Psalmorum 138

1 David. Confitebor tibi Domine in toto corde meo: quoniam audisti verba oris mei. In conspectu angelorum psallam tibi:

[By David.] I will give you thanks, YHWH, with my whole heart. Before the gods I will sing praises to you.

2 adorabo ad templum sanctum tuum, et confitebor nomini tuo. Super misericordia tua, et veritate tua: quoniam magnificasti super omne, nomen sanctum tuum.

I will bow down toward your holy temple, and give thanks to your Name for your loving kindness and for your truth; for you have exalted your Name and your word above all.

3 In quacumque die invocavero te, exaudi me: multiplicabis in anima mea virtutem.

In the day that I called, you answered me. You encouraged me with strength in my soul.

4 Confiteantur tibi Domine omnes reges terrae: quia audierunt omnia verba oris tui:

All the kings of the earth will give you thanks, YHWH, for they have heard the words of your mouth.

5 Et cantent in viis Domini: quoniam magna est gloria Domini.

Yes, they will sing of the ways of YHWH; for great is YHWH's glory.

6 Quoniam excelsus Dominus, et humilia respicit: et alta a longe cognoscit.

For though YHWH is high, yet he looks after the lowly; but the proud, he knows from afar.

7 Si ambulavero in medio tribulationis, vivificabis me: et super iram inimicorum meorum extendisti manum tuam, et salvum me fecit dextera tua.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will revive me. You will stretch forth your hand against the wrath of my enemies. Your right hand will save me.

8 Dominus retribuet pro me: Domine misericordia tua in saeculum: opera manuum tuarum ne despicias.

YHWH will fulfill that which concerns me; your loving kindness, YHWH, endures forever. Do not forsake the works of your own hands.
