< Isaaya 28 >
1 Zikusanze engule ey’amalala g’abatamiivu aba Efulayimu, zikusanze ekimuli ekiwotoka eky’obulungi bw’ekitiibwa kye, ekiri ku mutwe gw’ekiwonvu ekigimu, Zikusanze ekibuga ky’abo abatamiivu.
Woe to the majestic crown of Ephraim’s drunkards, to the fading flower of his glorious splendor, set on the summit above the fertile valley, the pride of those overcome by wine.
2 Laba, Mukama wa maanyi mangi ddala, ng’embuyaga ey’omuzira n’embuyaga ezikiriza, ng’enkuba ey’amaanyi ereeta amataba, bwe ndisuula ekibuga ekyo n’amaanyi mangi.
Behold, the Lord has one who is strong and mighty. Like a hailstorm or destructive tempest, like a driving rain or flooding downpour, he will smash that crown to the ground.
3 Engule ey’amalala ey’abatamiivu ba Efulayimu aligibetenta n’ebigere bye.
The majestic crown of Ephraim’s drunkards will be trampled underfoot.
4 Ekimuli ekyo ekiwotoka eky’obulungi bw’ekitiibwa kye ekiri waggulu w’ekiwonvu ekigimu, kiriba ng’ettiini erisooka okwengera nga n’amakungula tegannatuuka, era omuntu bw’aliraba alinoga n’alirya.
The fading flower of his beautiful splendor, set on the summit above the fertile valley, will be like a ripe fig before the summer harvest: Whoever sees it will take it in his hand and swallow it.
5 Mu biro ebyo Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye aliba ngule ya kitiibwa, engule ennungi ey’abantu be abaasigalawo.
On that day the LORD of Hosts will be a crown of glory, a diadem of splendor to the remnant of His people,
6 Aliba n’omwoyo ogw’okusala ensonga mu bwenkanya oyo atuula n’asala emisango, Aliba nsibuko ya maanyi eri abo abawoza olutabaalo ku wankaaki.
a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, and a strength to those who repel the onslaught at the gate.
7 Ne bano nabo batagala olw’omwenge, era bawabye olw’ekitamiiza; Bakabona ne bannabbi batagala olw’ekitamiiza, era bawabye olw’omwenge; bawabye olw’ekitamiiza, batagala ne bava mu kwolesebwa, era tebasalawo nsonga.
These also stagger from wine and stumble from strong drink: Priests and prophets reel from strong drink and are befuddled by wine. They stumble because of strong drink, muddled in their visions and stumbling in their judgments.
8 Weewaawo emmeeza zonna ziriko ebisesemye, tewakyali kifo kiyonjo.
For all their tables are covered with vomit; there is not a place without filth.
9 “Ani gw’agezaako okuyigiriza? Ani gw’annyonnyola obubaka bwe? Abaana abaakalekayo okuyonka oba abo abaakaggibwa ku mabeere?
Whom is He trying to teach? To whom is He explaining His message? To infants just weaned from milk? To babies removed from the breast?
10 Kubanga kola okole, kola okole Ekiragiro ku kiragiro, ekiragiro ku kiragiro, Wano katono na wali katono.”
For they hear: “Order on order, order on order, line on line, line on line; a little here, a little there.”
11 Weewaawo, Katonda alyogera eri abantu abo n’emimwa emigenyi mu lulimi olugwira,
Indeed, with mocking lips and foreign tongues, He will speak to this people
12 abo be yagamba nti, Kino kye kifo eky’okuwummuliramu eri oyo akooye, era kye kifo eky’okuwerera naye ne bagaana okuwuliriza.
to whom He has said: “This is the place of rest, let the weary rest; this is the place of repose.” But they would not listen.
13 Noolwekyo ekigambo kya Mukama kyekiriva kibeera gye bali kola okole, kola okole, ekiragiro ku kiragiro, ekiragiro ku kiragiro, wano katono na wali katono, balyoke bagende bagwe kya bugazi, era balitegebwa, era ne batuukako ebisago ne bawambibwa.
Then the word of the LORD to them will become: “Order on order, order on order, line on line, line on line; a little here, a little there,” so that they will go stumbling backward and will be injured, ensnared, and captured.
14 Noolwekyo muwulire ekigambo kya Mukama Katonda mmwe abantu abanyoomi, mmwe abafuga abantu ababeera mu Yerusaalemi ne mubanyooma.
Therefore hear the word of the LORD, O scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem.
