< Rite 4 >
1 Wana Boazi akendeki na ekuke ya engumba mpe avandaki kuna, amonaki mosikoli, oyo Boazi alobaki ete ye nde azali na ndingisa ya kosikola Rite, azali koleka. Boazi alobaki na ye: « Ndeko na ngai ya mobali, yaka nanu mpe vanda awa. » Moto yango apusanaki mpe avandaki.
Then Boaz went up to the gate and sat down. Just then the near kinsman of whom Boaz had spoken came along. Boaz said, “Hello, So-and-so (calling him by name), come here and sit down.” So he stopped and sat down.
2 Boazi abengaki mibali zomi kati na bakambi ya engumba mpe asengaki ete bavanda na bango elongo. Tango bavandaki,
Boaz also took ten of the town elders and said, “Sit down here.” So they sat down.
3 Boazi alobaki na mosikoli ya Rite: — Naomi oyo awutaki na mokili ya Moabi azali koteka elanga ya Elimeleki, ndeko na biso.
Then he said to the near relative, “Naomi, who has come back from the country of Moab, is offering for sale the piece of land which belonged to our relative Elimelech,
4 Ngai nazwaki likanisi ya koyebisa yo mpe kosenga na yo ete osomba na yo yango na miso ya bavandi ya engumba mpe ya bakambi oyo bazali awa. Soki ondimi kosomba yango, somba na yo. Soki te, yebisa ngai mpo ete nayeba; pamba te yo nde ozali moto ya liboso oyo azali na ndingisa ya kosomba yango, mpe ngai nazali na ndingisa sima na yo. Moto yango azongiselaki ye: — Iyo, nakosomba yango.
and I thought that I would lay the matter before you, suggesting that you buy it in the presence of these men who sit here and of the elders of my people. If you will buy it and so keep it in the possession of the family, do so; but if not; then tell me, so that I may know; for no one but you has the right to buy it, and I am next to you.” “I will buy it,” he said.
5 Boazi alobaki: — Na mokolo oyo okosomba elanga na maboko ya Naomi, okozwa mpe Rite, moto ya Moabi, mwasi akufisa mobali; mpo na kosala ete kombo ya mowei etikala na libula na ye.
Then Boaz said, “On the day you buy the field from Naomi, you must also marry Ruth the Moabite, the widow of the dead, in order to preserve the name of the dead in connection with his inheritance.”
6 Mosikoli alobaki: — Nakoki kosikola yango te, noki te nakotia mobulu kati na libula na ngai. Sikola yango yo moko, pamba te ngai nakoki te kosala yango.
“I cannot buy it for myself without spoiling my own inheritance,” the near relative said. “You take my right of buying it as a relative, because I cannot do so.”
7 Nzokande, na tango ya kala kati na Isalaele, mpo na kosikola mpe kopesa libula, moto moko azalaki kolongola sapatu na ye mpe kopesa yango epai ya moto mosusu. Sapatu yango ezalaki lokola elembo ya litatoli kati na Isalaele.
Now this used to be the custom in Israel: to make valid anything relating to a matter of redemption or exchange, a man drew off his sandal and gave it to the other man; and this was the way contracts were attested in Israel.
8 Mosikoli alobaki na Boazi: — Yo moko somba yango. Boye, alongolaki sapatu na ye.
So when the near relative said to Boaz, “Buy it for yourself,” Boaz drew off the man’s sandal.
9 Boazi ayebisaki bampaka mpe bato nyonso: — Bino moko bozali batatoli ete nasombi na maboko ya Naomi libula nyonso ya Elimeleki, ya Kilioni mpe ya Maaloni.
Then Boaz said to the elders and to all the people, “You are witnesses at this time that I have bought all that was Elimelech’s and all that was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s from Naomi.
10 Nazwi lisusu Rite, moto ya Moabi, oyo azalaki mwasi ya Maaloni oyo akufa, mpo ete azala mwasi na ngai, mpo na kosala ete kombo na ye etikala na libula na ye, ete ebunga te kati na bandeko na ye mpe kati na buku ya leta ya engumba na ye. Bino bozali batatoli na yango lelo.
Moreover I have secured Ruth the Moabite, the wife of Mahlon, to be my wife, in order to perpetuate the name of the dead in connection with his inheritance, so that his name will not disappear from among his relatives and from the household where he lived. You are witnesses this day.”
11 Boye, bampaka mpe bato nyonso oyo bazalaki na ekuke ya engumba balobaki: — Iyo, biso moko tozali batatoli. Tika ete Yawe akomisa mwasi oyo azali koya na ndako na yo, lokola Rasheli mpe Lea, oyo batongaki elongo libota ya Isalaele. Tika ete okoma moto monene kati na Efrata mpe moto ya lokumu kati na Beteleemi!
Then all the people who were at the gate and the elders said, “We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built the house of Israel. May you do well in Ephrata, and become famous in Bethlehem.
12 Tika ete bakitani oyo Yawe akopesa yo na nzela ya elenge mwasi oyo, bakomisa ndako na yo lokola ndako ya Peretsi oyo Tamari abotelaki Yuda!
From the children whom the Lord will give you by this young woman may your household become like the household of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah.”
13 Boye, Boazi akamataki Rite mpe abalaki ye. Sima na Boazi kosangisa na ye nzoto, Yawe asalelaki Rite ngolu: azwaki zemi mpe abotaki mwana mobali.
So Boaz married Ruth, and she became his wife; and the Lord gave to her a son.
14 Basi balobaki na Naomi: « Tika ete Yawe akumisama; Ye oyo, na mokolo ya lelo, atiki yo te kozanga mosikoli oyo kombo na ye ekokende sango kati na Isalaele!
Then the women said to Naomi, “Blessed be the Lord who has not left you at this time without a near relative, and may his name be famous in Israel.
15 Akoyeisa bomoi na yo sika mpe akosunga yo na kimobange na yo, pamba te bokilo na yo, oyo alingaka yo mpe azali na motuya na miso na yo koleka bana mibali sambo, aboteli yo mwana mobali. »
This child will restore your vigor and nourish you in your old age; for your daughter-in-law who loves you, who is worth more to you than seven sons, has borne a son to Boaz!”
16 Naomi azwaki mwana, atiaki ye na tolo na ye mpe akomaki mama mobokoli na ye.
So Naomi took the child in her arms and cared for him as if he was her own.
17 Basi ya mboka wana balobaki: « Naomi aboti mwana mobali! » Bapesaki mwana mobali yango kombo « Obedi. » Obedi abotaki Izayi, mpe Izayi abotaki Davidi.
The women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, “A son is born to Naomi!” They named him Obed. He became the father of Jesse, who was the father of David.
