मत्ती 23
1 तब यीशु न भीड़ सी अऊर अपनो चेलावों सी कह्यो,
Then Jesus speaking to the crowds and to his disciples, said:
2 “धर्मशास्त्री अऊर फरीसी मूसा की गद्दी पर बैठ्यो हंय;
“The teachers of the Law and the Pharisees now occupy the chair of Moses.
3 येकोलायी हि तुम सी जो कुछ कहेंन ऊ करजो अऊर मानजो, पर उन्को जसो काम मत करजो; कहालीकि हि कह्य त हंय पर करय नहाय।
Therefore practice and lay to heart everything that they tell preach but do not practice.
4 हि भारी बोझ ख जिन्ख उठानो कठिन हय, बान्ध क आदमियों पर लाद देवय हंय; पर खुद ओख अपनी बोट सी भी सरकानो नहीं चाहवय।
While they make up heavy loads and pile them on other men’s shoulder’s they decline, themselves, to lift a finger to move them.
5 हि अपनो पूरो काम लोगों ख दिखान लायी करय हंय: हि अपनो ताबीजो ख चौड़ी करय अऊर अपनो कपड़ा की झालर बढ़ावय हंय।
All their actions are done to attract attention. They widen their phylacteries, and increase the size of their tassels,
6 जेवन म सम्मानित जागा, अऊर सभा म मुख्य-मुख्य आसन,
and like to have the place of honour at dinner, and the best seats in the Synagogues,
7 बजारों म आदर सत्कार पानो, अऊर आदमी म गुरु कहलानो उन्ख भावय हय।
and to be greeted in the markets with respect, and to be called ‘Rabbi’ for everybody.
8 पर तुम गुरु नहीं कहलावों, कहालीकि तुम्हरो एकच गुरु हय, अऊर तुम सब भाऊवों हो।
But do not allow yourselves to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one Teacher, and you yourselves are all Brothers.
9 धरती पर कोयी ख अपनो स्वर्गीय पिता नहीं कहजो, कहालीकि तुम्हरो एकच स्वर्गीय पिता हय, जो स्वर्ग म हय।
And do not call any one on the earth your ‘Father,’ for your have only one Father, the heavenly Father.
10 अऊर स्वामी भी नहीं कहलावों, कहालीकि तुम्हरो एकच स्वामी हय, यानेकि मसीह।
Nor must you allow yourselves to be called ‘Leaders,’ for you have only one Leader, the Christ.
11 जो तुम म बड़ो हय, ऊ तुम्हरो सेवक बने।
The man who would be the greatest among you must be your servant.
12 जो कोयी अपनो आप ख बड़ो बनायेंन, ऊ छोटो करयो जायेंन: अऊर जो कोयी अपनो आप ख नम्र बनायेंन, ऊ बड़ो करयो जायेंन।
Whoever shall exalt himself will be humbled, and whoever shall humble himself will be exalted.
13 “हे कपटी धर्मशास्त्रियों अऊर फरीसियों, तुम पर हाय! तुम आदमियों लायी स्वर्ग को राज्य को दरवाजा बन्द करय हय, नहीं त खुदच ओको म सिरय हय अऊर नहीं ओको म सिरन वालो ख सिरन देवय हय।
But alas for you, Teachers of the Law and Pharisees, hypocrites that you are! You turn the key of the Kingdom of Heaven in men’s faces. For you do not go in yourselves, nor yet allow those who try to go in to do so.
14 हे कपटी धर्मशास्त्रियों अऊर फरीसियों, तुम पर हाय! तुम विधवावों को घरो ख बर्बाद कर देवय हय, अऊर दिखावन लायी बहुत देर तक प्रार्थना करय हय: येकोलायी तुम्ख बहुत सजा मिलेंन।
Alas for you, Teachers of the Law and Pharisees, hypocrites that you are! You destroy widow’s houses, even while pretending to make long prayers; therefore you shall receive greater condemnation.
