkolagana n’amayinja ag’omu nnimiro, era onoobanga n’emirembe awali ensolo enkambwe.
For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field, and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 Olimanya nti, ensiisira yo eri mirembe; era eby’obugagga byo olibibala n’olaba nga tewali kibuzeeko.
And thou shalt know that thy tent is in peace; and thou wilt survey thy fold, and miss nothing.
25 Olimanya ng’ezzadde lyo liriba ddene, ne bazzukulu bo baliba bangi ng’omuddo ogw’oku nsi.
And thou shalt know that thy seed is numerous, and thine offspring as the herb of the earth.
26 Olituusibwa ku ntaana yo nga wakaddiyira ddala, ng’eŋŋaano bwe tuukira mu kiseera kyayo.
Thou shalt come to the grave in a ripe age, as a shock of corn is brought in in its season.
27 “Ekyo twakyekenneenya, kituufu. Kimanye nga kikwata ku ggwe.”
Behold this, we have searched it out, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thyself.
