Nehemiæ 3
1 Et surrexit Eliasib sacerdos magnus, et fratres eius sacerdotes, et aedificaverunt portam gregis: ipsi sanctificaverunt eam, et statuerunt valvas eius, et usque ad turrim centum cubitorum sanctificaverunt eam, usque ad turrim Hananeel.
And Eliashib the high priest rises, and his brothers the priests, and they build the Sheep Gate; they have sanctified it, and set up its doors, even to the Tower of Meah they have sanctified it, to the Tower of Hananeel;
2 Et iuxta eum aedificaverunt viri Iericho: et iuxta eum aedificavit Zachur filius Amri.
and by his hand men of Jericho have built; and by their hand Zaccur son of Imri has built;
3 Portam autem piscium aedificaverunt filii Asnaa: ipsi texerunt eam, et statuerunt valvas eius, et seras, et vectes. Et iuxta eos aedificavit Marimuth filius Uriae, filii Accus.
and sons of Hassenaah have built the Fish Gate; they have walled it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars.
4 Et iuxta eum aedificavit Mosollam filius Barachiae, filii Mesezebel: et iuxta eos aedificavit Sadoc filius Baana:
And by their hand Merimoth son of Urijah, son of Koz, has strengthened; and by his hand Meshullam son of Berechiah, son of Meshezabeel, has strengthened; and by his hand Zadok son of Baana has strengthened;
5 Et iuxta eos aedificaverunt Thecueni: optimates autem eorum non supposuerunt colla sua in opere Domini sui.
and by his hand the Tekoites have strengthened, and their majestic ones have not brought in their neck to the service of their Lord.
6 Et portam veterem aedificaverunt Ioiada filius Phasea, et Mosollam filius Besodia: ipsi texuerunt eam, et statuerunt valvas eius, et seras, et vectes:
And Jehoiada son of Paseah and Meshullam son of Besodeiah have strengthened the Old Gate; they have walled it, and set up its doors, and its locks, and its bars.
7 Et iuxta eos aedificaverunt Meltias Gabaonites, et Iadon Meronathites, viri de Gabaon et Maspha, pro duce qui erat in regione trans Flumen.
And by their hand Melatiah the Gibeonite has strengthened, and Jadon the Meronothite, men of Gibeon and of Mizpah, [belonging] to the throne of the governor beyond the River.
8 Et iuxta eum aedificavit Eziel filius Araia aurifex: et iuxta eum aedificavit Ananias filius pigmentarii: et dimiserunt Ierusalem usque ad murum plateae latioris.
By his hand Uzziel son of Harhaiah of the refiners has strengthened; and by his hand Hananiah son of [one of] the compounders has strengthened; and they leave Jerusalem to the broad wall.
9 Et iuxta eum aedificavit Raphaia filius Hur, princeps vici Ierusalem.
And by their hand Rephaiah son of Hur, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, has strengthened.
10 Et iuxta eum aedificavit Iedaia filius Haromaph contra domum suam: et iuxta eum aedificavit Hattus filius Haseboniae.
And by their hand Jedaiah son of Harumaph has strengthened, and opposite his own house; and by his hand Hattush son of Hashabniah has strengthened.
11 Mediam partem vici aedificavit Melchias filius Herem, et Hasub filius Phahath Moab, et turrim furnorum.
A second measure Malchijah son of Harim has strengthened, and Hashub son of Pahath-Moab, even the Tower of the Furnaces.
12 Et iuxta eum aedificavit Sellum filius Alohes princeps mediae partis vici Ierusalem, ipse et filiae eius.
And by his hand Shallum son of Halohesh, head of the half of the district of Jerusalem, has strengthened, he and his daughters.
13 Et portam vallis aedificavit Hanun, et habitatores Zanoe: ipsi aedificaverunt eam, et statuerunt valvas eius, et seras, et vectes, et mille cubitos in muro usque ad portam sterquilinii.
Hanun has strengthened the Valley Gate, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they have built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and one thousand cubits in the wall to the Refuse Gate.
14 Et portam sterquilinii aedificavit Melchias filius Rechab, princeps vici Bethacharam: ipse aedificavit eam, et statuit valvas eius, et seras, et vectes.
And Malchijah son of Rechab, head of the district of Beth-Haccerem, has strengthened the Refuse Gate; he builds it, and sets up its doors, its locks, and its bars.
15 Et portam fontis aedificavit Sellum filius Cholhoza, princeps pagi Maspha: ipse aedificavit eam, et texit, et statuit valvas eius, et seras, et vectes, et muros piscinae Siloe in hortum regis, et usque ad gradus, qui descendunt de Civitate David.