15 “हे कपटी धर्मशास्त्रियों अऊर फरीसियों, तुम पर हाय! तुम एक आदमी ख अपनो मत म लान लायी पूरो जल अऊर थल म फिरय हय, अऊर जब ऊ मत म आय जावय हय त ओख अपनो सी दोय गुना खराब बनाय देवय हय। (Geenna g1067)
Alas for you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, hypocrites that you are! You scour land and sea to make a single convert, and, when he is gained, you make him twice as deserving of the Pit as you are yourselves. (Geenna g1067)
16 “हे अन्धो अगुवों, तुम पर हाय! जो कह्य हय कि यदि कोयी मन्दिर की कसम खाये त कुछ नहीं, पर यदि कोयी मन्दिर को सोनो की कसम खायेंन त ओको सी बन्ध जायेंन।
Alas for you, you blind guides! You say ‘if any answer by the Temple, his oath counts for nothing; but, if any one swears by the gold of the Temple, his oath is binding him’!
17 हे मूर्खो अऊर अन्धो, कौन बड़ो हय; सोनो यां ऊ मन्दिर जेकोसी सोनो पवित्र होवय हय?
Fools that you are and blind! Which is the more important? The gold? Or the Temple which has given sacredness to the gold?
18 फिर कह्य हय कि यदि कोयी वेदी की कसम खाये त कुछ नहीं, पर जो भेंट ओको पर हय, यदि कोयी ओकी कसम खाये त बन्ध जायेंन।
You say, too, ‘If any one swears by the altar, his oath counts for nothing, but, if any one swears by the offering placed on it, his oath is binding on him’!
19 हे अन्धो, कौन बड़ो हय; भेंट यां वेदी जेकोसी भेंट पवित्र होवय हय?
Blind indeed! Which is the more important? The offering? or the altar which gives sacredness to the offering?
20 येकोलायी जो वेदी की कसम खावय हय, ऊ ओकी अऊर जो कुछ ओको पर रखी हय, ओकी भी कसम खावय हय।
Therefore a man, swearing by the altar, swears by it and by all that is on it,
21 जो मन्दिर की कसम खावय हय, ऊ मन्दिर अऊर ओको म रहन वालो परमेश्वर की भी कसम खावय हय।
and a man, swearing by the Temple, swears by it and by him who dwells in it,
22 जो स्वर्ग की कसम खावय हय, ऊ परमेश्वर को सिंहासन को अऊर ओको पर बैठन वालो की भी कसम खावय हय।
while a man, swearing by Heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by him who sits upon it.
23 “हे कपटी धर्मशास्त्रियों अऊर फरीसियों, तुम पर हाय! तुम पदीना, अऊर सौंफ, अऊर जीरा को दसवा अंश त देवय हय, पर तुम न व्यवस्था की गम्भीर बातों ख यानेकि न्याय, अऊर दया, अऊर विश्वास ख छोड़ दियो हय; पर असो होनो होतो कि इन्क भी करत रहतो अऊर उन्ख भी नहीं छोड़तो।
Alas for you, Teachers of the Law and Pharisees, hypocrites that you are! You pay tithes on mint, fennel, and caraway seed, and have neglected the weightier matters of the Law — justice, mercy, and good faith. These last you ought to have put into practice, without neglecting the first.
24 हे अन्धो अगुवों, तुम मच्छर ख त छान डालय हय, पर ऊंट ख गिटक लेवय हय।
You blind guides, to strain out a gnat and to swallow a camel!
25 “हे कपटी धर्मशास्त्रियों अऊर फरीसियों, तुम पर हाय! तुम कटोरा अऊर थारी ख बाहेर सी त मांजय हय पर हि अन्दर सी लालच अऊर खुद को भलो को बारे म सोचय हंय।
Alas for you, Teachers of the Law and Pharisees, hypocrites that you are! You clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside they are filled with the results of greed and self-indulgence.
26 हे अन्धो फरीसी, पहिले कटोरा अऊर थारी ख अन्दर सी मांज कि ऊ बाहेर सी भी साफ होय जाये।
You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the dish, so that the outside may become clean as well.
27 “हे कपटी धर्मशास्त्रियों अऊर फरीसियों, तुम पर हाय! तुम चूना सी पोती हुयी कब्र को जसो हय जो बाहेर सी त सुन्दर दिखायी देवय हंय, पर अन्दर मुर्दों की हड्डियों अऊर सब तरह की गंदगी सी भरी हंय।
Alas for you, Teachers of the Law and Pharisees, hypocrites that you are! You are like whitewashed tombs, which indeed look fair outside, while inside they are filled with dead men’s bones and all kinds of filth.
