Mateja Evaņg̒elijs 17
1 Un pēc sešām dienām Jēzus ņēma Pēteri un Jēkabu un šā brāli, Jāni, un tos veda savrup uz augstu kalnu,
Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter, and the brothers James and John, and led them up a high mountain alone.
2 Un tapa apskaidrots viņu priekšā, un Viņa vaigs spīdēja kā saule, un Viņa drēbes tapa baltas kā gaisma.
There his appearance was transformed before their eyes; his face shown like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.
3 Un redzi, Mozus un Elija tiem parādījās un runāja ar Viņu.
All at once Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Jesus.
4 Un Pēteris vērsās pie Jēzus un sacīja: “Kungs, šeit mums labi! Ja Tu gribi, tad mēs šeitan trīs būdas taisīsim, vienu Tev, vienu Mozum, un vienu Elijam.”
‘Master,’ exclaimed Peter, interposing, ‘it is good to be here; if you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.’
5 Tam vēl runājot, redzi, spožs padebesis tos apēnoja, un redzi, balss no tā padebeša sacīja: “Šis ir Mans mīļais Dēls, pie kā Man ir labs prāts, To jums būs klausīt.”
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud enveloped them, and there was a voice from the cloud that said – ‘This is my dearly loved son, who brings me great joy; listen to him.’
6 Kad tie mācekļi to dzirdēja, tad tie krita uz savu vaigu un izbijās ļoti.
The disciples, on hearing this, fell on their faces, greatly afraid.
7 Bet Jēzus nāca, tos aizskāra un sacīja: “Ceļaties un nebīstaties.”
But Jesus came and touched them, saying as he did so, ‘Rise up, and do not be afraid.’
8 Bet kad tie savas acis pacēla, tad tie neredzēja nevienu kā tik vien Jēzu.
When they raised their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus himself alone.
9 Un no kalna noejot, Jēzus tiem pavēlēja un sacīja: “Nesakiet nevienam šo parādīšanos, tiekams Tas Cilvēka Dēls nebūs uzcēlies no miroņiem.”
As they were going down the mountain side, Jesus gave them this warning – ‘Do not speak of this vision to anyone, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.’
10 Un Viņa mācekļi Viņam vaicāja sacīdami: “Ko tad tie rakstu mācītāji saka, ka Elijam jānāk papriekš?”
‘How is it,’ his disciples asked, ‘that our teachers of the Law say that Elijah has to come first?’
11 Bet Jēzus atbildēja un uz tiem sacīja: “Elija gan nāk papriekš un visu atkal sataisīs.
‘Elijah indeed does come,’ Jesus replied, ‘and will restore everything;
12 Bet Es jums saku, ka Elija jau ir nācis, tomēr tie viņu nav atzinuši, bet ar viņu darījuši, ko gribēdami. Tā arī Tam Cilvēka Dēlam būs jācieš no viņiem.”
and I tell you that Elijah has already come, and people have not recognised him, but have treated him just as they pleased. In the same way, too, the Son of Man is destined to undergo suffering at people’s hands.’
13 Tad tie mācekļi saprata, ka Viņš tiem sacījis no Jāņa, tā Kristītāja.
Then the disciples understood that he had spoken to them about John the Baptist.
14 Un kad tie nāca pie tiem ļaudīm, tad viens cilvēks pie Viņa atnāca un metās ceļos Viņa priekšā
When they came to the crowd, a man came up to Jesus, and, kneeling down before him, said,
15 Un sacīja: “Kungs, apžēlojies par manu dēlu, jo viņš ir mēnessērdzīgs un viņam briesmīgi jācieš; jo dažkārt viņš krīt ugunī un dažkārt ūdenī.
‘Master, take pity on my son, for he is epileptic and suffers terribly; indeed, he often falls into the fire and into the water;
16 Un es to pie Taviem mācekļiem esmu atvedis, bet tie to nevarēja veselu darīt.”
I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him.’
17 Bet Jēzus atbildēja un sacīja: “Ak tu neticīgā un netiklā cilts, cik ilgi Es vēl būšu pie jums? Cik ilgi Es jūs panesīšu? Vediet Man viņu šurp.”
‘Faithless and perverse generation!’ Jesus exclaimed, ‘how long must I be among you? How long must I have patience with you? Bring the boy here to me.’
18 Un Jēzus viņu apdraudēja, un velns no viņa izbēga; un tas zēns palika vesels tanī pašā stundā.
Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy; and he was cured from that very hour.
19 Tad tie mācekļi piegāja pie Jēzus atsevišķi un sacīja: “Kāpēc mēs viņu nevarējām izdzīt?”
Afterwards the disciples came up to Jesus, and asked him privately, ‘Why was it that we could not drive it out?’
20 Un Jēzus uz tiem sacīja: “Jūsu neticības dēļ; jo patiesi, Es jums saku: kad jums ticība ir kā sinepju graudiņš, tad jūs sacīsiet šim kalnam: nocelies no šejienes uz turieni, un viņš nocelsies, un nekas jums nebūs neiespējams.
‘Because you have so little faith!’ he answered, ‘For, I tell you, if your faith were only like a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain “Move from this place to that!” and it would be moved; and nothing would be impossible to you.’
21 Bet šī suga neizbēg kā vien caur lūgšanu un gavēšanu.”
22 Kad nu tie Galilejā apkārt staigāja, tad Jēzus uz tiem sacīja: “Tas Cilvēka Dēls taps nodots cilvēku rokās.
While Jesus and his disciples were together in Galilee, he said to them, ‘The Son of Man is destined to be betrayed into human hands,
23 Un Viņu nokaus, un trešā dienā Viņš celsies augšām;” un tie ļoti noskuma.
and they will put him to death, but on the third day he will rise.’ The disciples were greatly distressed.
24 Un kad tie Kapernaūmā nāca, tad tie nodokļu saņēmēji atnāca pie Pētera un sacīja: “Vai jūsu Mācītājs nodokli nedod?”
After they had reached Capernaum, the collectors of the Temple taz came up to Peter, and said, ‘Does not your Master pay the Temple tax?’
25 Viņš sacīja: “Dod gan.” Un kad tas namā bija iegājis, Jēzus viņam papriekš vaicāja sacīdams: “Ko tu domā, Sīman? No kuriem laicīgie ķēniņi ņem muitu un nodokli? Vai no saviem bērniem, vai no svešiniekiem?”
‘Yes,’ answered Peter. But, on going into the house, before he could speak, Jesus said, ‘What do you think, Simon? From whom do earthly kings take taxes or tribute? From their sons, or from others?’
26 Pēteris uz Viņu sacīja: “No svešiniekiem.” Tad Jēzus uz to sacīja: “Tad tie bērni ir svabadi.
‘From others,’ answered Peter. ‘Well then,’ continued Jesus, ‘their sons go free.
27 Bet lai mēs tiem nedodam apgrēcību, tad ej jūrmalā un izmet makšķeri, un to pirmo zivi, kas piekodīsies, ņem, un viņas muti atdarījis, tu atradīsi vienu stateri, to ņem un dod viņiem priekš Manis un tevis.”
Still, so we don’t offend them, go and throw a line into the sea; take the first fish that rises, open its mouth, and you will find in it a piece of money. Take that, and give it to the collectors for both of us.’