15 Weewaawo mwewaana nga bwe mugamba nti, “Twakola endagaano n’okufa, era twalagaana n’amagombe. Ekikangabwa eky’amaanyi ne bwe kijja, tekirina kye kiyinza kutukola, kubanga tufudde obulimba ekiddukiro kyaffe, era mu bukuusa mwe twekwese.” (Sheol )
For you said, “We have made a covenant with death; we have fashioned an agreement with Sheol. When the overwhelming scourge passes through it will not touch us, because we have made lies our refuge and falsehood our hiding place.” (Sheol )
16 Mukama Katonda Ayinzabyonna kyava agamba nti, “Laba, nteeka mu Sayuuni ejjinja, ejjinja eryagezesebwa, ery’oku nsonda, ery’omuwendo, okuba omusingi; oyo alyesiga taliterebuka.
So this is what the Lord GOD says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; the one who believes will never be shaken.
17 Ndifuula obwenkanya okuba omuguwa ogupima, n’obutuukirivu okuba omuguwa ogutereeza, era omuzira gulyera ekiddukiro ekyobulimba, n’amazzi galyanjaala ku kifo eky’okwekwekamu.
I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the level. Hail will sweep away your refuge of lies, and water will flood your hiding place.
18 N’endagaano gye walagaana n’okufa erijjulukuka, n’endagaano gye walagaana n’amagombe terinywera. Ekikangabwa eky’amaanyi bwe kirijja, kiribagwira. (Sheol )
Your covenant with death will be dissolved, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand. When the overwhelming scourge passes through, you will be trampled by it. (Sheol )
19 Weewaawo buli lwe kinaayitanga, kinaabagwiranga buli lukya emisana n’ekiro.” Era okutegeera obubaka buno kirireeta ntiisa njereere.
As often as it passes through, it will carry you away; it will sweep through morning after morning, by day and by night.” The understanding of this message will bring sheer terror.
20 Weewaawo ekitanda kimpi okwegololerako, ne bulangiti nnyimpi okwebikka.
Indeed, the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket too small to wrap around you.
21 Weewaawo Mukama aligolokoka nga bwe yagolokoka ku Lusozi Perazimu, era alisunguwala nga bwe yasunguwalira mu Kiwonvu eky’e Gibyoni, alyoke akole omulimu gwe, omulimu gwe ogwewuunyisa, atuukirize omulimu gwe, omulimu gwe ogwewuunyisa.
For the LORD will rise up as at Mount Perazim. He will rouse Himself as in the Valley of Gibeon, to do His work, His strange work, and to perform His task, His disturbing task.
22 Noolwekyo mulekeraawo okunyooma, enjegere zammwe zireme kweyongera kubazitoowerera. Nawulira okuva eri Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye ng’awa ekiragiro ekizikiriza ensi yonna.
So now, do not mock, or your shackles will become heavier. Indeed, I have heard from the Lord GOD of Hosts a decree of destruction against the whole land.
23 Muwulirize, era muwulire eddoboozi lyange; Musseeyo omwoyo, muwulire kye ŋŋamba.
Listen and hear my voice. Pay attention and hear what I say.
24 Omulimi bw’alima nga yeetegekera okusimba, alima lutata? Alima bw’ayimirira n’atema amavuunike mu ttaka?
Does the plowman plow for planting every day? Does he continuously loosen and harrow the soil?
25 Bw’amala okulyanjaala, tasigamu mpinnamuti, n’asaasaanya kumino? Tasiga ŋŋaano mu kifo kyayo, ne sayiri mu kibanja kyayo, n’omukyere mu nnimiro yaagwo?
When he has leveled its surface, does he not sow caraway and scatter cumin? He plants wheat in rows and barley in plots, and rye within its border.
26 Katonda we amuwa ebiragiro, n’amuyigiriza ekkubo etuufu.
For his God instructs and teaches him properly.
27 Empinnamuti teziwuulibwa na luso, newaakubadde okunyiga kumino ne nnamuziga w’eggaali. Empinnamuti zikubibwa na muggo ne kumino n’ekubibwa n’oluga.
Surely caraway is not threshed with a sledge, and the wheel of a cart is not rolled over the cumin. But caraway is beaten out with a stick, and cumin with a rod.
28 Empeke eteekwa okuseebwa okuvaamu omugaati, So n’omuntu tagiwuula butamala. Newaakubadde ng’agitambulizaako nnamuziga w’eggaali lye eriwuula, Embalaasi ze si zeezigisa.
Grain for bread must be ground, but it is not endlessly threshed. Though the wheels of the cart roll over it, the horses do not crush it.
29 Bino byonna nabyo biva eri Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye, ow’ekitalo mu kuteesa ebigambo, asinga amagezi.
This also comes from the LORD of Hosts, who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.