28 योच रीति सी तुम भी बाहेर सी आदमियों ख त अच्छो दिखायी देवय हय, पर अन्दर सी कपट अऊर बुरायी सी भरयो हुयो हय।
It is the same with you. Outwardly, and to others, you have the look of religious men, but inwardly you are full of hypocrisy and sin.
29 “हे कपटी धर्मशास्त्रियों अऊर फरीसियों, तुम पर हाय! तुम भविष्यवक्तावों की कब्र बनावय अऊर न्यायियों की स्मारक सजावय हय,
Alas for you, Teachers of the Law and Pharisees, hypocrites that you are! You build the tombs of the Prophets, and decorate the monuments of religious men,
30 अऊर कह्य हय, ‘यदि हम अपनो बापदादों को दिनो म होतो त भविष्यवक्तावों की हत्या म सहभागी नहीं होतो।’
and say ‘Had we been living in the days of our ancestors, we should have taken part in their murder of the Prophets!
31 येको सी त तुम अपनो खुद पर हि गवाही देवय हय कि तुम भविष्यवक्तावों को हत्यारों की सन्तान आय।
By doing this you are furnishing evidence against yourselves that you are true children of the men who murdered the Prophets.
32 येकोलायी तुम अपनो बापदादों को पाप को घड़ा पूरो तरह सी भर देवो।
Fill up the measure of your ancestor’s guilt.
You serpents and brood of vipers! How can you escape being sentenced to the Pit? (Geenna g1067)
34 येकोलायी देखो, मय तुम्हरो जवर भविष्यवक्तावों अऊर बुद्धिमानों अऊर शिक्षकों ख भेजू हय; अऊर तुम उन्म सी कुछ ख मार डालेंन अऊर क्रूस पर चढ़ायेंन, अऊर कुछ ख अपनो आराधनालयों म कोड़े मारेंन अऊर एक नगर सी दूसरों नगर म खदेड़तो फिरेंन।
That is why I send you Prophets, wise men, and Teachers of the Law, some of whom you will crucify and kill, and some of whom you will scourge in your Synagogues, and persecute from town to town;
35 जेकोसी सच्चो हाबील सी ले क बिरिक्याह को बेटा जकर्याह तक, जेक तुम न मन्दिर अऊर वेदी को बीच म मार डाल्यो होतो, जितनो न्यायियों को खून धरती पर बहायो गयो हय ऊ सब तुम्हरो मुंड पर पड़ेंन।
in order that upon your heads may fall every drop of innocent ‘blood split on earth,’ from the blood of innocent Abel down to that of Zechariah, Barachiah’s son, whom you murdered between the Temple and the altar.
36 मय तुम सी सच कहू हय, यो सब बाते यो समय को लोगों पर आयेंन।
All this, I tell you, will come home to the present generation.
37 “हे यरूशलेम, हे यरूशलेम! तय जो भविष्यवक्तावों ख मार डालय हय, अऊर जो तोरो जवर भेज्यो गयो, उन पर पथराव करय हय। कितनो बार मय न चाहयो कि जसो मुर्गी अपनो बच्चां ख अपनो पंखा को खल्लो जमा करय हय, वसोच मय भी तोरो बच्चा ख जमा कर लेऊ, पर तुम न नहीं चाह्यो,
Jerusalem! Jerusalem! She who slays the Prophets and stones the messengers sent to her — Oh, how often have I wished to gather your children round me, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not come!
38 देखो, तुम्हरो घर तुम्हरो लायी उजाड़ छोड़्यो जावय हय।
Verily, your house is left to you desolate!
39 कहालीकि मय तुम सी सच कहू हय कि अभी सी जब तक तुम मोख तब तक नहीं देखो, जब तक यो नहीं कहो ‘धन्य हय ऊ, जो प्रभु को नाम सी आवय हय’ तब तक तुम मोख फिर कभी नहीं देखो।”
For nevermore, I tell you, shall you see me, until you say — ‘Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord!’”
