< Banzembo 122 >
1 Nzembo ya Davidi. Nzembo ya mobembo mpo na kokende na Tempelo ya Yawe. Nasepelaka tango balobaka na ngai: « Tokende na Tempelo ya Yawe! »
I was glad/happy when people said to me, “We should go to the temple of Yahweh [in Jerusalem]!”
2 Yelusalemi, makolo na biso etelemi na bikuke na yo!
And now we are here, standing inside the gates/city of [APO] Jerusalem.
3 Yelusalemi, engumba oyo etongama malamu; engumba oyo biteni na yango ekangana esika moko.
Jerusalem is a city that has been rebuilt, with the result that people can gather together in it.
4 Ezali kuna nde mabota ekendaka, mabota ya Yawe, kolanda mibeko kati na Isalaele, mpo na kosanzola Kombo ya Yawe.
We [people of the] tribes of Israel who belong to Yahweh can now go up there as Yahweh commanded that we should do, and we can thank him.
5 Pamba te bakiti ya bokonzi ya bato oyo basalelaka bosembo ezali kuna, bakiti ya bokonzi mpo na ndako ya Davidi.
There the kings of Israel who were descendants of [King] David sit on their thrones and decide cases [fairly when the people have disputes].
6 Bosenga kimia ya Yelusalemi! Tika ete bato oyo balingaka yo, Yelusalemi, babika na kimia!
Pray that there will be peace in Jerusalem; I desire that those who love Jerusalem will (prosper/live peacefully).
7 Tika ete kimia ezala kati na yo mpe kati na bandako na yo ya bokonzi!
I desire that there will be peace inside the walls of the city and that [people who are] inside the palaces will be safe.
8 Likolo ya bolingo na ngai mpo na bandeko mpe balingami na ngai, nalobi: « Tika ete kimia ezala kati na yo! »
For the sake of my relatives and friends, I say, “My desire is that that inside Jerusalem [people will live] peacefully.”
9 Likolo ya bolingo na ngai mpo na Tempelo ya Yawe, Nzambe na biso, nasengi bolamu mpo na yo.
And because I love the temple of Yahweh our God, I pray that things will go well for the people who live [in Jerusalem].