And Shallum son of Col-Hozeh, head of the district of Mizpah, has strengthened the Fountain Gate: he builds it, and covers it, and sets up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Siloah, to the garden of the king, and to the steps that are going down from the City of David.
16 Post eum aedificavit Nehemias filius Azboc princeps dimidiae partis vici Bethsur usque contra sepulchrum David et usque ad piscinam, quae grandi opere constructa est, et usque ad domum fortium.
After him Nehemiah son of Azbuk, head of the half of the district of Beth-Zur, has strengthened to opposite the graves of David, and to the pool that is made, and to the house of the mighty ones.
17 Post eum aedificaverunt Levitae, Rehum filius Benni: post eum aedificavit Hasebias princeps dimidiae partis vici Ceilae in vico suo.
After him the Levites have strengthened, [and] Rehum son of Bani; by his hand Hashabiah, head of the half of the district of Keilah, has strengthened for his district.
18 Post eum aedificaverunt fratres eorum Bavai filius Enadad, princeps dimidiae partis Ceilae.
After him their brothers have strengthened, [and] Bavvai son of Henadad, head of the half of the district of Keilah.
19 Et aedificavit iuxta eum Azer filius Iosue, princeps Maspha mensuram secundam, contra ascensum firmissimi anguli.
And Ezer son of Jeshua, head of Mizpah, strengthens, by his hand, a second measure, from in front of the ascent of the armory at the angle.
20 Post eum in monte aedificavit Baruch filius Zachai mensuram secundam, ab angulo usque ad portam domus Eliasib sacerdotis magni.
After him Baruch son of Zabbai has hurried to strengthen a second measure from the angle to the opening of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
21 Post eum aedificavit Merimuth filius Uriae filii Haccus, mensuram secundam, a porta domus Eliasib, donec extenderetur domus Eliasib.
After him Meremoth son of Urijah, son of Koz, has strengthened a second measure, from the opening of the house of Eliashib even to the completion of the house of Eliashib.
22 Et post eum aedificaverunt sacerdotes viri de campestribus Iordanis.
And after him the priests, men of the circuit, have strengthened.
23 Post eum aedificavit Beniamin et Hasub contra domum suam: et post eum aedificavit Azarias filius Maasiae filii Ananiae contra domum suam.
After them Benjamin has strengthened, and Hashub, opposite their house; after him Azariah son of Maaseiah, son of Ananiah, has strengthened near his house.
24 Post eum aedificavit Bennui filius Henadad mensuram secundam, a domo Azariae usque ad flexuram, et usque ad angulum.
After him Binnui son of Henadad has strengthened a second measure, from the house of Azariah to the angle, and to the corner.
25 Phalel filius Ozi contra flexuram et turrim, quae eminet de domo regis excelsa, id est, in atrio carceris: post eum Phadaia filius Pharos.
Palal son of Uzai [strengthened] from opposite the angle, and the tower that is going out from the upper house of the king that [is] at the court of the prison; after him Pedaiah son of Parosh [strengthened].
26 Nathinaei autem habitabant in Ophel usque contra portam aquarum ad Orientem, et turrim, quae prominebat.
And the Nethinim have been dwelling in Ophel, to opposite the Water Gate at the east, and the tower that goes out.
27 Post eum aedificaverunt Thecueni mensuram secundam e regione, a turre magna et eminente usque ad murum templi.
After him the Tekoites have strengthened a second measure, from opposite the great tower that goes out, and to the wall of Ophel.
28 Sursum autem ad portam equorum aedificaverunt sacerdotes, unusquisque contra domum suam.
From above the Horse Gate the priests have strengthened, each opposite his house.
29 Post eos aedificavit Sadoc filius Emmer contra domum suam. Et post eum aedificavit Semaia filius Secheniae, custos portae Orientalis.
After them Zadok son of Immer has strengthened opposite his house; and after him Shemaiah son of Shechaniah, keeper of the East Gate, has strengthened.
30 Post eum aedificavit Hanania filius Selemiae, et Hanun filius Seleph sextus, mensuram secundam: post eum aedificavit Mosollam filius Barachiae, contra gazophylacium suum.
After him Hananiah son of Shelemiah has strengthened, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, a second measure; after him Meshullam son of Berechiah has strengthened opposite his chamber.
31 Post eum aedificavit Melchias filius aurificis usque ad domum Nathinaeorum, et scruta vendentium contra portam iudicialem, et usque ad coenaculum anguli.
After him Malchijah son of the refiner has strengthened, to the house of the Nethinim, and of the merchants, opposite the Miphkad Gate, and to the ascent of the corner.
32 Et inter coenaculum anguli in porta gregis aedificaverunt artifices et negotiatores.
And between the ascent of the corner and the Sheep Gate, the refiners and the merchants have strengthened.
