1 Mpo na nini bikolo ezali kosala makelele mpe bato bazali kosala makita ya pamba?
Wherefore have nations assembled in tumult? Or should, peoples, mutter an empty thing?
2 Bakonzi ya mokili batomboki, mpe bakambi basangani mpo na kotelemela Yawe elongo na mopakolami na Ye.
The kings of earth take their station, and, grave men, have met by appointment together, —against Yahweh, and against his Anointed One [saying]:
3 Bazali koganga elongo: « Tokata minyololo na bango mpe tomikangola na bokonzi na bango! »
Let us break asunder their bonds, —and cast from us their cords!
4 Kasi Ye oyo avandi na Kiti na Ye ya Bokonzi kuna na likolo aseki, Yawe atioli bango.
He that sitteth in the heavens, will laugh, —My Lord, will mock at them:
5 Agangeli bango na kanda, apelisi kanda makasi na Ye mpo na bango, alobi:
Then, will he speak unto them in his anger, and, in his wrath, confound them:
6 « Ezali Ngai nde natiaki mokonzi na Ngai na Siona, ngomba na Ngai ya bule. »
Yet, I, have installed my king, —on Zion my holy mountain.
7 Nakosakola mobeko ya Yawe. Alobaki na ngai: « Ozali Mwana na Ngai ya mobali, na mokolo ya lelo, nakomi Tata na Yo.
Let me tell of a decree, —Yahweh, hath said unto me, My son, thou art, I, to-day, have begotten thee:
8 Senga Ngai, mpe nakokomisa bikolo libula na Yo, basuka ya mokili bozwi na Yo.
Ask of me, and let me give nations as thine inheritance, and, as thy possession, the ends of the earth:
9 Okoyangela yango na bokonzi ya ebende, okopanza yango lokola mbeki ya mabele. »
Thou shalt shepherd them with a sceptre of iron, —as a potter’s vessel, shalt thou dash them in pieces.
10 Yango wana, bino bakonzi, bozala na mayele; bino bayangeli ya mokili, boyoka likebisi oyo.
Now, therefore, ye kings, show your prudence, Be admonished, ye judges of earth:
11 Bosalela Yawe na kobanga mpe bosepela na kolenga.
Serve Yahweh with reverence, and exult with trembling:
12 Bopesa Mwana na Ye beze, noki te akosilika mpe bokokufa na nzela na bino, pamba te kanda na Ye epelaka noki. Esengo na bato oyo bazwaka Ye lokola ebombamelo na bango.
Kiss the son, lest he be angry, and ye perish by the way, for soon might be kindled his anger, —How happy are all who seek refuge in him!
